  1. Mine has cost me £250 plus £30 fines x 12
  2. The 123d is a much more desirable car compared the 120d, so you cannot compare the two. The cheapest 123d coupe (2007) on Pistonheads is on for £12.9K. Thats about £3.4K deprecation per year, which isn't actually that bad. Has that car got 100k on it??? As thats what Rabbitstew is proposing. And still, thats still £17k of depreciation in 5 years; great way to save money I'm all for trading up or buying something that you really really want, but stating that buying a Brand new car is actually going to save you money is bizarre to say the least.
  3. I think that frankly your in for a shock. If you think your only going to lose £10k in five years on a brand new BMW, that your going to be doing 20k a year in, your misguided to say the least. The 123d is circa £30k+ ; http://beta.pistonheads.com/classifieds ... 2dr/333878 Heres a 2007 120d M sport at £11k that has half the mileage your car will have; http://beta.pistonheads.com/classifieds ... ort/546120 Any savings you may have made in fuel are going to be completly obliterated by the £20k+ depreciation. As a money saving exercise it makes no sense, sorry. Nice car though I like them.
  4. I'm curious about your perception around the depreciation on a brand new BMW over five years? Your going from a car that has lost the vast majority of it's depreciation, right back to the top of the depreciation ladder.... All the costs you've cited are still going to be present, apart from a lower petrol bill, but have you seen BMW's servicing prices?? Also, if you've got enough cash to buy a brand new BMW outright, why you worrying about the zeds costs??
  5. +1 Black and white photo's in a for sale ad??
  6. I assume the spacers are on order??
  7. hahaha, very funny Not funny. True

  9. Nice one Good to see someone travelling for the right car
  10. Probably yeah, but definitely only GT4's as UK spec. The yellow car in the ebay link is a JDM 35th Anniversay that he is trying to pass off as a uk GT4, which it's not.
  11. Noooooooooooooo it wasn't. GT4 = UK 35th Anniversary = JDM
  12. Yep, these came in black and grey too. The point is though that he is selling it as a GT4, which is/was a UK car. He even mentioned the playstations that came with the cars, which only happened with UK cars.........
  13. Not brand new then..... Like new would perhaps be more accurate. However, that's splitting hairs. My point was it was a physical car that had been driven by others (however briefly) and not a factory order. Im not seeing what your trying to get at? If it was from the factory, it would have cost £54k, if it was on PCP he would have had to pay roughly £25k for 3 years,. What he is getting at is that you said it was "brand new" but then stated it was a demo, which are not the same thing. If he had bought it brand new, it would have been £54k as you pointed out yourself. If your dad had got it on PCP he would have had a new car (£54k) and the £25k lease payments would have brought the figures almost exactly in line with your proposed current value of £30k............... Ohhh right, you misunderstood me then, it's £30k NOW, as in 5 years after he bought it, in 2010 we looked at upgrading as we fancied the 4.4 TDV8 but it only came in the Vogue so i looked at used prices then at it was roughly £38k. So after 3 years of PCP you'd have spent £25k If you bought outright and sold at second hand, you'd have only lost £16k to depreciation. Sorry if i didn't word it right! All that information would have been useful in your first post
  14. *goes to check out S2K's in the classifieds*
  15. What a joker. I emailed him a week ago and got no reply. Clearly trying to hoodwink some poor unsuspecting noob
  16. +1 It's not even a UK car, and has vile seats....
