125 MPH Suspension failure on my Zed at Knockhill.
rtbiscuit replied to ZMANALEX's topic in 350Z General
that is a shocking failure of a part, will you be contacting kinetix about it? must admit, they don't seem to be building themselves a reputation in quality. as their 2 plenums seems to split and crack as well. glad to see your ok. -

i really like that one, and its already got spacers on it. by the looks of it i'm guessing its not been lowered. just wondering if you could take a good side on pick for me as it will help me decided if i can get away with lowering as well as spacers,

Rich - check this out..........Scotland always was light years ahead of England in terms of education http://www.scotsman.com/literacyinscotland/-Txt-comp-splits-teachers.3285360.jp PS you were thinking in the shower mate?...........men can't do two things at once! Re: the shower quote, i had to stop think, then shower for a bit, stop and think again. etc etc. made my shower twice as long Re: the article, just got home and read it and i still stand by my original statement, and i agree with the other teachers comments on the article. its not a positive step forward. if i received a piece of work in slang or txt, i don't think i would be as mean as to get them to re -write it (depends on the kid ) but i would mark them down, my subject doesn't rely on english as much as thats not what i'm teaching, but i still have to encourage good english. i suppose it might be different working in a low end school (which i have done) but i work in one of the top schools in the country and if i allowed that kind of work, i'd loose my job as for chavs/boy racers, i think its definitiely one of there dream cars, especially as they are form the playstation generation, and the Zed is one of those iconic cars. i don't think it will go the way of the civic, but i do think it will go the way of the supra.

i'm sorry but text speak is just lazy, i text people and i still use all the letters. i suppose i hate it more than most as i'm a teacher. my other pet hate is wanna be gangsters, or gangsta, as they say. what make sit funny is i work in woodbridge, and the kids come from a pretty affluent area or are farm kids. so basically as gangster as a tellie tubby I'm quite sad to see such comments from a professional who has the opportunity to communicate effectively with young people! Its not lazy - its just another evolution in language and it will not go away. Txt speak has been used in several education settings in the UK over recent years and has shown significant impact when used in multi-media projects within deprived areas. sorry Viks just been in the shower and it had me thinking, i agree with what you said about it accessing lower ability students, but we should still be encouraging them to use proper english, how many hi end businesses would put up with emails to clients form someone using txt spk. i agree it won't go away, and it is a new form of communication. but its not a valid form in the world of business, and thats what we're menat to be setting them up with. Also as a dislexic life is hard enough with words sprelt the right way, let alone the ones spelt wrong, and the aim is also not to confuse kids. the biggest thing you said was you were saddened by my proffessional view, i don't mind that and undewrstand why. i suppose when i type stuff on a forum, i have a habit of making generalised statements. thats my bad i suppose for me teaching is one of those proffessions that everybody thinks they know better, it kind of makes me chuckle, people down the pub telling me what i should do. etc, you don't get the same public intervention if your a lawyer, the bloke in the docks telling his solicitor, you should have done this or that etc. but i suppose its something you get used to.

don't worry vik my subject tends to lead me to work with the lower end of the ability range, as its a subject they pick, and i suppose i'm lucky that my students distinguish between appropriate times for using that language. we can't encourage it in schools as the exam board doesn't mark it.

3 hours and arseing around, now thats not a bad fitting time, make sit more of a tasty route.

lol entering a whole new field of stero typing here. see chavs will never get into a porsche, but thats not the issue. for me most porsche drivers are "t0$$ers" and hence why i'd never have one. people even seem to deliberatly key them as well, its even got its own name at the dealerships and in the owners club as a "porsche paint job" otherwise known as keyed to buggery. they are great machines but not the image i'd go for or the automotive and engineering direction i'd take. i wish alfa would make a new version of the GTV, now that would be a smart car

i don't exactly know how toyota are going to run it, but they currently have a hybrid performing in the japanese GT series i think. i wonder if it will be like the current lexus hybrid, uses the motors to pull away, stop start round town stuff, as long as youyr gentle on the pedal etc. but when you put your foot down the V6 kicks in, and bring on the noise.
-
i'm hoping toyota build the HT-FS its basically a hybrid Zed, and possibly the direction i next go in, just have to see if it ever leaves the concept phase

its difficult when dealing in stereo types but basically likw jay said, its the people who drive them, and yes they tend to do hideous things to them, i try and mod on the track side of life. the idea making it look sportier, and meaner etc. and yes i do see the big metal kits on the boy racer side. i'm not into crazy show cars. but it doesn't always mean that person is a boy racer, some people just have bad taste (thats going on my perception, which is by no means a marker for the correct standard, because my taste is crap anyway ) for me (and i saw this on other forums) you know when the boy racers move into a forum as the old txt spk bcomes more noticable. refering to each other as blud, and bruv and describing how they thrashed a ferrari in there smacked out pimp wagon. etc . you get the idea. this may class me as a snob, pompous, up my own arse, but to be honest, i'm happy that way, i've done my rough and ready days, and now enjoy the company of like minded interlectuals and friends.

was going to say what jay said, they don't all roll in corsas and nova's, prime example of high end performance cars turning chav: Ford cossie 306 GTi6 } 205 GTi } all 3 of these were expensive cars when they came out. Golf GTi } Scooby Evo 300zx (not so much) as for classifying a boyracer, it tends to be someone with no taste in mods, and act like a prat in a car. often found in carparks doing donuts, and trying to race each other on public roads. now i maybe on my own here, but i would also classify huge ICE installs as part of that scene. i'm talking about the huge outragous ones.

never new there was menat to be a 400z, to be honest i think that may have been an early prefix, for what is now the 370z

Zedrush's old car for sale bar its been in a smash
rtbiscuit replied to Jay's topic in Spotted on Ebay or Other
CS does the required parts for it, but still too expensive. knock 3k off and maybe worth a look. -
must be doing some serious track days to wear the fronts out first,
-
i disagree, sorry geraghtyr200, i love my performance cars, thats why i get them, but i tend to loose interest in the forums when the boy racers move in. i'd call myself a middle buyer, i don't buy a car when it first comes out as i refuse to take the hit, but i also don't keep a car when its near the bottom of the sales life, as i tend to avoid the image that ends up being associated with them i.e. boyracer etc.
-
i see other road users as moving obstacles, its my job to avoid them, as their aim in life is to hit me. my wife calls me sexist, but the majority of numpty drivers i end up swearing at are female. (not always but 90% of the time). they seem completely oblivious to the fact that anyone else is actually on the road. especially the chelsea tractor drivers. sorry sprinkles i know you lot are ok.

hmmmmmmmm, me thinks they are yanking your ding-a-ling if they are doing a service and it requires brake fluid you drain the system and put the new stuff in. they make it sound like they just top it up. if your using your own fluids it should cost less not more. and if you'd asked them to do the brake lines they should be mechanically ept enough to know the fluid has to com eout as well. their responces does not make me feel confident of their ability. i'd be going else where in future. they are draining your wallet instead of your brake resevoir.

nice to see pics of the unit fitted as well -
even though i want your wheels and bonnet, i still say keep it and go supercharger with it. i would say turbo it, but i'm not a turbo fan, i think supercharger is the way forward with the zed. as it will keep that NA feel to it as the power will be progressive, there won't be any turbo lag, and although it won't have the same power as a turbo at the top end, how much will you actually notice that unless your an avid tracker.
