  1. Thanks guys. Just discovered that to upload 350 images to any of these online printers is going to take hours and hours. Life is too short! I think I'll burn them to a CD and take them into Boots or Jessops.
  2. I have a large number of images that I want printed, and it's too big a job for my own printer (total size of all images is 320mb). Can anyone recommend an online service that gives good quality results? I tried to use Boots service, but the software that you need to upload the images refused to install properly so I have given up. They were cheaper than Jessops service (Snapfish) which I have used before, which is why I thought I would try them instead. Any thoughts very welcome.
  3. Actually, I did something like that. Through a colleague I made contact with a Japanese employee of Panasonic's factory in East Kilbride and got him to look at the unit for me. He was almost as baffled as I was and could not even get the clock time set on it. In the end, he concluded that the unit must have had a remote control which unfortunately did not come with the car, and it was needed to change some important settings.
  4. I dont get it.. shudnt that DVD u bought work? It was a Jap spec dvd right? hmmm.. That's what I thought, but not so. The trouble is that the message which appears on the screen is in Japanese.
  5. Competitive price, so now ordered. Thanks again for the advice. Paid a bit extra for courier delivery, given the current Royal Snail ****-up.
  6. Likewise, on both counts.
  7. Thanks guys. I use D-link kit myself, and have been pleased with various products, so I'll probably go down that route. It's for a desktop PC, by the way.
  8. I bought a cheap DVD, NTSC region 2, from eBay to try in my Jap unit, and I couldn't get it to play. I've given up but have kept the head unit as the radio works well, CDs play fine, it has a Minidisc multi player linked to it and it sounds really good.
  9. I've just got a BT Home Hub, and I need a wireless adapter for my computer. Can anyone recommend a good one, or a preferred brand? There seem to be dozens of them available, and I don't have any way of narrowing down the choice apart from price.
  10. What, the kid or the car?

    de cat

De-cats are basically a pipe to replace the cats, this removes the restrictive flow in the exhaust, some cars benefit from this and some don't. It does sometimes have a trade off in that it can reduce torque at the lower end. Pardon me for being ignorant or pedantic, but does removing the cats and replacing them with straight pipes not mean that the car is spewing out untreated gases into the atmosphere? If so, you should all be ashamed of yourselves. Also, is it not illegal? Would the car fail the MOT?
  14. Having read your latest posts, I am definitely not going back to MacKays. I got my last service done locally, at Muirhall Motors in Larbert, and I am happy with the work they did. They've serviced both of our cars for a couple of years now and I think they are honest traders with a couple of good mechanics. Mind you, if I ever want to trade this one in and get another Z, I'm struggling to find an importer anywhere north of the border now. It would have to be an import because I need the tiptronic box.
  15. There are a number of manufacturers who sell wax products for alloy wheels, and some of them do seem to help prevent the dust from sticking. It's therefore easier to clean them up. I am currently using Turtle Wax Extreme Wax for Wheels, and I think it makes the alloys a bit slippier. Mind you, a good auto wax would probably achieve much the same result.
  16. Thanks for the warning about the stereo wiring. I have a problem with the power socket, which I intend to get a local auto-electrician to look at. I'll get them to check the wiring at the same time.
  17. What - a race, or a comparative review?

  20. Mine's similar too - done by the importer.
  21. When I bought my car from MacKays in Edinburgh, I seem to recall that they said that they could offer leather seats from somewhere local, for £500. I saw a sample of them and they looked good - I sometimes wish I had taken up the offer then. They may be able to put you on to the supplier.
