  1. Can you clarify this? edit - just had a look at the eBay site and it makes it clear that these mirrors can replace the standard items on most cars, although some need an adaptor. Installation looks straightforward if you don't mind messing about with the headliner.
  2. Bloody hell, hello stranger What you up to in Tokyo, Sarnie? Hiding from you Jim because he owe's you an explanation. http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic ... 5&start=45 Mind you, we'll not be laughing if he comes back with a GTR.
  3. I am confused Sarnie http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic ... =scratched Well done, Beavis. I had forgotten about Sarnie's rant. As Tim says, it's not really about the Z, though mine is very special to me, and I look after it very carefully. However, I have felt strongly about this with every car I've owned. To me, it's not "just a car".

  5. They've gone already! Just too slow today (got the cold). Anybody know where else to source these?
  6. Derek's right about the Arnold Clark connection and I wouldn't trust my car to their mechanics either, with a few rare exceptions (I know a manager at one of the Volvo dealerships and I can get straight answers from him). However, Sir Arnold does not like adverse publicity, so it might be worth considering writing to him direct, mentioning this forum for starters. I have also heard that the bodyshop in Bathgate that Derek mentioned does very good work. I hope you get a decent outcome.
  7. If I'm in the office I park it at the station and take the train, mainly because the parking in Glasgow is impossible. If I'm out and about, I sometimes take the Z, depending on the weather, traffic and the likelihood of having to park in dodgy territory. Sometimes use hire cars, since we're encouraged to do so - it's cheaper apparently. The result is that I do low mileage (currently 36,000 and it's an 03 model), but I enjoy the miles I do. The one downside to Z ownership is constantly worrying about some lowlife scratching it or careless barstewards banging their doors into it in car parks. At the station I always park at the farthest end of the car park, leaving many spaces between me and the nearest car, yet there's always somebody parked next to me when I get back, even though there are lots of free spaces. What is it with people - herding instinct?
  8. I saw a slightly different version of that recently on the web - it was headed Dear Mom, and finished Love John, but almost everything else was word for word. Still enjoyed it again, though.
  9. I knew you had it in you Ha ha I read only sarnies adjustment and thought my god Nixys a saint Damn - I wondered what Sarnie was on about too. As he says, must sharpen up!
  10. I didn't think it was stupid and it helped to clarify something for me and I've been around a lot longer than you +1 I bet there were quite a few who read this and understood something for the first time. One of the great benefits of a forum like this is that information is shared so effectively because people like you are prepared to ask the so-called "daft laddy" questions. I didn't know what a pop charger was either when I first read about them on this forum over two years ago, but I didn't have the guts to ask the question right away. I worked it out after reading lots of posts and putting two and two together.
  11. especially the second one.

    Help needed

You need a specific coded key to disarm the immobiliser AFAIK, hence the expense.
  13. This sounds good - what about some pics?
  14. Where did you get your Nismo 19s?

    jdm servicing

+1 I get mine serviced at a local garage that I trust. It's going in on Wednesday in fact for its annual refreshment (5 litres of Opie's best, new pads from Big Phil etc)
  16. Thanks Tim - still thinking about a retrim, but a new car for her indoors has set things back a bit meantime.
  17. One of my mates must have been looking in these mirrors a lot, cause he's dim as hell!
  18. By manual dimming mirror, do you mean the standard unit?
  19. why not just get your seats recovered in leather ? or get another set and do the same (keep your originals for when you sell the car and get your money back on the leather ones ) Tim, when you take the seats out I assume you have to disconnect the connections to the airbag etc. So what happens when you re-install the seats - is there a resetting procedure required? Pardon my ignorance in this area.
  20. Except he is still alive and potentially contributing to the gene pool. Maybe an honourable mention though.
