  1. My thanks to Dave in return - reckon we make a good team, eh And just 3 other mentions, - firstly ChrisS who helped me enormously with the route planning (and his 'marshaling' on the Sunday) - although having done some recces it was his local knowledge, and particuarly after the damage to roads from last winter, that helped us to find some different roads, which I hope you agree offered some spectacular scenery as well as giving some great driving pleasure? Secondly, to Alex Wyatt, the manager at Moreton, who was so encouraging and helpful and arranged a new hose set-up for us after I had said how fastidious we were on the cleaning front . Also to his staff who pulled out the stops to make it such a great weekend. Having checked with the reception manager on leaving, you will be pleased to hear they received no complaints about our 'takeover' of their site and thought we were a great bunch Lastly, but most importantly, to my wife June who not only helped me get things ready for the weekend but put up with me spending most of spare time for a few weeks beforehand preparing for the weekend and then when I take her there I am off leaving her alone That is, until I take her on the drives and and say don't get us lost whilst exploring the 370's handling Fortunately, she could just hang on and be 'look out' as the sat nav in the 370 worked spot on to keep us on route - might have to encourage a few others to but 370's now so they don't lost, mentioning no names neil Seeing everyone's comments made all the hard work so worthwhile and both Dave and I feel really bouyed by the kind words, especially after a difficult moderating period when the winter seemed to create boredom postings that tested our patience - you never know after this weekend we may have convinced his resgination was little premature - I for one sincerely hope so. October - well if we get enough requests - who knows......and perhps we can pick the best parts of the weekends routes and that we did last October - how do I break it to June
  2. I'm 99% certain that on UK coupe ZEDs you cannot remote lock the car and cancel the alarm. And yes, wind is the thing that sets off the alarm - on a still day chances are it may not go off with the windows open. Not sure if roadster owners have something different though? Taping up the sensors may work but a a bit if a fag to keep taping/untaping. I find by setting the air-con to max and windows down for a few minutes will make the interior more bearable before getting in and driving off.
  3. Unlocked at OP's request who now advises it is unsold
  4. Im leaving the bugs on mine, I see them a little like go-faster stripes + they cover up some of the many stone chips I have recently acquired I see you kept one that survived
  5. Thought I would get in first as I am always the last back Ready for the off tomorow
  6. After 4 coats of supernatural wax and following a thorough polish, a gentle wash is all it needs to get me through this weekend
  7. But just giving it one The car a wash for the trip to Wales of course

  9. Not so black and white then Here is the Mercedes statement in full: "On the final lap of the 2010 Monaco Grand Prix, MERCEDES GP PETRONAS instructed our drivers, Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg, to race from safety car line one until the finish line as permitted under articles 40.7 and 40.11. MERCEDES GP PETRONAS were fully aware of article 40.13 which states that no overtaking is permitted if the race finishes under safety car conditions. However we believed that the combination of the race control messages 'Safety Car in this lap' and 'Track Clear' and the green flags and lights shown by the marshals after safety car line one indicated that the race was not finishing under the safety car and all drivers were free to race. This opinion appears to have been shared by the majority of the teams with cars in the top ten positions who also gave their drivers instructions to race to the finish line. It was clear from our discussions with the stewards after the race that they understood the reasons for our interpretation and acknowledged that this was a new and previously untested situation but ultimately disagreed with our interpretation. MERCEDES GP PETRONAS would like to emphasise that we fully support the inclusion of past drivers on the stewards panel and are completely satisfied that the Monaco Grand Prix stewards acted professionally, impartially and properly in this matter. The FIA has agreed to include article 40.13 on the agenda of the next Sporting Working Group for discussion and to consider the scale of post race penalties. We believe that the 20 second penalty imposed on Michael to be disproportionate in the circumstances. Whilst we cannot be happy with the outcome, we are pleased that the FIA has recognised the reasons for our interpretation. Therefore in the best interests of the sport, MERCEDES GP PETRONAS will not be submitting an appeal."

  17. .........and at that point I hope you jumped in and horsed it away aswell! If they are not going to report you!....game on. Honest guv, the car I was driving was not stolen
  18. If it were stolen he would probably be stealing the fuel too. Having said that, way back I once saw someone prising a locked petrol cap off at a petrol station, after the driver realised he needed a key and then went about searching his pockets and inside the car - thought nothing of it, in my innocence, as I was filling up my car but then after he had filled up he jumped in the car and sped off without paying. Attendant said it was a regular thing with stolen cars and they didn't bother reporting it (it was before the days of cameras) as they knew they wouldn't get their money
  19. Not easy times - sorry to see you go, but hope to see you back
