  1. Fantastic service. Thanks again. Now I've just got to commit it all to memory...
  2. I've been running on Falkens for the last 2 years and cant fault them. I have heard that when they lose grip it's not as progressive as some other tyres, I cant really comment on that not having tried anything else, but they've never caught me out (yet!?) when having fun and getting the tail out.
  3. What a top site! Got some cross drilled brake hoses and a new power band on order!
  4. Wow, thanks for going beyond the call of duty Beavis! I'm seeing if I can get any kind of deal in the uk at the moment, if that fails I'll get one shipped from the US after being very specific about the part number. Thanks for the advice.
  5. Now I'm in two minds. The Timken part from RockAuto comes in at half the price (ish) which is enough of a price difference to get my attention. Aside from the risk of gettng the worng part shipped, (they only have one choice though so it's either the right one or it isn't), is there likely to be an issue with the quality of the part if it's not OEM?
  6. Unfortunately the car is my only transport so I cant really take the hub off and then see if I can get replacement bearings due to the time it'll be off the road. There is this on a US site (RockAuto parts)...
  7. I've been down to the garage to have it checked over today and they agree that the passenger side front wheel bearing has seen better days. They then quoted £199 + vat to get a replacement from Nissan! Having got myself back up off the floor I'm now on a quest to find a less expensive source, but it's not looking good at the moment.
  8. It started as increased road noise that I put down to the new tyres on the front....then it progressed to a faint knocking when going round a long sweeping bend at speed and the road noise is getting worse. I have finally got around to jacking the front of the car up and given the wheels the compulsory wobble and spin test and the passenger one is definitely grumbling , although it currently has no noticable play in it. I've had a scout around the forum and there seems to be a little confusion over it being possible to replace just the bearing or it having to be a complete and rather expensive hub that is swapped out. Is anyone able to shed any light on the situation? Cheers.
  9. You're not alone. My ex-brother-in-law was driving a tanker up the M5 and ended up with a swan in his lap! It had decided to fly across the road and didn't get enough altitude. Fortunately the only casulties were the swan and the truck's windscreen, that too could have resulted in a serious accident.
  10. Sound like a flat one, but sometimes it can just be loose or corroded battery terminals.

    Falken 912's

I've been running these on the front for a couple weeks now and so far no complaints. I haven't pushed them all that hard yet, but they seem to hold the road as well as the 452s in both the wet and dry. Have a look here where they were discussed when I was looking at getting them... http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13149&highlight=
  12. This just gets better. I sent the link to a couple friends, one a biker one not, and now they are going at each other on the "All bikers are idiots! - No we're not it's the car drivers that are the problem!" argument. What excellent Friday office entertainment!
  13. Not the nicest way to dodge a ticket, but that's just genius!
  14. A friend of mine has his mother as a named driver on the insurance for his Laguna as it took a significant chunk off the premium. It was at the recommendation of his insurer when he asked if there was anything he could do to lower the premium, he explained that they didn't live anywhere near each other and that she would never drive it. They said that wasn't a problem. I can only guess at the reasons, but it's just playing the statistics. If someone else is named then if you're driving a long distance or incapacitated in some way they can take over and reduce the risk of an accident.
