  1. I did this in January. It pi**ed it down but was still a great day and TBH more fun, especially spining the Lotus at 70 mph... A great way to get to grips with your car in safety
  2. So a few questions: - 1. How do I ensure I'm getting full HD. Is this 1080p? 2. I'd like Freeview HD. I assume this is Freesat? 3. What refresh rate is a minimum? PS: Checked the Digitl Direct website an they have a good selection ,although I'm now even more confused. I may go to Comet and see a few in the flesh this weekend.
  3. I had been thinking Panasonic or Sony What about this one. It says HD ready though??? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-TH-42 ... 72&sr=1-11
  4. Great thanks guys, sounds like a Panasonic is the one to go for and I like the idea of a HD freeview box built in. I've also just bought a Panasonic DVD Recorder.
  5. OK So I admit to knowing absolutely nothing about flatscreen TV's and HD, but would like to take the plunge. My requirements are simply: - 1. High Quality - Prefer a reputabe make such as Sony etc. 2. Modest size so must come in a sensible range of sizes It wil be hooked up to my Sony DVD Player and Surround Sound System, ( a bit od but still good), and a Sky + HD box So what to look for and where to buy, e.g. plasma v's LCD, resolution etc. etc. Al help appreciated Cheers
  6. This looks a must and only £13.50 to get in See http://www.cpop.co.uk/
  7. Great incentive to survive in one piece too.....
  8. But quite a few pennies richer I suspect...
  9. http://www.maniacworld.com/Record-New-Y ... -Jump.html Make sure you watch it all...
  10. Seems banning is still rife over there then. Have to say I now post regularly on 4 Bike forums and 3 Lotus Forums and I've never heard of anyone at all being banned..
  11. Rivalry STILL....you are joking.... There was a time when certain members got banned.... Good luck with the sale bud... What you buying next? Only see rivalry from one side and it's only a very limited number Kev. I'm sure we don't want to go there again! How are you anyway? I'm great thanks. I still like to peruse this site with the occasional post. I do spend more time on the Lotus and Bike Forums, but still enjoy reading about the 350z. There is some nice people on here although many new faces too which is good too. Keep up the good work guys..

  13. Thanks guys. Glad you all like it. I'm chuffed to bits which I guess is all that matters, but always nice to know others like it. Agree with you guys comments. The Exige is a bit extreme as an every day car. For me it's a second car anyway. It can be made softer with road tyres over the Advans and normal seats etc. but that is missing the point of the car. As for torque etc., even though this is only a 1.8 don't forget you don't need as much torque with so little weight. Having said that, you do need to rev. It rev's to 8.5k and produces max bhp at around 8k. Sounds great though. I've got the TRD air box, so the supercharger whine sounds awesome...
  14. Do it you won't regret it. Take one for a test drive and you'll be hooked..
  15. +1 The only thing that puts me off is that its not an everyday car and i understand it has to be but its so sparse inside the cabin. Have to agree with you buddy, but an awesome car, even the elise's Guy from work took me out in his elise, correct me if i'm wrong but i think he said it was the 136bhp one. Bloody rapid little thing although i felt like i was sitting on a canteen chair. Handling and performance was very impressive although my anus did pay for it when i got out Mine has Air Con an dleather seats albeit Race Seats. It can easily be an every day car, but woudn't recommed it if you cover major motorway miles. Mines the 240 PS byt the way...
  16. Thanks guys. Went out in it yesterday and got quite a few head turns. Only trouble is it attracts attention from the boys in blue...
  17. Hi Guys, Well lots of hours work and have to say I'm delighted with the results so much I had to share them with you...:clp
  18. Thanks mate. I had the choice of all 3 colour schemes, but the retro Blue with gold wheels did it for me...
  19. protectors on the side of the bike nope they are crash bungs, chicken strips are the strips of the tyre that you have not lent the bike over enough for it to wear away the rubber. as you can see on the back tyre close to the edges there is about an inch?? (not sure in measurments from the photo) of tyre that looks a different colour, those are the strips. Adam Correct. Now you should see the rear tyre of my 02 R1 now it's been on 2 track days. Looks like it's been ridden by someone who knows what he's doing... Nice and shredded. Thanks everyone for the compliments. Next upgrade after a re-map is some short billet levers in gold of course... Then I'm done, I don't like to see a new bike too modded, just subtle.
  20. Thanks guys. REally pleased with the. It's transformed the look and sound of the bike. The next thing is a BMC filter and re-map. I'm not going the Power Commander route as I know a tuner who can re-map the ECU direct. It is running a bit lean I reckon as it pops on over run, but sounds cool though. Crash bungs a must. I has an off at Mallory park on my 02 R1 and the damage was minimal.
  21. Yep chicken strips....only has 450 miles though so treating her gently at the mo...
  22. For the bikers amongst you, here's my latest upgrade. Lovely Termignoni Cans and a de-cat mid section. It now sounds how it should...
  23. Sounds like you've nver been in a Lotus or VX. Cold never, in fact air conditioning in summer is almost a must. Exiges with no air con can't be shifted by the dealers. It's a small car, mid engine which means plenty of heat in the cab. As for quick, you are missing the point. The Lotus chassis is not about how quick in a straight line, it's more about driver feedback, handling and enjoyment. That's why I say it would be missed if sold. I owned a VXR220 (number 20 of 65) for almost 2 years, which was even more basic than your Exige Not an issue in the Exige, but in the Elise variants it's bloody cold with the roof off and the heater is more of a blower, but I'm sure you'd know that as well as anybody. I'm also going to assume your car must be garaged so you've never experienced the unbridled joy of ice forming INSIDE the windscreen when it's freezing outside, and it then takes aaaaaages to warm up. To say that a 116 N/A isn't as quick as a 350 is missing the point, and I did already mention that the Zed isn't as far behind the Elise chassis as you would imagine once you get used to the differing layout. Is it as pure? No, of course not, but it's warmer and comfier and far more fun that I expected. Fair do's. But you can get an hard top for a VX if cold is an issue and yes mines garaged. I've had loads of cabrios, missus has a MGF at the moment, and the ice on the inside is a common thing with them.
  24. Different yes, but not that much quicker really. Unless you're on a really straight road, the 2.2 will handle better than the tubby and much closer to the VXR. Again, in a straight line the Zed will pass the 2.2, but on the twisty stuff the VX will be more than a match for it. Then again, you'll be freezing your knackers off in the VX and constantly wondering what that new rattle is, whereas you'll be somewhat more relaxed in the 350 One of the best pax rides I've ever had was in a 2.2 with Nitrons and a set of throttle bodies round Bedford GT. Easily on a par with my stg2 VXR in terms of speed, both straight line and cornering. Truly an awesome car. Sounds like you've nver been in a Lotus or VX.
