  1. What sort of a mess must the suspension be in on the car though!!
  2. That's all part of the fun though!!
  3. I detail the car. GF details the house.
  4. I have had Jags in the past so I know what you mean about checking everything twice , I just wondered if anything specific to the S class was a problem area Nothing a major headache as far as I know. He does a lot of miles, mainly motorway and the main thing is brakes, both disks and pads. Always seem to need doing together and at one hell of a cost.
  5. The Stig's times in the M3 were the same as the Zed, and the Zed was faster than the Elise. With the power figure of the M3 being that bit greater than the Zed that would indicate the Zed has the ability to carry speed through the corners pretty well. The CSL was a bit quicker, but it doesn't weigh much so most of that is probably down to braking advantage. Reckon the Zed would be a lot of fun. Elise probably best!
  6. Check everything. Twice. Then go back again, and check it again. Another two or three times. A mate has one, full service history etc etc. And everything costs and absolute fortune to get fixed or get a part. Even non Jaguar parts. I was shocked........ Beware!
  7. But I'll know, that's the problem!! Last car, stone chips resulted in a new bonnet as I couldn't cope with a less than perfect respray!!
  8. Are we meeting up before Marc? If so, where? Drop me a text.
  9. Unless you're driving on the limits of adhesion on the road, don't worry about it!! Any of the pads will be an improvement over the standard pads, and should make for a nicer drive on the road. Go according to your budget and if you care enough get someone like Phil on board for some techy stuff!
  10. Bump! What's happening with those that are coming from Reading way??
  11. I wouldn't dare!! Will do, thanks for the offer. One day, I might even jack the 9-5 in and go do it!
  12. As Phil says, get some Ferodos or I would also recommend Red Stuff through the link on the front page of this site.
  13. Go on.. Shock me... How much did a new one cost and where did you get it from? (Im sitting down!) You'll still fall off your chair/ sofa.
  14. Don't let it get you down. At least you don't see another 30 of your car on the road every day. Just needs a bit of skill and time on our part to alert Nissan to their dozy ways!
  15. Neither me or the guy who owned it from new have any rings!
  16. I'm having exactly the same argument with Nissan GB at the moment on my handbrake. Fancy pooling resources and making these pikey g!ts pay up??
  17. and they cost phil....!! A brake upgrade on a Cayman S makes it as quick round a track as a current 911 - a 30 bhp difference. Cost that as an upgrade on the Zed! Are these that good? Get spending mate! TBH I don't know. It was just an example, but the point with the Porsche ones is a higher operating temperature.
  18. and they cost phil....!! A brake upgrade on a Cayman S makes it as quick round a track as a current 911 - a 30 bhp difference. Cost that as an upgrade on the Zed!
  19. Have you used both? In what conditions?
  20. Have to say they look Phil!
  21. I see what you're saying. It may be that some Red Stuff / DS2500's would be enough for it. IIRC, aren't the DS2500's the much more abrasive version of the DS2000's or is it the other way round? I thought one or other has eaten a set of discs on someone's car very quickly......?
  22. Depends how fast you go mate!! IMO, unless you're tracking it or taking it beyond it's limited speed, surely the Brembos in standard set-up are good enough? Unless you've experienced otherwise Bap?
  23. Or there's another option. Some of the guys on here with bigger mods to their Zed's might be able to give some more comparisons where they've used a range of products themselves.
