  1. Don't pay too much attention to bhp, it's torque that pulls. The Zed has about 260 lb/ft and the 650 360 lb/ft, that's roughly 40% more. Couple this with the fact that the BMW produces it's max torque at 3400 rpm as apposed to a Zed which is about 5000 rpm I think. We do seem to spend too much time looking at bhp IMHO. As for weight. The Zed is heavy really at 1545 kg, whereas the BMW is a light car for it's size at 1700 kg. This means it's only carrying 10% more weight than a Zed, with 40% more torque and if you must 33% more bhp. I can assure you all that the BMW is quite considerably quicker than a Zed and no it wasn't me. Unfortunately I'm stuck in London at the mo.
  2. Wish I knew I'm lost. What was the image that was removed here for starters. It was an image which stated : Arguing on the internet is like running in the Special Olympics... Even if you win, you're still retarded. With some visuals Seeing the reaction of the mods over here, maybe try posting it in the thread on the OC forum to check the reactions? Certain ban....
  3. Volks recommend +22 front and rear for 8.5 / 9.5 rims. These look OK so anything less will look wrong. Some people go +22 in a 9.5 / 10.5. With a 8 / 9 setup you need to take off 6.25mm off the offset to get the same effect as a Volk 8.5 / 9.5 at +22, so roughly +16 is what you need to look like a Volk setup. A +35 offset will have the outside of the rim rounghly 20mm further inside the rim than a Volk setupm so will look all wrong.
  4. You could just agree to come and pull out on the day. Oh sorry you've done that before Steady...I'll ask one of my mates on the OC to put your warn level up if you like.....
  5. I'd love to come if I can make it. Not sure on the date being proposed as I've not read the whole thread, (sorry but lazy git).
  6. Join the OC Bad Boys Club........ Power crazed moderators are the reason IMHO. Not all moderators I hasten to add.
  7. I wasn't commenting on the image which has, in fact, been posted here before. You take it or leave it, and most found it offensive, so be it. I was merely on the Pot, Kettle Black level whereby one criticises people for doing what you have so spectacularly done youself (i.e. ir_fuel) arguing. It was the irony that I was about. In point of fact, I personally didn't have a problem either with the image or what was said on the thread - you might as well say what you think and be condoned or condemned; after all who cares, really? Thanks for that Doctor Dorian.....
  8. Hi Rob, nice to see the guys on here have been a bit more positive. Good luck with selling them.
  9. Sounds good to me. Whay not just orgainse a 350z UK session first then if people take a like they can yoing in on the Z Club competitions.
  10. Sounds good. Why not put up a thread and see how many would go. Especially as you have experience of the Zed to advise on how to get good times. I'd definately be interested. I've been to Shakespere. Nie and central for most too and at £25 a bargain. It would be good fun as a group.
  11. Yea open to advice. I've never done a drag day but would like to see what the Cossie would do. When you launch it's all wheel spin and no action though but would be fun. Bit worried though on the rear diff as these can go pop on a Cossie.
  12. I prefer track days which I use the Cossie for. The Zed is a little heavy anway for drag stuff. Even my Cossie will be a little slow on the drag strip, but I'm planing to do a RWYB this year in it.
  13. I see. Come one guys. I don't expect that kind of thing here...
  14. Wish I knew I'm lost. What was the image that was removed here for starters.
  15. Deep breath mate. Stand back. Read it in isolation. Now pi$$ your pants at how stupidly infantile that is. Ignore it, it's consuming your life and it ain't worth it! Take more than these kids to upset me matey. It's just not in my nature to give in to this kind of behaviour. They are talking of deleting the thread in question here, which just goes to show how when one moerator steps out of line they then like to delete the evidence. I've seen this so many times. ? Dorian - I've now know what you mean now. Shocking admition of guilt, and not suprisingly they deleted it to protect him. What is more intrguing is the fact that he has now gone very quiet. BTW the thread has now been locked due to Childish behaviour.........90% by a Moderator....mmm nice to see them setting an example....
  16. Not sure what you mean, I'll PM you.
  17. Now I've been called childish would you believe and they are thinking about deleting the thread to cover their tracks AGAIN... So far the thread on the OC has been locked, then unlocked and now split off in 2. Now looks like they will be deleting it. Far too much moderation medling going off IMHO. All for the benefit of.......you guess.....
  18. You said £20k? You can get a good used ST220 for £13k. A friend of mine was considering one. I'm not a big Merc fan, (don't like the old man image even over the BMW man image). Although I like the CLK 55, and CLS. How about a used CL500. A lot of car for not much money used.
  19. Monaro get's my vote. Also a used M3 another option. To be a bit different, how about a used Jag S Type R. They are cracking value. Not everyones cup of tea but a lovely V8...

    Winter Cars!

Whilst we are on old sports cars, I've owned both a Triumph Spitfire and MGB Roadster. Thank god for progress, although I still have a soft spot for MGB's. The X1/9 still feels relatively modern though. A very stiff chassis etc. and quite advanced for it's time, considering it went in prodcution in 1972 I think it was. Don't forget it was a Bertone design, the same team responsible for the Lancia Stratos. Also interesting is the fact that TVR are planning to use Bertone to build all TVR's in the future. Being a late model, my X1/9 was built at the Bertone Factory, (no Fiat badges)..

    Winter Cars!

They used to call the TVR's wedges. I think they still do. The Tasmin's and similar. I think it's a 70's thing. Most sports cars were this shape then, e.g. TR7 etc. Now I'm showing my age....
  22. The latest I've received on the OC. I've posted a summary as it is in a member section of the OC in the USA & Japan Section. The moderator in question, (you should all know who this is by now), gets accused of being too harsh from both Jap350z and RickB. His reply to this is as follows: - My reply was: - By proof I mean that I'm not part of the "In Crowd" over there and they are still after me, although the Ban was supposed to have been removed.... Who cares anyway, I don't have a Zed and still have this friendly site. I do enjoy showing them up for what they are though. It really is pathetic and childish don't you think?
  23. There is 2 of them who don't like me. I think you've worked out one of them. When they don't like what I say, but find as always nothing in particular wrong, the only route is lock the thread. It's the equivalent of screaming nah nah nah and putting your fingers in your ears..... Mind you I have in the past been brave enough to question the thing they worship by suggesting there are alternatives out there..... Thanks Baptist BTW....
