My first car was a 950cc Mk2 Fiesta. Have an Elise, Zed and Volvo and keep moving between them is wwhat keeps it interesting. Volvo eats miles, quiet and got all the bells, Zed crushes the miles (at pace! ) and gives the big grin, Elise is nimble and a 'great drive' in that it's got that racing car feel to it all the time. Lucky I think, but each one has it's merits. Try the Corsa for a week and a) see if you don't need a chiropractor or; don't want to push into oncoming traffic compared to your Zed.

The Redstuff I've got on the rear of mine are miles better than the OEM fronts for brake dust. I remember you saying, i am really considering getting some for all corners as i am sick of the dust it produces EBC Redstuff, full car set £105 including delivery. Have to say that's a good price!

You're right Kev, they do put some silly underpowered engines in them. The 2.4 engine has 2 power outputs, a detuned version at 140bhp (in a car that big, idiots!) and an normal 170bhp one. Which is much much better. But it's no different to Golf SDI's or 1.4's, or BMW 520's. That's why these types of car end up being hire cars - no-one would buy them!! Try an S80 / XC90 T6 or an S60 D5. Sooo much better.

If you fancy going Swedish, let me know..... Fancy the idea of going Swedish defo , just Swedish cars I'm not too convinced about One leads to another mate!! It's a bad press I tell thee. Check out Clarkson's comments about the S60. Something along the lines of 'proof there's life outside a 3 series' - they are good cars.

Ovlovs are pretty good too in that respect. The D5 is awesome fun and the T6 (although heavy on fuel) is a twin turbo laugh!

He he, it's just that I only post up the pictures of the car when it is clean. But I'm with Louis, mine hasn't got that dirty so far. I can add th epics of the Volvo, currently white with salt!! It only takes a dozen buckets of rinse water on the mitt to get that lot off, you'll be fine!! Looking forward to seeing if anyone can beat it!! Note to self: don't come across as a cleaning geek!!

Welcome. As Mike says, some tuneable bits but it has a 'clever' ECU on it to negate the effect of any little mods. The main difference with a Zed over an S2000 is you don't have to wring the nuts off it to get going, it pulls from much lower down and it has some grip in the wet. The newer models are in a slightly higher state of tune (06 model year) with 300bhp, but extra weight means the performance is the same as the previous model. If you have a few £k to put under the bonnet, it seems that nearer 400bhp is quite attainable. Will you get 320bhp for a few hundred? No. Hope this helps.

I tried the Megs Gold Class wax on the Lotus at the weekend (just before it got trashed - again!! ) and have to say I wasn't as impressed as the Carnuba stage 3 one I used the week before on the Zed. A right pain to get off I found.

Or the new Astra. So many cars don't. As has been said above the Japanese love their golf and they probably need the sticker so that when they're on their step ladder putting the bags in the car they can see what they've got to do!
