  1. Welcome to the forum As you are in Surrey it would be great to se you at one of the meets. If interested, pm me
  2. I will be giving mine a good run tomorrow to see if the squealing has reduced. I hope it has as it was really annoying me. If not I may see a specialist brake place and ask for some advice. If not try and find some front brake shims. The ones that were on the original front pads were stuck to the pad, so just re-used them. The rears had their own small metal shims. Might see if it's possible to get hold of the front metal ones? Ian: Giiven how you like to drive your ZED (including the 'ring ) and it carries some extra boost then maybe these would be good investment and hopefully solve the squealing..... viewtopic.php?f=32&t=28634&hilit=shims
  3. Chris`I picked up his quartz 370 (believed to be the first one) in time for the Wales 1 drive outs on 22/23 May
  4. No, but Chris`I has viewtopic.php?f=103&t=37168

  6. Have you guys checked this thread out (see last post): viewtopic.php?f=59&t=34313&hilit=shims and ZMANALEX has an ultimate solution.......... viewtopic.php?f=32&t=28634&hilit=shims but also some good advice: The brake pad shims are there for numerous reasons and should be refitted when brake pads are changed. On the UK Brembo set up the oem pads have shims fitted to the rear of the pads but there is also a floating shim that should be refitted. Just simply tell the garage to reuse the existing floating shims. The "how stuff works" link will explain it further. Please read both pages as the second page relates to heat dispensation and heat shield issues. http://auto.howstuffworks.com/auto-part ... -shims.htm Alex.
  7. I kinda think Nissan saw a need to up the bhp for sales reasons and having 'trialed' it with the GT4's the feedback (straight line/track/media testing) was good but then I wonder if the engine manufacture/tolerances was changed for the facelift versions, hence the oil consumption issue not seeming to be an issue on the GT4's? I always remember Big Phil saying that best engines in his opinion were those made for the first ZEDs in 2002/2003, but having said that all the ZED engines are as bullet-proof as any and with good maintenance they go well into 6 figures mileage-wise as a number of owners have testified on here.
  8. Great buy for someone and the best colour too
  9. What did you prefer about your MY03 to MY06, or was it just it was your first love? Primarily the torque characteristics of the 276 seemed better suited to the 350 on the B roads and I was also concerned at the oil consumption of the 296 - OK that may not be a long term issue but when the previous ZED used zero oil between services it just didn't feel right and what with the absolute dipstick who designed it - checking the actual oil level was never the easiest of tasks. The 'facelift' improvements that came with the MY06 were a good step up but overall as I have the car for the driving pleasure it came back to the power delivery, for me.
  10. My 370 was the first rgva did - snow on the ground and took two guys around 2.5 hours each - one working on the front one working on the back. Price reflected the 'trial' application (which I am very, very pleased with) - so is possibly not representative of follow up jobs. I should add that when I said the price I was charged was about a third of the single item the OP has mentioned, that was both the front and back wrapping. Therefore suggest you pm KJ. for a price.
  11. Yes and the answer is no. I prefer the more subtle changes and where I thought they were needed. Or course the wrap does not work so well on dark colours but at the time the choice for me was, without question, Storm White.
  12. If your visit is anywhere near Epsom, happy to meet up if you have time
  13. Or you can go the carbon wrap route for about a third the price, when take into account the shipping and tax Oh, and one of the front for completeness, with a close up of the finish Contact KJ on here (rgva vehicle branding) who are based in Kent and did the wrapping.
  14. Shirley????? that should read "patients ARE a virtue" EH, my name aint shirley..... haha so you can spell at the present time, so please excuse my spelling and or grammer....
  15. Sorry, Will & Graham I need a good secretary
  16. Yeah, I had a look at the "drives" you are doing. Was a little worried I might not be able to keep up (with still being a little nervous of the loud pedal on my first every RWD motor) With an old slow coach like me leading you will have no problems More seriously, we have done a lot of these now and always make a point of ensuring those new to our meets/drives do not miss out or get left behind
  17. Welcome to the forum Lee. Do you have a Zed already, or just about to? Post a hi, in the Welcome's then we can all say hi. ditto - whereabouts you based?
  18. Yeah, not sure what is going on that weekend, may be out of the country working But if not, I will pop over! Let me know up front if you are coming on the drives and will want food. Watch the threads on the WALES II weekend for further info.
  19. Come along to the drive outs on 18/19 - only just down the road from you and where you meet lots of other 350 enthusiasts and pick up as much information as you will ever need. Plus on the Saturday afternoon at our 'base' at Moreton Park Lodge, Chirk - CIB Detailers will be on hand with their products to show you how to really clean a ZED well. Details from the link in my sig
