As far as I know, before a date (2003 maybe?) you were allowed to tint the front windows up to 35% and then more recently it was stopped on front windows, hence the 4x4's driving around with limo black for the kids and 'clear' at the front. Never been allowed to do the windscreen except the subtle bits you see on factory stuff. IIRC the police have a light test of some sort if they need to make sure.

Unless the combination of the compund and weighting of the car makes use of that increased area surely!

No, not yet mate. I haven't got brave enough yet to pull the washer caps off. When I bought it they'd been broken to put the new bumper on and they cost about £200 each to replace. Not wanting to do that so needing to speak to someone / see a guide before I really go for it. Plus, there seems to be something between me and the reflector on the nearside wheel arch, contrary to the published guide on here.....
