Hi Guys, I just met up with FrankieZZ and he had some really good things to say about the 350Z UK people Anyways, a local 350Z guy sponsored a small BBQ today supporting The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for a few generous 350Z and G35 people that donate yearly to the cause.. Here are some pix.. I organized it by car owner.. The first few pics were a little bit difficult because it was high noon but as the day wore on, the lighting and the pics got a little better.. enjoy! 2. 3. Thanks for the very warm welcome guys! I'm really looking forward to seeing some of your rolling shots when you guys give it a try It's my favorite type of picture.. a car in it's natural element! --mike
  4. yeah i did have cruise control .. not any more no matter, i rarely used it anyways --mike
  5. I'm on AIM.. leemiks .. because someone already had leemik haha The 18-55mm might be usable on a cropped sensor camera.. I shot most of my early rolling shots @17mm + cropped sensor .. FYI, If you don't understand what I'm talking about, most of the affordable DSLRs have a 1.6x cropped sensor.. they are "widescreen" not 4:3 like a traditional camera.. you have to pay a lot of one of those traditionals so a 17mm lense on a cropped sensor camera is actually equivalent to 27.2mm my advice is to just try it, if it don't work, just move a half lane over --mike
  6. ball park price is about $650 USD .. My handbrake always went that high .. dunno..
  7. yes, your shutter speed would be 1/45th of a second..
  8. Thanks for the warm welcome It's a DEFI VSD Concept II HUD.. it connects to a DEFI Link II Version 2.0 controller box.. I think it may be discontinued tho.. They are replacing it with a DEFI VSD Concept X I think. I get the speed signal from the Z33 speed sensor wire directly to the VSD Concept.. but to get RPM I tapped the ECU and goes through the DEFI Link II .. you must get version 2.0 of the DEFI link II box for this to work.. I like the HUD a lot.. it does have some shortcomings tho.. RPMs are slow to react like a half second.. meaning it will not work well as a shift light.. and it doesn't support manifold boost pressure or wideband O2.. which are the two most common gauges when you FI.. maybe the new DEFI VSD Concept X takes care of this? I don't have any specs on it.. --mike
  9. no problem on the photo stuff, just ask away.. I don't keep secrets like some photographers do.. The shutter has to be slow enough to show blur in the wheel and road .. a fast shutter will just freeze the car on the road making it appear as though the car is parked--not exactly a rolling shot.. but too slow of a shutter and it will be very hard to get a sharp picture.. I'm using a Canon 20D with a variety of lenses.. mostly the Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 and Canon 10-22mm f/3.5 for the rolling shots.. With a wide angle lense, I can get the whole car from the next lane over. --mike
  10. Got this from Adam and Kwame @ Z1Auto.com .. best price on the internet.. Installation was very easy.. I followed the uninstallation of the stock steering wheel here: http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/Steering ... ol_Install ..and installed it by just guessing at which part goes where lol (there were no instructions) but it's easy as the parts only fit one way... One tip when aligning the wheel is make sure it's pointing straight when you put it on (not locked to the right).. it makes aligning easier.. everything else is very straight forward. 11. Hi Guys, Adam told me to join up so here I am I'm the owner of that car.. thanks for all the comments! It took a little over 3 years to get the car to this point.. Most of the parts were purchased and imported through Z1Auto and installed either by myself or at http://www.dentsport.com ... Adam is right, those pics are old already..any picture of my car that is 3 months old is out of date! I started getting serious with photography last year and I like taking pictures of all cars.. Many of you seem to like the rolling shots... Here's my "secret" for doing them: 1. Have your friend match your speed as closely as possible... 2. Put the camera in shutter priority mode 3. Set the shutter to approx 1/(speed of car) and shoot away! 4. You may have to snap off 50 photos in a row to get like 10-20 sharp ones.. Ideally you should be the passenger in a car while taking the photos but this is how i do most of them lol ..of course adjust your ISO as necessary.. the tunnel shot was taken at very high ISO because it was rather dark. Try not to shoot in direct sunlight.. a cloudy day or sunset is best for rolling shots.. here is my flickr account if you want to see more of my pics in teh past year http://www.flickr.com/photos/33858688@N00/ cheers! --mike
