  1. sorry mate, wasn't having a go, i also didn't know that different shapes had preference depending on if its jap, euro or yank. learn something new every day. plus you had a valid point, and an honest opinion, i value both more than your average yes man 1000 times more.
  2. their claims can't be untrue as otherwise it would be false marketing, but you can set a dyno to read what ever you like. also i think that the quoted BHP gains are for the one item on a stock car, i think when you start to add more items their BHP overlaps each other. so if you had 2 items each adding 5 bhp, you might actually only gain a total of 7 bhp. at the end of the day, they will make a difference, but not a smuch as the manufacturers claim
  3. i was going to have oval ones if i had a custom exhaust. i didn't know different shapes were reserved for different cars, i thought it was personal preference that ruled.
  4. both of those are good sealants, as for stopping it blow off, should do yes, but no guarantees, i would rather have it bolted on. go to a body shop and get them to do it..
  5. her home page was interesting
  6. i saw a blue coupe the other afternoon and thought it was sally, it got right up behind me, i waved and nothing, she sat behind , me all the way with a stone walled expression on her face. it wasn't sally, but this lady was no fun
  7. R3LEE if i got his user name right might be able to point you in the right direction as might zmanalex, i don't think they'll be abler to saupply a shell, but they might know where to find one. autotrader or piston heads might be your next best bet.
  8. should fit your JDM, the car layout is the same, so you'll either have to remove the resevoir or you won't. as your car doesn't have one it should be striaght forward. i'd wait for a 3rd opinion as i've not worked on a US market one,
  9. welcome to the club good luck with the search, i do love the old FTO's nearly got one myself, think they are a loverly car.
  10. I'd say no. We all know that it's an engine with less miles on but there's still that nagging doubt that says if it's had a new engine then what else has/is going to go wrong? You'll lose about £1K off the value of the car I would imagine, and vastly limit the people who will buy the car. Given the choice of two cars, both identical except one has lower mileage but a replacement engine, most people (including me) would go for the one untouched. sadly i know what he means, i went through this with a previous car. was a bugger to sell, ended up removing that information from the add. it wasn't a Cat C,D, A or B so no need to declare it. the car is in working order. but if asked during a sale about if the engine was replaced then you tell them exactly what work has been done. its down to the buyer to ask the right questions. some people might think this a bit wrong, but if the car is well looked after, and the work is done by a reputable company with an engine that has a traceable history then the car is as good as new. if selling on the forum and people now the history, then you also need to include it.
  11. seen that done at lots of garages, if your there early enough when they open up. DMS do it. can't see the issue. there are special safety features on them to stop them falling, if there wasn't i wouldn't get under them. plus if its in a garage and there is an accident, they have to pay to put it right.
  12. also while i remember the builder should be able to tune it if i remember rightly i have heard of custom builds being tuned. and that if you want it louder they should be able to do that. also whats the little lip spoiler above the rear window i really like that, who makes it?
  13. love the look of that, looks very nice as for sound just give it some time. all exhausts sound different when new. give it some time to carbon up a bit and bed in and you'll notice a difference. also i had a 2nd hand exhaust fitted to mine, so it was already carboned up, but it sounded quite. i found you also need to give the car a good tank of fuel or 2 through it for the car to tune it in properly. it might not make any gains but the car works within the new air flow parameters.
  14. looks like a good day, whats the red thing about 3 pics down, looks like a metro on steroids.
  15. whats missing off the car is a nice roaming LED at the front in red and the initials K.I.T.T on the back
  16. i think i'm falling in love with the second set, just out of interest what are they called, as i've never seen them before, also what price would i be looking at with tyres and does that include delivery and what are the tyre sizes so that i can price up alternatives.
  17. the zed will cope with it, but you'll be servicing every 9000 miles. and averaging between 25-30 mpg. i had this issue a while back and sold my mr2 convertible as i was piling 25000 a year onto it and got a Civic type S GT 2.2 diesel. eats the miles better and was more economical. if it were me and my job suddenly changed i would possibly look into getting rid of the zed and investing in a mile muncher, but there are some good ones out there. one of the best i drove was a alfa romeo 157 top spec one. with 220 bhp diesel engine. had awesome performance and the torque was huge. and if i had owned it i would have got it chipped pushing the torque to 350 nm i think more than the zed has anyways. plus the interior was nicer than the Zed and i did feel some what special in the alfa. i wouldn't have the civic again. it was good, it ate the miles and it was very rapid, but it was dull. if you do end up getting one then fair play to you. you'll enjoy it as its a great car.
  18. yes just below the steering wheel to the right hand side, near where the bonnet release and headlight washer button are.
  19. must admit i had one of the new civics and although it was great and had lots of power i ended up only having it 9 months before selling it through boredom and getting the Zed. i'm getting worried about the day i have to sell up to get something else as i have no idea what i would replace the Zed with if it had to go, either for a general upgrade or for something with 4 seats. (4 seats scare me, as for mr it means old and boring)
  20. i need to find some mesh for my nismo bumper, slowly collecting all the bits i need. got reflectors, got GF repair kit. just need some CF to fill the badge area and some mesh and its good to go to the body shop for fitting and washer jet cutting and then spray and fit am hoping to do it in augus, but it depends on if my insurance money comes through been over a year now
  21. no that won't work, you'd loose all your water bottle resevouirs. as i think that one sits down in the wheel arch. if not it might work. your best bet is the JWT setup. its one of the few actually designed for the twin intake.
  22. depends on how hard you hit it really .... more sensible answer is yes they do.
  23. i think a provisional spot is only held for so long, once its booked up and someone else is willing to pay, then the non payer is moved down. similar to track days. a provisional is not a guaranteed. ring them and ask them
  24. So martin now your back from your holiday what's the chances of having a set of 4 clips pretty please with a cherry on top. let me know how much
  25. looks really good, glad they turned out well, would love red calipers on mine, but its a long way down my too do list.
