    gearbox strength

As Baptist said - so far so good! So, since the car had 530bhp to now.
  3. That'll be with the different shape rear number plate mount I guess? And I'd have to play around with rear foglight wiring too? Would rather a UK / Euro shape one if possible if that is the case. Didn't think this would be quite to hard!!
  4. my oem one, completely replaced and sprayed, including labour was £600.... Anyone wanna help masking a crack - budget £599 or less!! Anyone on here changing to a body kit that wants to sell their rear bumper....??
  5. I'll do it!! For a fee......

    News Flash

YES!!! Presumably the software has been used elsewhere by our Japanese or American chums?
  7. Anyone any idea how much a standard one is from Nissan? Are Holdcroft likely to be able to help? Otherwise it comes down to making use of Ian's.....
  8. Just realised my mistake As your punishment, please remove your rear bumper and courier to me....... Only if I can have your front bumper That would make for two very 'interesting' modified Zed's!!

These guys did do them but not in their shop anymore. Might be able to help source one..... http://stores.ebay.co.uk/SumoPower-ltd_ ... idZ2QQtZkm
  11. Shall I look after your Zed and scrub those Toyo's in for you?! What date is this again?! Don't wind me up - I've insured my 66yr old father and he'll be looking after it for me please say you are kidding? Unless your father's first name is Stirling (or should that be Nigel now??)......
  12. lol +1 And be more patient with people (or suffer fools a bit more gladly!! )
  13. Need to get one since mine is cracked after genius reversed into the car. If original, preferably a Gunmetal one. (Cue the colour wars....!!)
  14. Fair enough. Each to their own I guess. Given the rest of the protection the system can offer (pre tensioners, side air bags, curtains) I thought that would be attractive to most buyers.....
  15. TAKE THE BULB OUT Tim, can you honestly say if it was your car, you'd drive around with a faulty safety system?

  17. I have an Elise in the household too and these things are such good fun. But welcome to comfort and a bit more refinement!!
  18. Thanks buddy, that sounds like a good idea, i would like to get a garage certificate though to say this will not give any increase in performance to the zed but i dont know any garages that will. Anyone on here? I'll do it mate, accountants can sign anything off can't they?! As for the Nismo kit, ask them to quote you as if you'd bought the car with it rather than adding it as a mod. Bet it's cheaper...... Air filter, always a bit more tricky. Surely Nissan have printed material about the self adjusting ECU etc??
  19. Mice are soft and fluffy. That thing had stubble!
  20. What kind of Z is that? a Mazda 350Z? That's what happens when you brake in a straight line and make your turn in, you load the front of the car!
  21. I had the RE040's on at the start and found two things I didn't like (before trying any others on the Zed) a) The cabin noise seemed to be too much. The traction control would kick in far too early on the front wheels as the tyres wore. (this got worse in the cold) However, I wouldn't say OVERALL, they were awful. They weren't good in one kind of condition and rubbish in another. Just generally OK all round, but probably not what you'd want on a performance coupe. I've now gone for Toyo Proxes T1R's. I have to say, that the first thing I noticed was the cabin noise - big reduction. As for the grip, well I haven't had the traction control light doing it's pikey garden Xmas show on me. So much better, can properly drive round those motorway slip road bends at speed and enjoy it. Very good in both wet and dry conditions, and a predictable feel when cornering. Other tyres tried in the past on other cars were:- Yokohama A539 - see Toyo comments, loved 'em. Dunlop Sport SP9000 - Good, but not great. BF Goodrich (somethings) - Great in the wet, often caught the Yoko's out (had then on the front and Yoko's on the rear of my Volvo - my head got very well acquainted with the a-pillar!!) Pirelli P6000 - please puncture immediately and use the rim of the wheel itself.
  22. How can something so small (relative to us) scare the sh!te out of people so much. It freaks me out it's just sat there. Waiting for something.......
  23. See if you can find a friendly techy to show you. IIRC, the air bag circuit involves a number of connectors to the different components, if there's a break in that, none of it works as it can't detect the signal. I'd not recommend taking the bulb out!! But I can't believe it's the pretensioner itself, more likely the connections to it. After all, a pre-tensioner just sits there doing nothing until impact, so I can't see what could go wrong with it!
  24. Yep, the laser isn't good enough to get through it. Stevie, if you want to replicate it, keep a CD in the fridge over night and then put it in the car!!!!
