  1. Would be a waste of my time - the first British singles chart was published in NME in November 1952, a year after I was born. I think that wins the age prize so far.
  2. Halfords also sell a Comma AC cleaner - it is a spray in a can which you activate inside the car with the AC on full blast on recycle. It works - removed the stale smell from mine very effectively.
  3. Is that the standard rocker switch which is left to fold in, right to fold out and middle to do nothing? So you switch it to the right (fold out) and when you lock the car they fold in automatically? Anyone else confirm this? Stueys is an import like mine Mine's an import too, but I have to fold them in manually with the switch.
  4. Nixy, is this you? Pay no attention to the bad man, Nixy. My sunglasses won't fit in the holder either - it's too narrow for modern glasses!
  5. There is a huuuuge area behind there, as I realised last weekend when sound deadening it all. Near enough a full interior out job for the back of the car. Unforunately though, the storage door from a left hand drive car wouldnt work as the door is built into the whole rear panel with the cig lighter and BOSE hatch etc all in. Shame as that would be a great idea The door on the passenger side cubby seems to be the same size and shape (at least it is on my JDM). Would it be possible to fit one of these to the driver's side?
  6. And the hidden force that puts a smile on the face of the driver.
  7. Thanks Martin. Yes - we were hardly an hour back home today when the heavens opened. It's a lovely evening up here at the moment, though. Might manage to play with the Z a bit before going back to work on Monday.
  8. I had a similar problem recently, despite using Adaware, Spybot search and destroy, Agnitum Outpost and Norton security. Norton alerted me to it but could not fix it. I downloaded Spyware Doctor and it sorted it out no problems.
  9. Hi all. Just got back from Oz, with no alarms on the return trip. The Brisbane police were still holding one of the Glasgow bomb suspects when we left, and it was noticeable how airport security has been increased - queues and delays everywhere. I was surprised at how few Zs I saw in just over three weeks in Queensland, and almost all of them were in and around Brisbane. We spent a week in Port Douglas and Cairns and did not see one throughout that time. Mind you, given the state of the roads as you go further north, it would not be a sensible choice of vehicle for most people. The most popular choices in most areas seem to be the "utes" that most people favour. The Aussies do like their big V6s and V8s though. I did see quite a few VR6 Monaros, many of which were clearly their owners' pride and joy. The one thing I did not see was rain - clearly all of the world's supply has been retained by the UK over the past three weeks! Now to try to sift through hundreds of threads to catch up with all the gossip. It's good to be back!
  10. Thanks Tim. It was blue skies, sunny and warm today, but cold tonight. The jet lag is kicking in so I'm off to bed now. More Z hunting tomorrow.
  11. Hi all, Visiting my daughter in Brisbane, and have yet to see a Z. She tells me she hardly sees any round here. We left Glasgow on Saturday at 3:15 pm, just as the attempted bombers were at work apparently. It seems we were very lucky to get away. Just glad nobody was hurt. Sorry if this has been covered in another thread, but I haven't been able to search through 220 unread posts.
  12. Great news Nixy - glad it all worked out fine. Enjoy the Z.
  13. I'm really sorry to hear about this, Nixy, and I hope that it all works out fine for you in the long run.
  14. I'm still interested, Tim, despite my reference to the polished finish. I don't really mind about the finish, but I think these plates do make a difference to the appearance of the engine bay as well as possibly improving the airflow and cooling.

    IT'S HOME!

easy Val. Nixy has only bought a Z and not some rubber outfit Just you wait till Nixy gets home and reads this thread.
  16. I bet you're not the only one that has done that - I have several favourite shop windows where I know I can get a really good reflection of the Z as I go past. Come on guys - own up!
  17. Reminds me of my son's friend, who lives in a respectable part of Edinburgh. He looked out the window one evening to see a very middle class-looking family, all on their bikes, making their way along the street. The young mother was obviously p$$ed off that they were having to go around his car, which was parked half out into the street because of the large bins which the city council insists on using these days. She was so incensed, apparently, that she took out her keys and slowly and deliberately ran one of them right along the length of his car, as he watched helpless from three floors above. Not for long .... straight out the door, down the stairs, into the car and gave chase! To cut a long story short, he lost them that evening, but caught them another night. Yes, that's right - they came back along the exact same route at the same time! He had already reported her to the police, so he called them again, made a citizen's arrest until they arrived and then he pressed charges. Result!

    SVA test

I bought mine from an importer, who had the SVA done as part of the deal. I know they definitely had to convert the speedo to MPH and add the rear fog light (they fitted it into the existing housing so it looks fine). I don't know about the lights. Mine are Xenon units, and they are stock as far as I know. What may have happened is that they had to change to ordinary units for the test, then replace the Xenon units afterwards. I think there is something about that on one of these threads on here. One thing to make sure of is that you get the BIMTA certificate with the car - that guarantees the mileage on the car at auction in Japan as genuine. All the best with it, and I hope you get a good one.
  19. At that price, I might be interested, especially if it had a polished finish.
