  1. It is pretty slippy round here at the moment mate with all the salt on the roads and we haven't had a proper rain to wash it away. I'm finding the same with the Toyo's the damp is causing a really greasy layer, so it might not just be your Michelins.
  2. Hi mate, A polish will have a cut in it and should be used before waxing, after claying / washing. AutoGlym show shine is a quick spray that you use in between monthly waxing efforts (for example) and in itself it neither a polish or a wax. More a water spot remover that adds a tiny bit to the shine. I love it in the summer to keep the car look good each day! For a polish, I'm using AutoGlym Extra Deep Shine at the moment. Designed for newer cars it works wonders over SRP. As for other polishes, I'm sure others will be along with how much or a pain AG is to use plus some other suggestions. Cheers dude, when i used the sample of AG SRP you saw the difference it made on my bonnet, does the EDS have a better and deeper shine? IMO Louis yes, it does. It needs finishing off, with a sealant / protector / glaze / wax, but it does do wonders from what I've seen.

  4. Follow the guide on how to sort the airbag light. As for brake pads, I've got the Redstuff on the rear of mine, and I find them very good, and a great value upgrade over the standard pad. Added bonus - less dust!

Having had a lot of involvement with TSW / Yokohama at my previous company, I can vouch for the quality checks etc. everything goes through. Any that aren't aware they're one and the same company, and do have a lot of pride in their products. What may or may not surprise some of you, is they actually provide a very large number of OEM wheels too. So they benefit from economies of scale to be able to bring some wheels to market pretty cheaply, with the heritage, quality and design. Just because something has a low price, doesn't make it cheap. BTW, our expensive Rays aren't great - just ask the corrosion bubbles on mine!!
  6. Annually or every 9000 miles in order to keep your warranty up to date. Usual oil checks more regularly are recommended. Welcome too!
  7. Heard a lot about Autosol, am currently on Brasso, and I tell thee it's awesome!! And very cheap from the supermarket!! The shampoo rinsing is interesting, as I find it varies massively on what state the finish inder the grime is in. If I've waxed the car recently then it comes off dead easily, if I've negelected it (2 weeks!!) then it is noticeable. Careful when comparing NXT wax to AutoGlym polish. The polish has a mild cut in it and isn't the same as a wax. Wax shouldn't have a cut in it and should add to a polished surface. So if you used the Glym polish and then the wax, the finish will be better. Completely agree on the Vinyl and Rubber care - use under the bonnet for great results! As for the NXT overall, a mate of mine did his Puma from start to finish in that and we were disappointed next to other cars. Did it again with a mix of pother products from different manufacturers and the result was stunning. Totally subjective, sad, but fun!!
  8. I found this site typing '350z forum' into Google. Might have even found the OC first but it wanted either a more complex joining set-up / money up front (I can't remember for certain before anyone shoots!) and I simply joined this one. TBH, I don't know if I've even ever looked at the OC forum, as I find this place has all I need. No idea what the issue is between the two warring factions......!! As for friendliness, I think this place was great. I think fairly early on Sarnie started taking the mick in a good natured way and it all helps relax the way new people feel. I do think that more of the experienced guys could chip in with their welcomes of new members, but it's nothing major. And I know I miss some too. Agree that all questions are answered nicely, occassionally threads get ruined with what could be called cliquey spam but that's part of forums. I'm a member of another modified car site and they're initially welcoming but then it dies away and you can be left a little bit on the outside. I love this place, it's a service, a laugh and has some great people too.
  9. Just been reading this back through, and can't find the Klasse stuff you're referring to. Am I being dense, what is it? Megs??
  10. Enter Captint and co...... Plenty of people have done this sort of thing, someone will be along with a list soon I'm sure. I think there was an offer on here recently of a single turbo for £4195 IIRC.
  11. Hardly!! It's not that expensive as noted above. But if a job is worth doing.....!!
  12. I guess it's about having the money to burn. If you've already got your Phantom and your mansion and still have £20k kicking about, why not take the tax break one year and buy an 'asset' that also adds some status (perceived it may be) to your car. As for my plate, my Nan left me some money when she died, enough to buy a plate. I was 18 so bought it as a more lasting immediate memory.
  13. You could've let Sarnie post up the pics of his new purchase himself Val.
  14. www.ba.com - great prices with trying to rebuild public confidence after all the strike threats.
  15. How do you find the finish tho Sarnie? The finish is miles better. Its deeper and much longer lasting Its just a bugger to get off if you leave it on too long Edit: That was post number 5000 Agreed, but then I only do two panels at once with it so I don't have that problem. I've seen people do a whole car in Super Resin in the heat and wonder why it's light getting sap off afterwards!! janoof1

  17. It looks to be a very good finish though Dorian, I'm still experimenting with products. Admittedly I go to somre pretty sad extremes (polish under bonnet for example! ) but like you say you've got yourself some decent products and it's got results. How do you mean no best solution? I have pics taken on the same day which don't look as shiny, so I think there is more to the variation in angle, light, exposure etc which dwarfs the differences in the finish. Perhaps if you had identical cars lined up side-by-side on the same day, you 'could' make such a judgement, I don't really know I see. Still fun to see who can get the most impressive pic up tho!!

  19. I agree, initially more of a gloss on Dorians, but then the reflections and surroundings are lighter colours. Mine was a miserable January day, but you can clearly see the garage and next door in the reflection. Will add to it and try and get a brighter day to see how it goes. And yes, that does have some nice sparkly bits on it! I will not be defeated!! Where's Ming?!
  20. Thanks Andy! Here's one from a bit further away, to give a comparison against Dorian's pic. How do you think it compares? (ambient light allowing of course!!) (Thanks for the pic Dorian!! ) I know what you mean Louis, it's fun finding out though!!
