  1. So the CS will also help in preventing the typical body roll we now have to endure? btw, disregard my last message. I was confused with the Flex and the new Mono Flex system Tein released just recently. The mono flex would definitely be too hard for b class roads...
  2. The SLK is so small! My colleague has one and when I park next to HER, it looks even smaller compared to the Z....

CS is the latest one right, even more applicable for track use? It's my daily driver, so still want a bit of comfort...
  4. Wow.... He really must love his job at Google.... He should be helping out some Z owners first!
  5. I don't think soundclips ever do the sound justice. Maybe I'll change my mind when the exhaust system has fully opened up and I've my plenum spacer installed .
  6. You need some 19's! Or do you have some already? Anyway, looks really good on the picture, can't imagine what it's like in real life!
  7. When N/A, forget it unless you really like the bling factor and don't care about performance. FI, it could give some nice gains after tuning. However, better and cheaper options out there.
  8. I used the same guy as Beavis did. Great service and pretty fast shipping. You can add any oem or nismo parts to your nismo exhaust and still pay the same shipping cost. As the exhaust box is huge and will fit loads of other parts. It was delivered at my parents house and they thought I ordered a motorcycle .
  9. Goodyear Eagle F1's. Very impressive traction, both in the dry and wet. Especially good traction in the wet was very important for me when buying tyres. Although with this weather it's not needed Regarding the pulleys: It really depends on your Z. Some will have no problems taking the main pulley off, while others think the pulley is welded down . The 2 smaller pulleys should never be a problem to remove. My mechanic removed the fan of the radiator, not the whole radiator. This seems to give enough clearance. Although it does require to drain all the radiator fluid.
  10. I don't and nobody should as they have the a special opening for the o2 sensors.
  11. I'll make some pics tomorrow. Although it's such a pita to keep my black car clean right now with all the small particles in the air.... The pulleys seem to shorten the delay you have between hitting the throttle and the revs building up. It goes much more smooth than before. However, it's a bit difficult to see which part improved what. As I got multiple parts installed. The weight difference on the UR pulleys and the normal ones is impressive. The box with ur pulleys weights almost nothing, with the normal ones the box can just be carried with one hand! Actually the mechanic made some pictures while installing some of the parts, here they are for those being interested. Tomorrow I'll make some of the pulleys/hood dampers:
  12. Of course! If you guys are up for it to drive to Holland . Would be the best part of the show though: 30 Z's parked together!
  13. As some of you might have read before, I went on a holiday to Isla Margarita and dropped my car off to get some parts installed. The parts installed: -Nismo exhaust -Kinetix HFC's -Strup headers -UR pulley set -Stoptech stage 2 aerorotors for the standard brembo's with ss brakelines, RBF600 and Endless SSS brakepads (-NRG hood dampers) I brought my car to a friend who also has a Z with quite some engine/exhuast parts replaced by a local mechanic. As he knows the mechanic really well, I managed to get a superb price to get it all installed. I paid 360 pound for the installation of al parts listed above, including a whole check of the car and fixing the windscreenfluid reservoir connection. Also he put in some fuel worth 30 pound, all in that price. He spend some 20 hours on the installation. Especially the headers were a pita as one side came extremely close to the steering column. So he had to take one side off again and heat it. So he could make a small dent in one pipe and fitment would be perfect. So needless to say I gave the guy a tip. I mean, charging only +- 16.5 pound per hour is amazing. Also this guy does maintance on ferrari's, porsches and a SLR (from father of his wife). So he definitely knows what he's doing. Regarding my Z after the install: The brakepad feeling is nicer, most likely due to the ss brakelines. I still have to bed in my pads as I didn't have time yet. So they're not up to 100% strenght yet. Still they're performing already a lot better than the old setup. The sound from the car is extremely different then before . It's really deep and pretty loud in lower rpm. In higher rpm it's absolutely amazing. I don't regret the installation of the HFC's at all. Mind you that I also have a Typhoon intake and soon will install my motordyne spacer as well. Just waiting for my plenum to be polished. Performance wise, the car goes through the rpm a lot smoother and also relatively quicker. I will get a decent tune sometime soon to get the full hp out of the parts. I know it won't be a huge difference compared to stock, but FI is no option for me. So now I'm looking into getting a good suspension upgrade. The tokico's have my attention as well as the Tein flex + edfc. Also I will get a new clutch + lighter flywheel combo, so it will be installed when the old clutch starts to wear out. I'm still in doubt whether I'll get a 3.9 FD. There are a lot of good reports on this. Although it will give you a 10% higher rpm at any given speed, thus less mpg. Also 1st gear is already quite short and it will even get shorter. As most of us, I didn't plan on modding my Z at all. I was only thinking to get a nice set of summer wheels when I bought my car. However, as soon as I got the Typhoon and a grounding kit, the modding virus got into my system.... I'll keep you guys updated regarding completion of my wishlist : -Tune (unichip/utec/???) -Suspension -Clutch + lighter flywehel -3.9 FD ? -Complete soundsytem -Doors trimmed with leather (CF central dashboard - ordered long time ago, still awaiting delivery)
  14. As you can read in this post, http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic ... 6547#86547 , my Z only has a K&N typhoon fitted and a grounding kit. So I've been collecting some parts over the last 2 months and they'll be installed next week when I'm in a 5* star hotel on Isla de Margarita . I'm taking it to a guy who has installed most of the parts already on other 350's. He also does maintenance on ferrar's, astons, even a Merc SLR! As I will do my car in his spare time, it will even work out cheaper than a normal garage. So here are the things which will be installed. I guess it won't fit in my Z, so a friend will have to join with a decent spacious car . -Nismo exhaust -Kinetix HFC's -Strup Headers -UR complete pulley kit (3x with gates belts) -Stoptech stage 2 aerorotor kit for Brembo (2 piece aerorotors like the bbk's, stainless steel brakelines, RBF600) -Endless SSS brakepads -Some chrome engine parts for just the bling bling Then once I get my plenum back from the polisher, it will be chromed and installed along with a Motordyne ISO copper plenum spacer... I guess it will definitely make a difference regarding the sound. I should get some more hp as well. I will get a decent tune in the next couple of months, just looking into that at the moment (Unichip, eManage, UTEC). Can't wait to try my car with the new parts . I'll let you guys know whether I can feel/hear anything different .
  15. Last year I went to the JAF 2006 at the TT track Assen, Holland. ( http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4407 ) This year I got invited to show my car again and I got the VIP treatment . This meant free entrance for me and 1 passenger + free access to the paddock. I met up again with the guy I got to know from last years show. He has a GM nismo kit with 20" Alteras and loads of n/a mods. He also got the VIP invitation along with a select group of other skyline and nicely tuned cars. So we got our own little space in between all the other club stands. First time my car was on carpet, ok it wasn't red but blue will do as well . Most of the other VIP guests had their cars in front of their shop stands as they were all owners of garages. This meant there was a big space for only 3 cars: mine, the other Z and a white skyline. A bit exaggerated, but who cars . Like last year there were loads of car clubs at the event and some really goodlooking individual cars as well. In the pictures below you can see the reason why I bought a Z and not a Impreza. There were roughly 100-150 impreza's collected and sorted on colour . There were only 5 other 350Z's at the event of which 4 were completely standard. At least my car has some nice little details and eye-catching wheels . After watching some of the drifting going on and looking at loads of cars, we went for our free lunch in the Gold Club, located right above the pits. Here you have an excellent view of the official start of the track where they were doing quarter mile races. They only timed the 200m part of it for some reason. The fastest car was a Honda CRX doing the 200m in 7.x s with a trap speed of 143 km/h. Pretty fast... The weather was greata as it was sunny and 17 degrees at this day (1 week ago actually, 1st of April). So we spend some time looking at cars again, talking to people and going back to the Gold Club for more free drinks . Later that day all the vip guests were informed that there was a possibility to drive on the track for half an hour. Of course I didn't decline this invitation, so around 4 o'clock I lined up in the pitstop area. Along were mostly Skylines, with some nice 200SX's and a Silvia. Most of the optically tuned with engines of 450hp or more. So I felt a little underrated with my Typhoon kit and grounding kit . With a total of 16 cars, we went for our first lap behind a S4 safety car. After that we were free to drive ourselves. It was explained that no drifting was allowed and is should be 'recreative' driving. Well, as we all had cars that weren't a Civic or a Golf, the speeds were quite high on the track. After 3 more laps I burned most of my fuel I had left, reaching >120 mph on the straight. Af the end of lap 3, we were directed towards the pitstop again. Here we were told that we could only continue with a helmet or stop driving. Reason: the speeds were a lot higher than expected and the laptimes were quite low . So I decided to leave as I didn't have a helmet for me and my passenger, nor enough fuel to do another 5 laps or so. So it was again a really nice day. Even the driving towards Assen and coming back on the motorway as an experience of itself. Loads of car lovers on the road with nice vehicles, so everywhere. Even 1 crazy Primera with a chick hanging out of the passenger window, making pictures of me while driving 100 mph! Here are some more pics for those interested: http://s99.photobucket.com/albums/l305/ ... 7%20Assen/ It was quite windy, so all the girls wearing skirts showed some skin .
  16. Get some gas struts! I have the NRG hood dampers and they work like a charm, although the hood is raised higher than normal. The good thing with the NRG ones is that you don''t have to cut alot into the plastic surrounding the batterycover/cilinder cover. The only thing you need to do is to cut a semi circle to uncover a bolt and that's it.... If you get some Tein dampers, you really have to cut out quite a bit or melt the shape of the dampers into the plastic... I got them from this website: http://www.speedfantasyus.com/index.php ... f10399a476 Postage is +- 25$
  17. You can get up to +- 400 rwhp with a SC, without touching the internals. A TT setup has alot more options to get an insane amount of power, but like said before you have to change the internals of the engine. A TT setup can get you 700-1000 rwhp on the Z. This is very very expensive to reach though. From other people experiences, I would say a SC is more reliable for the daily driver. However, a lot depends on the tuning of your car. A turbo or TT might prove reliable on a low boost as well. Anyway, 400 rwhp is approximately the limit on stock internal engine parts. Above that, you should really change some to keep reliability. If you really want loads of info on going FI, check my350z.com.
  18. I agree, but most likely it has some serious chassis damage.
  19. I really like the looks of it! Good combination of colour/bodykit. Another vote for different wheels though with a better offset, then it'll look great!
  20. The new blue does seem to be add a bit of a boring touch to the Z imo. However, I saw some pics on one of the US forums and it really changes colour depending on the lightning. Sometimes it almost looks black and right in the sun it's sparkling blue... Think I have to see it in person....
  21. another penta here if I had to pick one of the 2...
  22. The green above look astonishing!! Get it in that colour, even better than the darker green of the lambo...
