  1. Hugh ******? I have plenty of reciepts of when he did own it username is ATTAK Z on here does look like his old car - but he had a personalised numberplate
  2. I got told off last night for spending time with her car instead of her! So you got a good spanking, eh Very thorough job done there - looks supurb and like others says the Swift Sports are great little cars.
  3. +1 ^^ what Bock says. Until the car is warmed up or in slow moving traffic a gentle two-stage 1st to 2nd shift through neutral works fine and is kinder to the synchros. Once fully warm the box comes into its own and fast changes work fine. As I was told by someone involved in the original development of the ZED for the UK the box is 'agricultural' compared to say something like a Porsche, but it has great overall strength and you rarely hear of a box going bang even with big number FI conversions. With the 370 the synchro-rev has really overcome all the gear change issues in the 350 and is no doubt going to help the lonevity of the synchros, even on the up changes it blips the throttle if the revs have died, say in slow moving traffic
  4. OK the ad is wrong and if the the car is otherwise sound that could be a good negotiating point especially if, like many, you wanted to change the Bose and are not bothered by cloth seats that you could/might also want to change aside from being lighter. Just for thoughts
  5. At 6' 2" I have found good driving positions in both the 350s and 370 and without the seat being the full way back. Have you tried lowering the squab but using the tilt up to 'bend' your legs to help get the righ balance between arm and leg length, with the backrest/lumber adjusted to suit? Never had an issue on long drives (e,g. Surrey to Scotland) underlining just what a good GT cruiser they are.
  6. DSG or manual? If the former, how did you find it? Now why didn't I think of that colour combo
  7. Not for me on a PC desktop - starts with the tram hitting a car But yes, 350's are used in rallies - quiet a few vids of them in Europe are around
  8. Welcome to the forum These links should help get you started viewforum.php?f=17 viewtopic.php?f=17&t=23843

Oh, at least I can hang on to my kidneys then
  10. Hmmmmmm...... again I find the so-called comparisons wanting He was using a base 370 on 18" wheels, no synchro rev or aftermarket exhaust and that is a quite different car to the 370 that the majority of UK owners, and certainly forum members that he was banging on about pleasing, have. Whereas the Cayman was an S version with uprated suspension and a decent aftermarket exhaust. So the 8/10 remark was bound to be the case when compared against the Porsche - which don't get me wrong is probably the best all rounder in the spec of those 3. Having sat in and had a good look around the GT86 at the Goodwood FofS, I was quite impressed but or course it was specced up for the show. The rear seats are a waste of time IMO (as with the most of 2 + 2's) and to be honest I was in two minds about the overall look - as I was with the 370 when it came out - but that was until I saw it in the flesh and got to drive one at Silverstone and on surrounding roads in 2009 - I was sold. It rather sounds like the GT86 engine is similar to a S2000 - very, very good when you rev it and playful too but for every day pleasure - will it give the grins I get with the 370 - I'm not so sure. That is where the torque of the 370 comes into its own, you can 'play' without giving the full beans and having got some tyres on (Sesstana's) that give me both that option and at the same time great grip in wet conditions and better feed back through the wheel. With a decent exhaust note and having the uprev done to improve the power delivery, even at 1500kgs it is a very enjoyable ride and without knocking the 350, it has been a very worthwhile step up for me. Would I buy a GT86 - not on the present showing (with the model tested) as I can't see it getting near to the buzz the 370 gives me. And watching him drive the EVO - he wasn't even trying - ask our local resident expert
  11. My, you like to live dangerously given who started this thread and what they drive
  12. Tax bands: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Ow ... G_10012524 Sounds like you certainly do have a pre-facelift 276 350, registered post 23 March 2006, so you get caught in the higher tax bracket
  13. Nismo exhaust has been, and still would be, my choice for a 350, given what you say Highly sought after though s/h but traders on here can supply new
  14. Your post and not the first of its kind reminded me of the following thread where the OP was convinced it was not the banana arm problem only to find out after spending money on other things that it was the BA. viewtopic.php?f=9&t=60970 As ZMANALEX points out tests may not reproduce the 'knock' to fool even experienced technicans so something to make a sticky I feel. Thread moved.
  15. Always a bit of a gutting moment watching your car drive off. Its like having someone run off with your girlfriend...... More gut wrenching than that, bunny
  16. Err.. around my way 99.9% of them do leave the road... they usually mount the pavement outside the school when they park up... very true!
  17. Welcome - but really that question is like how long is a piece of string Suggest you start here: viewforum.php?f=17
  18. How many do you want or you can just lust over mine while I lust over what I would like it to be
  19. I'm not so sure about that, when I was buying having factory sat-nav pushed the price up a bit. There are still enough people (like me) out there who want factory sat nav fitted. Agreed - there are lot more buyers out there than on this forum who have their tick boxes and a factory fitted sat nav will be on most buyers lists, in the same way most will not want a modified car. It dosen't make financial sense but that is the English for you and in the same way we still pay more for our cars than most other European countries - we are an all too easy touch.
  20. Perfect for the Chelsea tractor club
  21. Can someone advise about a good indy garage near to Jake
