  1. not something else to tempt me with, i already have some nuts coming from them on sunday don't make me buy something else
  2. team AFM are a touring car team ,who also as their day jobs run and work in a bodyshop and also run a garage specifically designed at performance cars and track car setups. they are one of the worst advertised companies in the world. there website is tempremental, they are on my door stepp and i didn't even know about them. i have used there body shop and they are very good. but i don't konw what their garage is like, i belive they have hadsome dealings with the Zed as apparently they set one up for track days. have a look on their website to find out more. as for the other garage they have been featured in maxpower, fast car etc for building show cars, think they built a twin engined beast a while back.
  3. agreed, i bet if you look in the current O2 sensor it probably requires something like an anti fowler, just to lift the sensor out abit. as the increased airflow is more than it can deal with
  4. i'd get your own OBDII software for a laptop, might work out cheaper than going to nissan everytime.
  5. i believe the falkens are meant to be quite good for quite road noise.
  6. i won't use glyn hopkins out of principal from the bad service i recieved in there ipswich branch
  7. WTF! that must be extortion! The wing is removed to replace the bulb my bulb has gone, but i thought i had to just remove the wheel arch lining, god those nissan techicians are a bunch of div's. note to self don't use that dealership
  8. possibly a dodgy relay, when the door opens it is not activating the switch to drop it. where they are located and how to fix them is another issue, and one i can't answer. i think there is a box of tricks in the door which is the control unit for the window, maybie swapping that out might fix the problem, but my limited knowledge on electronics in the Zed mean i'm not sure whats what and where to find it. i'm guessing a bit of investigation with a multimeter should find the connection issue. it could also be a loose connection or wire. it might be worth taking the trim off and having a look to see if anything is loose
  9. ther is team AFM in martlesham, ithink they do servicing, and deal with perofrmance cars, but don't know what there prices are like, i can try and find out if you like, there was another place in ipswich that i use which are good, and used to build cutom sports cars, was supposed to be getting a quote from them as well, but need to give them a bell to find out.
  10. easiest test to find out if you have LSD is to take your car out to a quite country road, place the car so that the left side is on a gravelly or muddy or loose surface, and the other is on tarmac. then pull away hard, if i remember correctly a car with LSD should pull away straight with no tugs on the steering wheel. the one with out LSD should veer slightly as one side is grabbing for traction while the other has it. correct me if i'm wrong but that should be a fairly good indication.
  11. only just seenthis, got mine mot'd last week, £54
  12. there used to be one which was part of an automatic door opening system the sensor was designed so that when you pulled up at your garage the sensor would open the door for you. it had the added advantage that it also scrambled police speed guns and made them read 0mph. was apparenly completely legal as long as you could prove you had the automtic garage door. as some people were fitting the sensor but had no garage. i remember it being on fith gear donkeys yonks ago. don't know if this system is stil out there
  13. i'll be heading up from suffolk on the sunday hopefully, i'm guessing the only cross over point would be somewhere like birmingham. if you wanted to follow me up.
  14. don't worry i should be coming up on the sunday morning so will pick M350ZB up if he's lagged behind some where near birmingham Cheeky cheeky, what time you leaving sun morning bud ? ? ? don't know yet, haven't worked it out, hopefully earlier enough to get me there with plenty of time to spare at the other end. if your wanting to convoy, i'm happy to tailor in with you.

  16. got 2 options option 1 i'll send you enough material to do it with cost £10 takes about 5 min to remove it 10 min to remove the zed carefully, about 1 hour to fit the vinyl, 2 min to fit the zed back on and about 2 min to refit the cover. (or as nurrish says, you can get it off ebay as well, Would get around 1m by 300mm for around a £10 on ebay, more than enough) option 2 post it to me and i'll do it for £35
  17. if you are coming to the meet on sunday i can take your rear brace home with me and post it back to you when i've done it.
  18. looks good, did you fill the 3 holes eitherside of the Zed before vinyling or can you still feel them if you push your finger in?
  19. ok, i tried removing the steering wheel controls today so that i could CF them, but i hit a stumbling block, i couldn't get thm out. i managed to remove the 2 srews behind the steering wheel.. easy enough. still wouldn't come out. so i then took the 2 plastic covers off the side and removed the 2 bolts at the side... wasn't sure what they were but they turned out to be what holds the air bag in place. easy enough. i know have my steering wheel in many bits, and they still wont come off, had a feel around and there are 2 more screws holding them in, but they are blocked by the rear steering wheel plastic trim and the only way to get at them is to take the steering wheel off... at this point i didn't have a long enough socket extension, or a long enough socket, or 2 pairs of hands, or big enough musles. tried different methods and the sodding thing wouldn't budge. i even tried unclipping just the covers off leaving the switches in places, would they come off ... b0110cks would they. gave up in the end and put the lot back together. thats a job for another time. so i dismantled my enginge cover instead for spraying and have primed the bases for my new strut brace as well.
  20. http://www.aceparts.com found this place that seems quite good, single D2R bulb is £34 should i replace just the one, or should i do both at the same time?
  21. thanks mate much appreciated. i'm going to have a go at the steering controls tomorrow, will take pics when i'm done. might bring my tools to wales and maybe do a couple for people while i'm there if they want. depends on time really, i suppose because i won't be at the carvery i can sit outside and do it while i eat my pack lunch and everyone else is inside eating there roasts. just call me cinderella
  22. I was planning on getting a obd2 reader but didn't get round to it. You may find someone local with one or go to nissan to get it read. My guesses are 1. - the O2 sensor on the exhaust, probably fixable with an anti fouler. 2. - throttle body. Possibly a sticky buterfly valve. Should be fixed by doing the throttle position reset. Doubt it's anything serious. Can read your own fault codes with he edu rest procedure but it's more of a skill than just plugging in the obd2 reader
