  1. Haven't heard that one in years - nice one Tim.
  2. I thought the "Scratch Guard Coat" sounded even more interesting - self-healing paint?
  3. No. it's the next 26, and I know! Congratulations anyway and many happy returns. Any advance on 26 No, but close at 2/3 rds my age with the BIG 60 next March so what you moaning about Dan - at 40 you are only just a whippersnapper ....... you oldies make me laugh you post like teenagers Didn't you know the 60's are the new teens. Thats what my mum and dad say when they are on a dance floor at a wedding or a special event, thinking they are really hip and 60, yep totally shameful, quick someone pass me the shotgun And one day that will be you too - quite a thought isn't it?
  4. Gus That's my usual practice too - it's just the thought of having to repair/replace such an expensive item. I'll check out the price match at JL - that might save some cash. Thanks for the tip.
  5. One further question for everybody - most of the online suppliers of TV sets like these offer good prices, but only the 1 year manufacturers warranty. A typical 3 year extended warranty will cost around £175 and a 5 year warranty will cost around £250-£300. Does anyone think an extended warranty is necessary/sensible, or is it a total waste of money?
  6. Thanks for these thoughts Andy. I have now decided to go for the Samsung, having looked at dozens of sets in different outlets to compare. The contrast ratio is only 8000:1 in the 37" set, compared to your 15000:1 in the 40". Nevertheless I have been impressed buy the picture quality even with ordinary broadcast inputs. Unfortunately I am a bit limited in the space I have for the set and a 40" is just a bit too big.
  7. I test drove a UK car before I bought my JDM, and it is my impression that the JDM has firmer suspension. It certainly rattles your jaw if you go over a big bump.
  8. No. it's the next 26, and I know! Congratulations anyway and many happy returns.
  9. Congratulations Sarnie. You can afford a car like the lambo, yet you've still got plenty of time to spend on here. I'm obviously in the wrong job.
  10. My experience was similar, but I have not been asked for the certificate by the insurers (Admiral).

    Nissan Quashqai

Yes - we like the new CRV too, but the budget will be a bit tight, so we will probably look for a used car, albeit nearly new, and the squash cow is a good bit cheaper that the CRV.
