  1. OK, my 'Priority Complaint' has gone almost a week with no contact. Confirmation just received from Nissan GB customer service (stop laughing!) is that yes, he hasn't called me. Apparently the department is headed by the founder of the Genius Crew. Tomorrow, allegedly, I will be receiving a phone call.
  2. That's just out of order, hope you get it sorted. I had an issue with my old show car. It was parked up after a show in a town centre, safe place and I was gone for an hour. Parked in a well lit, well CCTV covered part of town. When I returned, someone had stood by the boot lid and scratched a square inch of paint off down to the metal, and somebody had walked over the length of the car. Yep, front bumper to get up, along the bonnet (nice dents!) along the roof (god knows how no dents but scratches!), down the rear window and off the back. Best bit is, the police camera shows a group approach the car, then turns the camera away to watch a pub with to pikeys at each other. 5 mins later they swing back, damage done, no evidence.

    Winter Cars!

Exactly - enter 'The Battle Wagon'!!
  4. I tried to do this for my Dad's birthday this year and found that the cost alone was generally pretty steep (I thought so anyway). On top of that, most have a tiny mileage allowance and then extra miles cost between 50p and £3. Can't see the point in having it to sit stationary........!
  5. And why would you say that Stevie?? Because thats the only reason I could think of that you wouldn't turn up for the SE-MAFIA drive! What other reason could there be? He he!
  6. That would be one of the two a year times you use wonderwheels. Just make sure you wash it all off really really well as you dont want acid on your wheels, eating away at them. I'd use AutoGlym Tar remover in very very small quantity, gets it off in seconds and is designed for paintwork so fine for wheel lacquer. Then lots of water to remove the rest and to remove the product from the wheel. Always wipe clean with a DRY cloth, as that absrobs the product rather than a damp one just spreading it...... AutoGlym also do a Wheel Protector spray that is great for giving an extra shine and brake dust finds it a darn sight harder to stick to it.

    Winter Cars!

I've got my 1995 Volvo 440 2.0 GLT being covered in salt and road dirt at the moment. Interior spec is strangely similar to the Zed without the cruise control. Obviously the performance and styling are no match for the Zed though.....!! Sad bit is, my Dad had this car as his company car when new, sold it to one of his long term customers, bought it back off him for my Mum, and now I have it. I remember being taken on holiday in the back of it!!!
  8. Oh yes! And how is that all going? Havent heard much from you both for a while Going well for me, getting a few bits in and ready. One big effort to fit and polish nearer the time. Will see about posting some teaser photos after Xmas.....!!

In order to be able to compare fully I'd say so. It doesn't have semi-slicks fitted, that's the Exige and very few Elise owners run anything other than your Toyo / Yokohama tyres. You'd have to learn how to drive an Elise as the MR set-up is completely different to your FR Zed. Apologies for going off topic. Hello all... its the first post for me here! I recently spent a day up at Bedford Autodrome hooning their 350's around... now I really want one I've got an Elise at the moment, and they're a tad snappy on the limit but the tyres make a huge difference. I'm not sure about on the Z but Toyo's in my experiance have loads of grip but when it reaches the limit they snap out without much warning. Yoko's and BFG's seem much more progressive, slightly less grippy perhaps but give you much more warning before they go. Plus on the elise at least they make it much easier to control any slides. I'd agree that the Yoko's are progressive, only had the Toyo's on the Elise a few days then some goon in a truck mashed the rear end! So, as yet haven't had a chance to see how they compare to the Yoko's (or the AWFUL Michelins that wwere on it before!). Surprised you think the Elise is snappy on the limit, I find it quite progressive purely based on the chassis and suspension, maybe it's because you can go a long way out of line and the thing still comes back!! What one do you have?
  14. That's my point. A handbrake's purpose is to be used by hand, to apply and release a brake. If it wears under 3 yrs in my book that's not fit for purpose, so they should replace it. The wheels may be another matter, but I don't see how they can claim something they charge for as a cosmetic upgrade should be allowed to corrode and go without replacement. I've got my legal team at work giving me some phrases and pointers!! Pics to follow later......
  15. It's on the hand brake lever at the end where the button is. Looks like they've stretched it too far and it has worn through, so am worried it will split the length of the handle any time soon. Will try and get a picture at the weekend and post it up.
  16. Have now made the first steps with Nissan GB to get them to deal with my corroding alloys and leather wear, wish me luck.......!! :bye:
  17. no but it's definitely in the manual Mine's in some foreign language, or at least it may as well be!
  18. Did you know that if you hold the recirc. button in, it automatically controls the air intake settings between fresh air & recirc. I find this helps. Alternatively, drive with a window open!!! Really?? Is that in the Manuel?
  19. Michelin - durability not so good?! In my experiences, I've had to throw them away as they've gone hard and the rubber is perishing from where the darn things won't wear down at all!!! Pirellis - they make the P6000, need we say more?! Toyos and Yokohamas are similar, great grip but are a softer compound. Reason - grip! Why else to racing circuits end up with 'marbles' all over them?! Get the best tyres you can afford IMO, it's what keeps you on the road.
  20. Only thing it could be if none of this works is the air con unit isn't draining the humidity it is extracting due to blocked drainage pipe. Make sure it isn't blocked, easily happens this time of year with the muck on the roads.
  21. Having experienced the confusion the traction control suffers just with worn fronts and newish rears of the same make, I'd suggest avoiding this. Unless you want to change the handling characteristics of the car I'd stick to the same all round. BTW, I thought the same with my Toyo's - awesome!
  22. And we need pics!! I won and LCD TV on Friday night! Have you had the e-mail with trying to guess about 400 different bands yet Tim? That'll keep you busy......
  23. Not good enough I'll get the first round in!
  24. Hi guys, so sorry I didn't make it. Had only got 3 hours sleep on the Friday night and then had to drive back from Birmingham. Sunday morning was shattered and driving any distance would not have been good. Hope you got my message Marc? How was the route guys, good drive? I WILL be at the next one!
