  1. Two of my customers who use Orange, one at home, one in a local office, one on ADSL, the other on dial-up are having real problems sending e-mails. Works for a day, then stops working for a while, then starts again, then stops, etc. No error messages or bounce-backs - e-mails just vanish, so I guess their SMTP servers are playing up. Anyway, Orange are just about to lose two customers to a reliable ISP! Just my tuppence-worth....
  2. I have a paint code. Its not from Brembo and I'm told its not quite right - needs a slight tweak on mixing. I'm going to get one spray can made up and try it - just as soon as I can find a couple of minutes breathing space. Watch this space....
  3. I'm off to Exeter early tomorrow, so see you all at Burnham-on-Sat! Cheers!
  4. Interesting "1,200 miles" and "delivery mileage only"... Wonder which way they came??!!
  5. (Not sure whether this should be under General or Technical - or something else, but here goes...) My rear number plate is attached with double sided sticky pads. I am about to remove and re-fix it and although I have the new fixing tape I have a really technical question.... When I've removed all traces of the old tape (probably with petrol or similar) and cleaned the surface, should I polish the paintwork before using the new fixing, or leave it unpolished for better adhesion? TIA!
  6. Its not in the owners manual - I looked. However, I found 80lbft written elsewhere in Nissan material. Cheers!
  7. Welcome Colin! There are some good people in this forum. I've done the Z-specific course and it was worth every penny! A fabulous day out with lots of real learnings. The Minel: As to whether CAT should offer a discount to us just cos they do to others, perhaps that discussion should be taken off line. Personally I dont see Colin's post as just free advertising, but something very specific to Z drivers with Colin willing to share knowledge and experiences in this forum. Cheers!
  8. Having spent five hours driving in light to moderate rain today, it reminded of one thing I find peculiar about the wiper controls. The rotation of the switch for the intermittent interval seems to be the wrong way round. I thought I'd get used to it but after fourteen months I still want it to be the other way round and always do it wrong when switching back from wiper speed 1 to intermittent. Is it just me?
  9. There is a meet although it can be difficult to finf the details in the 14 pages this topic now runs to.... Perhaps Choptop could post the meeting details and attendees in a new topic? (that doesn't mean I dont like seeing the teasing, it just means I'd like to be able to find the details quickly as required...) I thank-you
  10. I've a pair of Chrome finish Z ones I dont want. They are new and cost me £65 delivered. Make me an offer ....
  11. If anyone attending would like to buy a pair of front/rear Z badges (to replace the Nissan-burger) pls pm me. I have a new pair which I bought but have decided not to use. If you are attending 4-Nov, we can avoid shipping!
  12. I voted Sensible cos I am old-ish and I would have said yes - But offers like that only come in my dreams!
  13. Pardon my ignorance but I dont know what that is! - Obviously I didn't get one. I did get the free PS2 with GRAN TURISMO 4 game and still have it..... Maybe I'm just old and/or sad! - I definitely have the smiley hair style
  14. I voted C too. I said when I bought the car that I'd keep it in the OEM (albeit limited edition) spec and thats what I'm doing. I'm proud of my Nissan and feel no need to change its appearance!!
  15. Two things I read about I didn't know before..... It will only be available as an automatic. It has some sort of all-wheel drive system but without a centre diff. I do like he look and spec of it, but lets just put the power plant in the Z !!!
  16. If anyone is interested, Clevedon (M5, J20) has a Tesco selling 99 RON. Just done a route plan with shortest route, its 100.03 miles from me!
  17. I own a Coupe but looked at one of the first Roadsters when I was decision making. I was moving from a Saab Convertible so I knew all the wonders of top down motoring (there's at least one day in every month you can comfortably take the top down.... But ..... Soft tops get to look worn quite quickly, and, IMO, the Roadster looks ugly with the top up. Maybe Ugly is too strong, but its not a head turner. My next convertible has to be a hard-top....
  18. I'll be there - My yellow one is the one without the boy-racer bits on!
  19. Cant get there now - sorry (I was the only Z there last time so I dont like dropping out but just cant make this eve.).
  20. Might drop in - need a new stepladder from B&Q anyway! Cheers

    Key for Rover

Thanks for the replies everyone. Apparently can get key cut any key cutting place and electronic fob can be replicated by local mobile guy. Incidentally, our local Halfrauds do not cut keys. Thanks again.
  22. 4th looks good in my diary. Eating would be good too! Just name the meeting point. Any good roads round there for a convoy cruise? JohnK

    Key for Rover

Is that the N Wales thing? Too far for me at present - on a tight budget trying to find money to buy my (no longer living here) wife's half of the house, especially without losing the car! Theres something bizarre about having to buy my house AGAIN!! Thanks for the Halford's shout btw, will try them.

    Key for Rover

Yeah!, but I dont behave like I do
  25. Need a bit of help here pls. My youngest son has just bought his first car, a Rover 200. It came with only one key so he went to our local servicing and parts establishment to get a spare. They said they couldn't supply and said he needed to go to the car manufacturer! Any ideas where he might be able to obtain one? TIA
