The most expensive service I had so far with my Z (28k miles), is 150 Pound including oil etc.!! I live in Belgium though and service my car in Holland. The service schedule is slightly different in the UK (P1, P2, P3) etc, but I reckon you'll spend probably one third of the running cost of the Impreza .

The running cost of the Z is reaonably low if you ask me. I had more costs with my '99 Rover 200D! If you start looking for an '03-'04 import, there is a big chance there is no general warranty on the car anymore. So have a look through the forum to see what the common problems are with our Z's. Then ask a potential seller if any of these problems occured and have been fixed accordingly.

Althought the thread has been started a while ago, I really like your first post! None of the normal newbie questions were asked which can be easily found by searching. I wish every new member searched and read a lot before asking questions (although it's not so bad on this one, the US forums are way worse)

New wheels always look so clean . Normally doesn't last very long, unless you drive your car only in sunny weather...

I can confirm that with a 10.5" +17 volk rim in the rear, it does stick out the fender a little . IMO it looks aggresive though

What would be different on the UK one then? Are the buttons the other way around ??

How much was the shipping or was it not quoted to you seperately? I've found an address which sell the Nismo exhaust for 895$ without shipping... Let us know how much tax you ended up paying in the end...

Try to get the '06 LED lights for the rear for free!

For sure you'll hear the sensors way before 20 cm. I'd say roughly 1 meter (3 feet for you guys )

Steve-b, did you only have the problem changing from 4th to 6th around 4k rpm? Let me know as I'll test my Z shortly as the warranty runs out in April.

I have the polished version with the new black rubber trim near the plenum (not the stupid blue one). I got it via ebay, autocom_performance, total price including shipment 295.72 $. He did some magic on the custom forms, 7 Pound custom tax . It looks brilliant underneath the hood and does make a terrific sound above 3k rpm!

The stock plenum, is it just steel or aluminium? I'm getting some quotes to get it chromed as well and they all charge a lot more for aluminium.... Thanks

What happened to the Fujitsubo exhaust?

The Laser Park Pro does sound interesting, too bad I have the oem system at the rear. Otherwise I would buy it straight away without thinking...

You'll need wheels which are 'high pad' for the front and you can go down to 'low pad' for the rear if I remember it correctly. Also the offset might be important, but doesn't tell everything. My Volks are 9.5" +17 up front and clear the brembo's by +- 8mm!

Get goodyear F1 and you'll be suprised what you can do in the rain. You still need to be careful though, but I normally pass all traffic at +- 90mph. Even when it's raining heavily, with 275 on the rear wheels....

How long did it take them to polish the plenum as you can't drive without one?
