BMW have won the performance engine of the year award for the V10 for 2 years running.

This prejudice against Beemers is just as irrational as some peoples prejudice against Nissans which stops them buying the Zed. Just my opinion. I would sum it up as they make good (even the odd great) cars but once normal people get behind the wheel they turn into a-holes. And it gets rammed down your throat how exclusive they are when they're the most common company car going. IMO anyway.... How many have you owned then and what were they?

Classic case of german conservative design. The 3 series is such as big seller for BMW they just deren't be too radical. Look what happened when the Sierra was introduced. The Cortina drivers were in uproar... And I'm old enough to remember before you say...

Since the engine has been built for turbos from the outset i woudl expect it to:- 1. Be able to be chipped and easily produce more power, e.g. at least 30bhp for not a lot of money 2. The engine is already low compression so bigger turbos could be fitted to take it to significant extra power, e.g. a miniumum of 100bhp This is the problem with the Zed engine being NA, which is why the APS TT only runs a very low 8psi. PS: My Cossie runs 30psi on full chat... BTW is you guys are so bothered about looks, how about that new Audi TT?...

Welcome to the free world..... This thread makes interesting reading. I've only just caught up with it. I commend Steve for trying to build bridges, but feel that there would need to be significant changes in the OC Committee and Moderators I might add, before I could see the merge even being considered. Good luck with your nomination, this will certainly be a diffcult task. WHy not follow Chubbs and avoid the issue. You'll get more votes that way... I have always felt it rediculous that there is 2 clubs. It doesn't happend for other marques, and the 350z is still a minority car so makes even less sense. I was told that the cameras with no film were set to flash in both directions. They would not be able to fine you in anycase as they use the grid on the road and position of the car to make sure they know who they are charging with speeding. There's a camera near us which always goes off when you pass on the opposite side of the road. I've been flashed on loads of occasions and noticed people always slow right down whereas I don't usually bother. The ones I really hate are the Truvello's which take a picture of you approaching. Not time to slow down which usually means archoring on and nearly casuing a pile up....

Cracking wheels.. I was trying another image but it keeps saying I'm over 2Mb which is rubbish as it's only 156Kb? Loads more SF's on Zed's as well if you are interested Sarnie.

Apparrently you can turn all stability off on the 6 series, (BMW call it DSC & DTC). The handbook even tells you how...

Depends on the driver.. You can turn all the driver aids of the BMW whereas I'm told the Zed still interfers even with ESP turned off. Turning off the ESP only turns off the traction control. All the ABS is still active and will not turn off. Who brakes while drifting??? Oh and Kev,,, if the same person was driving both cars,,, what would your answer be then??? OK dimplomatic answer. I would need to drive both cars to confirm or should I say someone who is an expert at drifting. But - The Zed has more weight on the front, (53% I think), so should be better, however the M6 has a better power to weight ratio. Also need to consider tyres, diff etc. Who knows mate....

You have to use it on 3 occasions I think it is. Someone posted this earlier in the thread.

8 front & 8.5 rear. This is the same as the GT4 wheels. Standard wheels are 8 front & back.
