  1. Which basically means that the rest of the kit is probably replica too.............
  2. thanks for the advice i'm rubbish at writing letters, but i was too chicken to phone direct as i didn't know how to phrase things with out blurting out "f*ing c**K" in a sentence. i thought writing might be a softer approach where i can think about what i can say and re word it several times. where as on the phone once you've said it you can't take it back, at least in a letter/email, you can delete and re type before sending. hey sarnie do yuo want to write my full responce for me A letter/email is always best as its a record of conversation. I would happily write you a response although you may baulk at my hourly rate.........
  3. I have 3 eBay shops and get sooooooooo wound up by some peoples complaints and certain words are like a red flag to a bull. I guarantee he got riled by: Very annoyed absolutely butchered wonky snapped quickly gummed back no decent plastic cements used made plastic brittle damage completely unnececcesary scrap plastic worth nothing All very aggressive language all indicating that his work is either sub standard or poor at best. What he is doing is fighting fire with fire, responding in the same light as he feels you have attacked him. He probably feels backed into a corner too with you mentioning forums and reputations etc. I'd respond with a very softly softly reply and try to gain a middle ground of responsibility e.g you didn't say he could butcher it but he never said he was going to leave the part unusable etc? if that fails hit him with trading standards, local press, internet petitions and a ****ing road block outside his place for a week!!
  4. Looks decent from the front but not the side. I think making it blue would change the shape of the bonnet outline a bit like eyelids..........
  5. He should have replied something like: Hi Richard, I'm am very sorry to hear of your displeasure with our recent services. We pride ourselves on our reputation that has taken 36 years to achieve. I'd like to think that we treat every complaint with the utmost respect and will apply any actions that we see fit. However, it seems that we have had a slight miscommunication upon what was to happen to the part you provided us with. It was our every intention to use it to fit your item, but even after careful manipulation it could not be achieved. I was not aware that we could not try to alter it from its original state, but also we never had any explicit instructions from you to the contrary either. As a valued customer I hope you understand our situation and agree that it was neither of our faults. We take all complaints seriously and want every client to leave having had a positive experience of our services. In todays current climate, word of mouth, can make or break a business so we would like to offer a contribution of +/- £50 and would hope that that would be satifactory for both parties and enable you to feel confident not only to return to us but also to recommend us to any friend or forum associates you may have any dealings with. Cheers Dick Wad Audio Services Ltd Not blaming your issue on todays compensation culture and basically telling you not to pursue this route as its not a good example to be setting as a Teacher..........
  6. My take on it is that they have not done a great deal wrong. They tried to fit a part you gave them for the install. It didn't fit and got altered in the process making it unsaleable. However. The last three or four paragraphs are a total **** take. "You made that decision as an adult" "as a teacher" "Our customer service goes far beyond what is required from us." "The compensation culture which is amongst us today is not making us responsible for our own bad judgement. It just makes us feel as though someone else is always to blame. I hope as a school Teacher that you agree this is something children should learn not to do" Who the **** does he think he is the patronising ****! You may have gave the part to them, they may have butchered it but what kind of a customer service is that? you were only asking for compensation to a % of the £100 not a full refund plus damages! This experience will steer you, and possibly others, away from them for good (losing potentially thousands of pounds) but they would rather demean you than cough up a few quid.....
  7. How come M13KYF hasn't moved this thread yet?
  8. He claimed on here last week that he had lost his job and was flogging his zed bits......
  9. I smell a shill bidder........................
  10. Previous owner has been on the forum today Well done Sherlock. Is suspect that as an ex-owner this might be the last thing he wants to get into. As long as he sold it in working condition or informed the buyer of the problems it had, he has nothing to worry about Quite right but if I were him I'd probably have better things to do than open myself up to a quizzing on here. PS: Why do you keep having a dig at Martinw??

  12. That member had his kick plate thread removed as he didn't have enough posts. I bet he is shill bidding on it........

    Fifth Gear

    It still sounds awful.
  14. Ok here goes: (nicked a few phot's from AT for effect) 1) Ford Escort LX - This was the first car I bought after I finished uni and got my first job. It cost me £500 that I had to borrow from a friend. Had it 4 weeks before it got stolen. Went shopping in it to asda, came home, went to a party, cmae back and it was gone!!! Insurance paid out £400 minus the £350 excess meaning I got a cheque for £50 and I still owed my mate £500!!! Even worse though was that I'd bought a suprise engagement ring (for my now wife) and had hidden it in my briefcase in the boot of my car before it got nicked!!! I spent a long time paying that lot off My Mrs now admits to being happy about the ring getting nicked as she got a much bigger one a few years later 2) Peugeot 309 - As I was **** poor my father in law bought me a car to get to work. Unfortunately he bought me this heap of @*!# for £200. The exhaust had a whole in it till it fell off. Eventually went to car heaven after I neglected to ever check the water or oil levels and the engine seized I hated this car more than any other!!! 3) VW Golf - Needed another quick run around so bought this for £250. This car ran like a dream for ten years for the previous owner; 3 weeks after I bought it, the head gasket went costing £350. A month later it went again. Bye bye Golf . 4) Renault Megane Coupe 2.0l - Eventually I stopped bumming around and got a good job that paid well and saved hard. Took me ages to save £6k to buy my first car for cash. Bought a yellow Megane Coupe and loved it!!! it was a league above everything else I had owned. It had a CD player, AC, electric windows, leather seats and even NO CHOKE!!!! Had it for nearly two years and saved enough to try and join the big boys! Lost £4k on it though in the process 5) Kuro Nissan 350z - I'd waited ages to finally get a decent sporty car. I'd chosen the zed over a load of other cars including a 330, TT,S2K, boxster etc etc. After writing off Westway Nissan's demo on a test drive I was hooked! I looked for months for my perfect zed. One saturday morning my Mrs was preparing to paint the spare room, I saw an ad with no pics as it was that new they hadn't even had time to upload them. It was exactly was I was after; Kuro, Rays, alezan, Sat nav, GT ~£21k, after 3 mins on the phone I was on my way to London. 4 hours later I was back in it Later sold it to Paul T who has turned it into the green machine!!!! 6) UY Nissan 350z - I wanted to add the Nismo kit and rims to the Kuro but at over £5k all in, I thought it was a waste of money so I sold the kuro and used the money to get the UY with the kit alreay fitted. Loved this car so much and still miss it to this day. I bought it the day I got back from a holiday in Portugal. Landed at 9am in Brum, made my Mrs drive 4 hrs to Newcastle to pick it up and 4 hrs back Never thought I would sell it and always knew that nothing within £20k of the price I'd paid for it would tempt me away, the only other car that really evoked uncontrollable desire and palpataions was the Gallardo. I went self employed, set up a few companies and built my business plans around buying one before I was 28. 7) Lamborghini Gallardo - Finally got one just after I was 28. The single best purchase I have ever made. The whole ownership experience was out of this world. The attention it draws is unbelieveable. The performance is on another level, the noise was to die for. Not a lot of women know a lot about cars, but trust me, every woman knows what a Lamborghini is I mourned for that car longer than I have ex girlfriends I loved that car but I hate losing money even more. I'm still in touch in with the owner and he offered it me back a few months ago for £28k less than I sold it him, which is a hit I was glad to not be the one taking! I will have another one, just have to convice my Mrs to get back to work first 8) BMW M3 - This was the best compromise I could find for the Mrs once we found out she was preggers. It was rear seats, its fast enough to keep me interested and it has rear seats for the sprog. Best of all it only cost £9k so whilst the economy falls to pieces I'm saving (my mrs doesn't know this bit ) for something special in the near future
  15. In my opinion, no. It almost blends into the back ground.......
