  1. M I A ......... ? stupid boy!
  2. Anyway - has anybody found Sgt. Wilson yet?
  3. to the forum. I'm sure you'll love the new car. Your old one looks in great nick. Lots of mods?
  4. You'd better go look in your lexicon, Andy. I think you meant hysterics.
  5. A silver JDM coupe - parked there a few times recently. I carded you, so hopefully we'll see you on here soon.
  6. Some nice roads on there. We should try to get something going for next year.
  7. Exactly - and that's the point really. There are plenty of cars that can be made to go faster than a Z, but they still look awful by comparison. As Martin says, his was still an Astra, after all.
  8. Don't know why I'm laughing, mind you - I've less than four years to go to join you!
  9. That's a great write up and excellent pictures. Glad you enjoyed the trip.
  10. They quite often appear on eBay, but they come from Nissan unpainted. I got mine done locally for about £60, I think.
  11. Thanks everybody - I feel better now. :bye:
  12. Yes - after nearly 18 months of owning the Z, at last. You were in a silver JDM coupe, going towards Stirling on the A91 at around 12:30 today. I flashed the lights and waved, and you waved back. It's a bit sad that I feel quite chuffed about something like that, isn't it?
  13. Don't worry about going down the import route, just be careful about your choice of importer. I am delighted with mine, as are many others on here. Have a good search across the site and I'm sure all your questions will be answered. I know I am a lot older than you, and that makes a difference to insurance costs. However, there are a fair number of insurers that are happy to provide cover for imports at a reasonable cost. My premium at the moment for the Z is a lot less than the last premium I paid for my Honda Prelude, for example.

    First ESR picture!!

Well done, Andy. No more than you deserve for all the work you put into the Z.
  15. Yes - with you there all the way Nixy. Kids these days get too much done for them - let him work out the problem himself.
  16. Sorry, Nixy, I've just picked up on this thread. I don't have a clock setting on my import either - the sequence I have is just as you describe it. I bought a cheap after market digital clock which I have mounted in my sat-nav bracket in the cubby. I just remove on the odd occasions when I need to use the sat-nav.

    2007 / 2008 quote

Admiral would not quote me for my JDM when I got it last year, but I renewed with them this year (April) no problem - good price too (£280 for a 56 year old with 10 years NCB in a low postcode area).
  18. to the forum. I agree with all that's already been said about checking tyres and wheel balance before looking for anything else. Nixy also raises a very good point about the Jap limiter - the effect of that is a distinct judder when it starts to cut in after 112 mph (on the track or private road, of course).
  19. My list has some similarities, for the same reasons. - Morris Minor, Austin Mini, Ford Escort Mk 1, Austin Maxi, Morris Marina, Marina Estate, Datsun Stanza, Rover 200, Renault 21, Lancia Thema, Lancia Thema 16V, Renault Laguna 1.8, Renault Laguna 2.0, Honda Prelude 2.0, Honda Prelude 2.2, Nissan 350Z. I loved the Lancias, and my wife had a couple of Deltas around the same time. Don't ask what possessed me to buy 2 Marinas - they were dire! I've just remembered that the first car in that list that was genuinely reliable for long journeys was the Stanza.
  20. This morning - passed me on the way there (I was walking!). JDM with personalised plates (ST ...) Anyone on here?
  21. Friday afternoon. An azure UK coupe parked up at West Lothian Golf Club, and a GM coupe heading out of town early afternoon. I waved, but no response.
  22. Congratulations - thoroughly deserved to win.
