    Brakes

red stuff pads are the same as oem stock, the yellow stuff is better, as others have said ferodo ds 2500, and i think they do another version which is just below that which is meant to be good. if you have more to spend, try the dixcel brakes form DMS, or endless, project mu, and i think DBA are another one.
  2. true, but Camskills were running special offer at the moment which saved me £80 off the original price, so thought it wise to get them now as i don't know when the deal was due to run out. the plan is to fit sooner rather than later. just waiting on some info, and seeing if i have the spare cash
  3. very true your too good to me, maybe we can snuggle later cheers for that, was really struggling to get anywhere with it, but now i've seen it and the price, I'm not sure if i like it or not. i think i need to see it in the flesh. am looking forward to the CS meet as it will give me a chance to see a variety of setups
  4. looks interesting, but the site is a night mare to navigate as its all in german

    Storing tyres

this may sound like a silly question, but I'm going to ask it anyway. my 4 new tyres have just arrived but I'm not ready to put them on yet, got to organize a wheel refurb first. could be a week could be 2 months. what i wanted to know was is there a special way to store them? i.e should they be laid on their sides, stacked on top of each other or stood up on the tread. my worry was that with no wheel attached and no air in them that if i left them the wrong way they might deform under their own weight, or am i just being a numpty?
  6. Drive fill up check your oil, smoke a fag read your magazine all whilst there is someone else waiting for petrol behind you, Sounds like an AUDI driver lol if its busy i pull forward and wait 5 more min for oil to re settle. if i was a real audi driver i'd stop at the pump in the car while ii have my sandwich before leaving.
  7. there is someone on here who was after the alloys
  8. oil should always be checked on a warm engine. my trick is to drive and fill up its about a 5 min drive. by the time i've then filled up and payed, the level has settled and i take my reading. its the most accurate method of checking oil level. got taught that years ago, and read it in most car handbooks. i think even the haynes manuals say it in there home service section of a variety of cars i've owned.
  9. the rays are the lightest out of all the standard zed wheels, probably the best for track days.
  10. flying is dead safe your more likely do die in a car crash than on a plane. if your going by cheesy jet, then the most danger your in would be from catching a cold. there planes aren't big enough to be used as an effective strategic weapon by terrorists. if they were going to do something stupid it would be with something bigger, and it would be on a flight heading for the UK not out of it. especially as security isn't as good outside the UK. also my dad is an aerospace engineer, and works for a company that maintains alot of the aircraft and they are very good.
  11. i suffer the same on one side, its a job i keep putting off, my plan is just to turna dn regrease, but i keep thinking about doing it properly and just doing it once. but i have othe rtings to sort out as well
  12. looking good, think i'll have to try that luvly bubbly stuff. what do you use to apply it with, i have an attatchmwnt with my bosch that is a bottle with a nozzle, is this the correct tool?
  13. Cs does a nismo version kit, for around £600 ex spoiler, factor in maybe another £600 for spraying
  14. its my profession and any thing stupid like that would cost me not just my job, but my entire career for life. and that i couldn't cope with as i love what i do. so i'm very careful never to cross the line. i can have a laugh, but i'd never touch a kid thought i'd share it as i saw the funny side
  15. I know mate! If I was in any doubt of your morals I wouldn't have posted it! don't worry, i wasn't offended, its part of the job i suppose. my mates down the pub nick named me mr tummnus (or tummnus for short) after the goat thing in narnia. i think the link to it was my surname is thompson, apparently to them sounds like tumnus. he had goat legs, i'm apparently incredibly hairy. and he drugged small girls and took them back to his house. and i'm a teacher. i never get some people sometimes, i think they did it because i kept beating them at pool.
  16. i really like those red ones that i've seen, i think they are hinged in the centre as well. more of a permenant feature than a tempory need.
  17. i'm not a gary glitter wanna be believe me you never look at them in that way, its like having 1200 little brothers and sisters, they just annoy the hell out of you. your more likely to want to beat the hell out of them than touch them. plus you don't know where most of them have been. :yuk: :yuk: :yuk: :yuk:
  18. where did you buy it from, and is it an import or uk car. my guess is if you bought from nissan, they probably already knew about it, but used the consult to keep wiping the codes.
  19. i'm a teacher and the car has helped me achieve, what i can only call a god like status i have students who i don't even teach come up and say, "your the one with the 350z". down side is i think most of the teachers think i'm a pr1ck. well the ones i don't know, i'm fairly new there and its a big school so don't know most of the staff there.
  20. good call BM, its something i'd like. i looked inot taking mine off and carbon wrapping them, but its just such a fiddly job, would rather have a decent cover to put over.
  21. he did speak to me, i was the the "friend" like i said before i'm not sure i can cut that small, my best bet would be the letraset, if you use a piece of masking tape as a guide it makes life alot easier. and then you can take it off after.
  22. went to tesco today and 2 out of the 4 disabled bays had audis in with no disabled blue or orange badge in
  23. its because all the original BMW drivers swapped to audis hence audi drivers are c0cks, and VW drivers must be their kids my wife drives a VW golf, but its only a 1.6 and she's pretty well behaved, although she has a very bad habit of tailgating
  24. was just trying to help by google searching for you
