  1. I have the switch on amp lead connected, but nada. The other prob I may have is that the PAC ROEM has hog & low freq wires for say the Front right i.e. 4 wires (+ve & -ve of each) and only one front right coming out of the back of the HU. Do you join the PAC ROEM cables together and just send them in the one lump? Or ignore one pair?
  2. Does anyone know what the one extra connection to get the BOSE amp turned on is. I've spent bthe best part of today fitting this stuff. I have the PAC - ROEM to sort out the impedence and the PAC - SWI Jack to control the stereo from the wheel. I'm getting desperate now. I know someone posted earlier that the earth had to be properly grounded, but I think I've done that. P.S. Many thanks to Rob for the How-to guide on fitting the PAC-SWI, but can anyone give me a dig out on this last part of my prob. The JVC KD-BT1 powers up and functions well, but it's all picture and no sound right now. Ta in advance

  4. I'd be pretty interested in the rear view cam, but am now wondering if I spend enough time in the car to warrant watch a vid one it. I have dozens of DivX films, so the region thing wouldn't be a problem. Do you find you spend much time in front of a 7.5" screen watch vids? I am in the US weekly, so again, not too affected by the region 2 setting and re faults, I can easily return stuff to the shop. I have found however, that most products sold in the US come with pi$$-poor warranties, often only covering 90 days of workmanship & parts, then only parts fro the next 9 months left in the warranty. I hadn't noticed the frequency thing, I'll check it out in the next few days in the US. The main reason I would buy stateside is cos of the weakness of the dollar. It does represent very good value right about now
  5. If you'd rather just replace the motor, PM me and I can get a motor for around $180 (I think)next time I'm in the States and FedEx it to ya
  6. Click below to fix broken windows, slow winding and no winding electric motors. Hope this helps. I'm over the moon that my new (to me) car is bak 100% I can't upload the whole file in one posting, so I'll post the 2 photos first and then the word doc. If a moderator / admin-er can put this right & join these 2 pictures with the rest of the "how to", I'd be grateful [/img]
  7. I'm regularly in the US and was thinking of upgrading my BOSE system. Do you know if the RDS is completely incompatible with the UK radio systems? I was pretty set on picking up the Alpine IVA-W205 (think the 5 denotes US market) until I saw your posting on the JVC. Did you get it hooked up with the steering wheel controls and the phone kit?
  8. Cheers fellas. Now which one is best or are they all much of a muchness?
  9. Do you know if there is a guide to greasing the slides on the window mech? Also if the motor is gone, will the regulator need replacing too?
  10. Thanks for moving it...didn't know if it would go under mods, general or technical. Guess I'll just have to remeber to flick the switch EVERYTIME I park the car. Thanks guys
  11. Lomoto, I tried the above for a window that was winding up & down painfully slowly, then clicking only and now nothing happens. I assume by "MANUALLY ROLL the window all the way down" you mean to do so with the switch & electrics? Is there something I'm missing or another way to roll the window when the power is gone? thanks for any gen in advance... p.s loved the slideshow of your car. How did you get the wing mirrors to retract with the central locking?
  12. It's 0250! Just back from Chicago and can't sleep. Spent the last 3 hrs on this website...it's great. Do you get the same quality reception with the stubby?
  13. Hi folks. Just joined today. Got a '04 350Z GT last month and am looking at changing a few things. I would like to have the wing mirrors retract when I leave my car at the work car park. It's full of biffs swinging their doors open into the bodywork of adjacent cars. Has anyone done this yet? Thought it would have been something they would do at the factory. Cheers
