  1. Just thought of this one - when I fail to close the tailgate properly, why does the warning light show me the nearside door is open!

  3. Anyone used one of those chip repair outfits that often setup in the car parks outside big DIY stores. I know they're really there to seel you a new windscreen but I wondered if anyone had a chip repaired and, if so, what it was like? TIA
  4. Saw a good one on Friday: PLU5H !! I wonder if FLU5H is out there?
  5. We're not going again - its just the red owners trying to catch up with us!!
  6. Did someone call? Sorry, I was having a senior moment ......

    who's who

I'm John - you should see the letters I get!!
  8. Thanks Steve - off to Reading later so will try and call in!
  9. Last time I tried, several round Merseyside were selling Super Unleaded of 97RON. But life moves on ....
  10. Just a quick clarification. Different branches of supermarkets get fuel from different suppliers. You cant say Sainsburys get theirs from BP. Some stores may get them from BP, but others may be supplied from somewhere else. Its a geographic thing. Thats why more northerly Tescos dont have 99ron unleaded - Too far from Greenergy's distribution so Tesco source elsewhere.
  11. Last pic - and the forklift looms in the background!!
  12. In the nearside lane as he drove up The Mall towards Buck House!
  13. Need some advice please! I have a very old set of binoculars, metal cased, 10 x 50 and they have done the job well for over 20 years. However, times move on and I'm looking to find some replacements that are lighter but have an equivalent spec. It seems the 10x magnification is fairly easy to find. However, most of the lightweight ones seem to be around the x 25 spec, which I seem to remember is the field of vision. Would I really be halving the field of vision if I went to some 10x 25s? Or have specifications changed? TIA
  14. Funnly old world. Whilst at Nurburgring I was looking around. I think the Cayman S is beautiful, especially from the rear. But so is the Z. Then a professional driver (who I respect) said they dont handle as well as the Z. I thought about test driving the BMW (can I say that here? - oh yes!) Z4M until I happened to meet a guy at a filling station who was saying what a nice car my Z was and he wanted one, but because of his job at the local BMW dealership he couldn't have on. He said the Z4M might well be equal but he didn't believe it was better. RS4? Possibly, but its not RWD - Too much control in the hands of the computer. New TT? Haven't got any hair to dress! So, after 18 months and 33k miles, the smile has dimmed just a little. Its my everyday car so I'm used to it. But when I've cleaned it and wander off on a Sunday morning the grin comes back and I cant for the life of me think of what I could replace it with that I could use every day...
  15. Tesco by their 99 ron from Greenergy (see their website) who but it on the spot market, add a bit of their own stuff, and ship to most Tescos (and others) who do 99 ron. The affected supplies are suspected to come from Greenergy but it seems to be the normal unleaded that is affected.
  16. I think he and his music are much underrated over here. It seems fashionable to put down anything C&W but there are some great songwriters and singers in that genre. I like lots of music from Rachmaninov through to Status Quo, but JC (and DP) are well up the top of the list!
  17. I've seen both pictures and real life of the MY06 rear light cluster but all of these have been in daylight. Does anyone have a picture of the lights illuminated on a dark night? My reason for asking is that I was following a BMW with rear LEDs last night and in the dark they looked f-ugly! Cheers
  18. So you guys are the ones with the fake GT4s??
  19. CAT Driver Training do courses at Millbrook which are about driving and handling. Has an excellent day with them last year.
  20. I wonder whether NMGB will give one to Tiff or GBH to drive. Might be interesting. Although I wouldn't offer one to Jezza I'd still like to see the Stig get a time in one.
  21. I'm sure somebody else said theirs were similar - Cant remember who now. Dont think they faded prior to delivery. The colouring in each letter is too even. Perhaps its because I'm special!

    age......

Google reporting sudden upsurge in searchphrase "nixy" !!
  23. They were definitely *not* black when I took delivery of my sparkly new car! I shall try and attach a couple of pics I've just taken that show them as now. The lettering was slightly darker when new, but not by much.
  24. My Nissan front badge has blistered behind the letters. The dealer has agreed to replace it under warranty but the only part number comes back with one with NISSAN in black letters and the ones on my car have it in a grey shade (very close to the silver). Anyone out there who's taken theirs off and have a spare one in good condition I could have? But NOT the one with NISSAN in black thanks.
  25. And BigPhil has nothing to prove in the service department! Mine were delivered, as promised, before 10am (and on the car at the garage to be back on the road at 11.30am). Brilliant. Wish I could say the same for some of the courier services who deliver to me!
