  1. I'd replace that, and not leave my car near anyone testing out a rivet gun again!

    Flat wiper blades

I don't know what the science is behind them, but I found the Volvo (which had these as standard) always gave a perfectly even sweep, whereas the metal armed ones on any other car always seem to have lighter and heavier pressure points. They seem to be able to deal with the contours of the windscreen much better and never juddered even when worn. Just started smearing rather then clearing.
  3. Know of some great places to eat. Hotel Rivari in Kamari is where I stay and the gf goes back there every year. http://www.rivari.gr/ If you book direct they'll pick you up from the airport and drop you back there. Not to mention give you a good deal on the room prices! Five min walk to Kamari beach which is nice and laid back. Can get the 1 euro bus to Thira (Fira) or a taxi was only about 5 euros I think. Oia is nice but not overly much there. If you go into Thira town in the evenings the caldera view restaurants are pretty reasonable, but the bars cost a fortune. 12 euros for a Martini - I took a picture of that one! Overall the best Greek island I've been to. Lively in Thira as it's a main cruise port, relaxed in Kamari (even has it's own bar strip if you want it) and have never had a bad meal there.

    Sarnie's new wheels

Stock locking wheel bolts should be fine as far as I know. As for centre caps, best ask your supplier...
  5. Joining the A329 off the M4 last night at about 7pm. I was in mine but behind some Zafira type thing so may not have seen me. Went on past Winnersh Triangle towards Reading.....
  6. My traction control did the same for about 2 days when I had my wheels laser aligned etc. Not entirely sure why but I put it down to computers re calibrating themselves on whatever info it is receiving. As for the acceleration point in 1st gear I'm not sure what the point is? You want it shorter to feel faster? Longer so you hit a higher speed?
  7. bought my plate with money left to me from my Gran in her will. My dad was chuffed to bits with what I had spent it on and thought it was a great idea and he thought it was nice to see it spent on something that would last for ever. Ditto Mike, did the very same thing.

    That's nuts!!
  9. Be careful mate, they can mean more. My Nan left me just £250 that she'd saved for me when she died. I bought the plate to remember her. And 90% of people at work said the Zed looked better when I'd transferred it from my old car, for what it's worth. Didn’t consider sentimental reasons. Yep, I can see that’s something I might do in similar circumstances. Sorry about your gran young man It was years ago mate, so I seriously wasn't playing the guilt card! Just putting across another view. Just happened to be my way of dealing with it, and mixing it with cars!
  10. I have an Alpine w800 Double Din Headunit with Alpine Sat Nav to install with steering wheel control and Bluetooth Car kit to integrate. I have talked to them and they want to see the car and the kit before giving me a price. Any decent installer would mate. If the car electrics need work or they know of differing set-ups by age etc. then it's a very wise move. And the equipment itself needs to be matched to that. Still going ahead with it?
  11. One annoying, practical question, number plate mounting?? Anyone got the time / skill / inclination to photoshop one of these with a number plate on see the real picture can be seen?? Just sorting out some other toys, will let you know the order shortly mate.
  12. Thanks for the welcome. H5, have you had dealings with Sourcesounds. Sheffield is about an hour away, not to far to have a job done correctly. I competed against them for a while, and they can build sound off winning cars, and are very very capable. I've not had work done by them directly, my guys are The Sound Gallery. Just let them know that someone recommended you go to them(I used to have a green Volvo that competed). What sort of thing is it you need doing? They do anything from head units, to hydraulics powered moving twisting amps in cars.
  13. Good points guys, thanks for your input. I'll start drafting a letter when I've finished watching England 'play' South Africa. Need to calm down first. You're right, it is Steve, may as well name him. The guy who actually does the work at Slough is a nice guy, been out with him in the car and he's genuinely interested. Steve on the other hand, couldn't be less helpful if he tried. Will write to the dealer principle of Dan Perkins and also to MD at GB. Anyone got any product manager names or warranty manager names / numbers? And Mike, I will be referring to here if that's not causing any undue problems?
  14. Cheers Dicky, I'm not far from the head office so am contemplating a drive out up there soon. Anybody want to join me and we can form a peaceful protest!!! Will write too.
  15. Hi, Sheffield too far? Source are very good. http://www.sourcesounds.com/ My northern geography isn't great so apologies if it's miles!
  16. Oooh, I like those a lot, good choice!! Lets see this pic on a car then..............!!!!!!!!
  17. This months TG mag has a good write up as it does whistle stop tours of the German tuners. Worth a read! Sounds like the family spends it's money well!!
  18. Be careful mate, they can mean more. My Nan left me just £250 that she'd saved for me when she died. I bought the plate to remember her. And 90% of people at work said the Zed looked better when I'd transferred it from my old car, for what it's worth.
  19. OK, so I'm pretty close the end of my tether with this. Last year (bout 6 months ago) while still in 'primary' warranty, I asked Nissan Slough to look at my corroding wheels. They looked, said they thought it was wear and tear. I argued. Got to the point they put a 'claim' in but also let slip they also said it shouldn't go through. So they kinda scuppered that one. After a stand up argument in the dealer with the 'Service Manager' on the day before my warranty expired he finally managed to accept he should put it down a goodwill route as 'he was sorry I wasn't happy'. As it transpired, the lying gentleman he is had done very little and I had a few blank conversations with Nissan GB about the claim. It came to a head last month when I insisted on the reference number, name and telephone number of the person he had spoken to. All I got was the 0845 or whatever number and a number. Never had spoken to anyone. So, doing well not to knock him off his feet, I left the premises. At Reading, the first thing the guy said there was, you should get those done. Now on to the ineptitude of Nissan GB...... Outside 'primary' warranty, so no luck. I asked if extended would be interested, but no. So goodwill, and because the previous owner had missed it's first P2 by 4k they bounced it! Have just been on the phone for 40 mins trying to understand 3 things: 1) What would they have done had the service occurred that bit earlier anyway? 2) Why should I be suffering for lying, useless dealers that don't submit customer requests? 3) Are they saying my extended warranty (that they happily took £900 for) is useless and if so why didn't they say at the time? Answers: 1) No comment. (!!!) 2) We don't get involved in that (WTF is customer service for then!?) 3) You'd better check. (!!!!!!) I've almost lost the will with them. Anyone got any names, details or anything that can help??
  20. I've just paid £300 for my P3. But if it gets me the quality of service and help I've had from this dealer so far over the butt monkeys at the last place then I'm happy.
  21. He he, if that's your Dad's car, it's easy to see how you ended up with the Zed mate!! Nice motor!
  22. Tidy, and nicely done! If he keeps it another 5 years it'll be a full on classic!
  23. Good luck Rob, top finish and great gear. Unfortunately, I have to do it the hard way....... You got something else lined up??
  24. Thanks Sarnie and Mike - is under my beady eye although this looks as though it has parking sensors fitted....
