  1. I like the last suggestion, but I'm afraid the Wales run is not possible for me. Thanks for the helpful advice, though. I'll have a look for the phone and see if I can dig it out. I left it at my old dears house when I moved out in Sept last year so she might have chucked it out I'd be more than happy to pay in full for the postage if you do find it.

  3. Been away for a week and just catching up. That was
  4. Hoping some of you can advise me. My wife is looking to upgrade her O2 mobile phone to take advantage of the fact that her new car (Nissan Qashqai) has built-in Bluetooth (which works really well with my phone). Her current phone is not compatible, but she can't upgrade on her current contract until she has had it for 12 months (in July). I wondered if it would be possible to get hold of a bluetooth handset and just swap the sim card over. Would that work? Or is there a complication about the handset needing to be unlocked or some such nonsense. If it would work, where's the best place to get a decent handset without paying too much for it?
  5. I could almost see it coming but still enjoyed it.
  6. Spotted this afternoon in Bellsdyke Road, Larbert at around 13.45. First time I've seen one in the flesh. It was silver and looked very
  7. My wife just came into the room and caught me looking at that site. Now I'm in big trouble!!!
  8. Funniest thing I’ve read in weeks. If true please explain. +1 Or have I totally misunderstood how alternators work! I agree also about all the muppets who drive with no lights on in very poor light - do they think that they are running down their battery if they put their lights on?
  9. Sorry to bump this thread again, but my car is going in for a service soon and I too was wondering whether or not to change the plugs. It's an early '03 JDM with 36000 miles. Any advice as to whether it's advisable to change them? Also, what's the difference between platinum- and iridium-tipped plugs? Are iridium ones supposed to be better? I notice on the site mentioned above that the iridium plugs are a bit cheaper (£7.49 as opposed to £8.39 each) The iridium plugs suit the car much better £6.50 each for Denso and kept n stock. Thanks, Phil - might be in touch again soon.

  11. Mods - I'm having some problems with pms. There are two sitting in the outbox and they've been there for over half an hour. Why the delay in transmission?
  12. Well done Chris - a most welcome addition to the site.
  13. replied Sorry Phil - no PM received yet. Did you get my Paypal payment?
  14. there meant to be under the dash board where your pedals are aren't they? i could be wrong though but that usually where they are located. That's what I would have thought too, but they are literally just lying on the floor at the end of the wire. As said, I can't see anywhere obvious to attach them. I seem to remember that it was live2themaxuk that found out what the switch was for - maybe he can check to see where they should be located.
  15. I had a look at the footwell lights today and they are just lying underneath the seats on the floor. Does anyone know where they should be located? There are a couple of lugs on the cover which suggest they should be attached to something, but I can't see what.
  16. Just had a look at the member's map - it's surprising how many regulars have not added themselves to it. There are a fair number in Scotland. There's George near you in Aberdeen, Roy in Arbroath, Chiz in Dundee, Burgershot in Haddington, Gus in Edinburgh, Alex in Livingston, DerekZR in Whitburn, kopaloadofthis_z_ in Shotts, Vern in Falkirk, Walt Black in Alloa, Craig in Glasgow, Revsport in Paisley, Mack in Kilmarnock, Paul in Saltcoats, Mr Santiago in Greenock and Mordax in Portree. That's only the ones shown on the map - there are a fair few other members on the list.
  17. You'll maybe have to pm some of the Scots members to stir up more interest. Gus and Chris (Funkystyling) used to be regulars on here but they haven't posted much recently, so they may not have seen this thread.
  18. Last time I was in the Applecross area (and before anybody says anything, it was nearly 30 years ago) there was no road north of Applecross. If you wanted to get from there to Cuaig you had to go by boat or all the way back and round through Shieldaig. There was track of sorts but I think only Land Rovers used it at that time.
  19. Yes - depending on my schedule at the time, since I see that September is looking like the favoured choice at the moment.
