  1. Weather was OK. Drifting in the morning and slicks by the afternoon. As for diff, it can be rebuilt. Just a pain that it has to come out again..
  2. Correct. I think they have put too much pressure on the plates, (I did say set them to track day setting). I reckon is damaged one of the plates inside. It was making a hell of a racket when I went round corners. Got home though which was a bonus. Off to Devon tomorrow morning, so it'll have to wait till I get back.
  3. Well a great day with mixed weather. Started off very wet so was more like a drift day, then dried up so it was on with the slicks. I've done something to my rear diff but otherwise all is still i one piece. Here's a picture from first thing when it was raining then later in the day.
  4. have to agree with Dorian on this; defo sound awesome , but as to whether there is an performance advantage I would doubt it but on the plus side when I drive it with these on I cant smile wide enough Glad you are pleased with the Tim. Bet they sound great with the Milltek Hi Kev.,, yes do sound well , but I've put a Nismo system on now so does sound well all well with the BMW ? Yes thanks Tim, very happy with it. Awsome car and great sound.

  6. Excuse me for being blunt Max, but a daft questions ot ask here. You are bound to get a "YES". I had a Zed for a year and found that although I had other cars to use with more seats, my poor old Zed sat in the garage and never got used. I covered less than 5k miles in a year. I just couldn't justify keeping it, although I always enjoyed driving it as this was always a treat. Depends on your personal circumstances I guess. Good luck whatever you decide..
  7. This was always my major gripe with the Zed. I'm afriad it's due to not using light weight materials. The engine isn't so much the issue as it's an all alloy unit, just the rest of the car. Light weight exotic materials cost money, that's why the Zed is so cheap. By comparison my BMW is only 10% heavier than a Zed and that's got a big V8, 4 seats and about a foot longer. This is due to Alloy doors, plastic wings and boot plus an all alloy chassis. BTW my Cossie weighs in at 1217 kg. That's not by using exotics materials, it's due to not having many extras, e.g. air bags and a bendy flimsy chassis with no crumple zones etc.
  8. I bought mine from eBay and this was direct with Kinetix. Cost me about £75 for shipping but the price was low compared to their full price.
  9. actually it's because it was filthy! I can verify that having seen it Saturday... So have the shocks been fitted then Kev? Come on Val, get tweaking those adjustables to your liking and do us a report....

    Cayman

I've not test driven a Cayman, but a 911 C2S didn't impress me. Yes it was quicker than a Zed but £70k... The Cayman has the potential in S trim to be quicker than an 911, i.e. engine in the right place, but they deliberately slowed it down by such things as not fitting a LSD. I agree with Clarkson, I couldn't buy a car which had design restrictions built in like that... The question is when will the buble burst for Porsche. They can't keep on building a dinosaur for much longer surely. Think of the Porsche 911 in 20 years time and guess what it's become a Morgan.... Meanwhile we'll all be driving V8 / V12 600bhp sports cars and the 911 will be driven by pipe smoking bearded gentlemen...
  12. Yeah I can imagine!. That's a brilliant present....... Dad award. Cheque's in the post! Trouble is I have 2 daughters.....
  13. Will post some pics. Really looking forward to taking her on this. She will be so shocked when she opens the envelope...
  14. Right she's booked in for a Aston Martin DB9 Thrill Drive on 23rd September. Should make an awesome 18th birthday present.. Thanks Andy for the recommendation..
  15. Sunday the 10th September... Unfortunately I'm on holiday or is it I might be up for this then and may be able to bring a few extra peeps..
  16. Thanks for the very kind offer Steve. She would be so nervous though. She only passed her test last week. PS: She's only about 5 foot 3 inch...
  17. I'd be interested in this. When is the date?
  18. You don't need a licence for the junior rally expereince at Silverstone, but it is aimed at kids. I think I've decided. She's a Aston nut and the ferrari days in Leicester do a Aston Thrill session for £125 and ideally there's a date 2 days before her birthday. She gets 2 laps in an Impreza with the instructor driving, followed by 2 laps her driving the Impreza, then 3 laps in a DB9...
  19. Hi Guys. Not much left now. Will be sticking them one eBay at the weekend. All I have now is: - 1. Indoor Cover 2. 6310i Cradle and Phone 3. Bridgestone RE040 Rear. Less than 4k miles
  20. I'm afraid the Zed doesn't impress her much. She's been round Donington in the Cossie, as passenger of course...
  21. Thanks guys some great suggestions. I especially like the ferraridrving.com, so thanks Andy. Shes an Aston Martin nut, so the thrill half day session would be fantastic for her. I think I'll give them a call tomorrow and check. Also, thanks for all the birthday wishes. It's her birthday on 25th September, so plenty of time to arrange something. It's also nice to do something special for her 18th, especially since she passed her driving test last week.
  22. My daughter is 18 in a few weeks and just passed her driving test last week. She's a bit of a piston head like her dad. I was hoping to buy her something like a driving experience day. I checked the Silverstone ones and they all say you must hold a driving licence for a minimum of one year, apart from the Junior Rally Expereince. Does anyone know any events she could do? Any other suggestions, (sensible ones please)...
  23. Zaino. It's got real leather extracts in it so make your car smell new again. Great if you have a leather fetish...
  24. If that was a Nissan item they would definately blame the paint to get out of any warranty claims...
  25. One Bridgestone 245/45 x 18 RE040 OEM Tyre for sale off my car which I recently sold. This has covered about 4k miles and is a rear in case anyone isn't sure. I had a puncture on my car and ended up buying a pair of RE040's from a guy who had fitted 2 of this size to an RX8 and found the bigger size cause an error on the stability system. I decided to fit both as the had 500 miles only on them, so this was taken off. Looking for £30 only for it as it's in the way and no use to me. Would be ideal as a spare or if you have recently had a puncture, (as I did).
