  1. its why the cassette adapter is the way forward, old skool rules
  2. garages and workman you can trust are like gold dust, i generally go on reccomendations from others, i've taken a chance with Team AFM but they are turning out to be a great little gem. i'm 90% sure i want them to do my service as they do seem good, and have been really good to deal with. but now you post this you put a worry in my brain as i won't be there to watch. but at the end of the day, they have built a good rep in other areas, and hangar 111 use them as do the lotus club, so they can;t be that bad.
  3. i like the bonnet with the 3 vents either side of the centre. have been contemplating just fabricating the vent section, then get a body shop to cut out 2 rectangles from the original bonnet and graft the vents in. shouldn't need any blending. or i suppose i could just wait and see what you guys come up with and buy that
  4. don't worry i know all about composites, i teach kids all about it and i make my own mould and do composite work at school, and my colleague used to be a composites boat builder who specialised in carbon fibre. i still say the majority of carbon fibre is over priced for what it is. but both you and scott and doing good things.
  5. thats the one thing that sput me off about carbon, its not that an expensive process, but it always demands a premium as its seen as new, modern, and space age, and peopel use it in motorsports. so it ends up demanding a premium. its nice to see it starting to come down in price. and i look forward to seeing what yours get priced at.
  6. for me i think that something is missing, i think if your going to go vinyl you have to do more. i think it needs something on the door or something.
  7. definatly get admin to change his status, i think "Resident spam cannon" would be better
  8. of course there is rust there, but its confined to the paintless section. i need to get another tube of special gel again to remove the rust. squirt on leave comback, rust gone. and i'm currently in the process of shopping around
  9. the cosworth and the kinetix extreme one have apparently lost people power in the USA i think thats on NA cars, you won't really see a difference with these unless you go FI or possibly have the car tuned with an ECU remap. best bet is the plenum spacers, possibly the standard minetix plenum, or the one that scots having built. i'm going for option 3 as its basically a plenum spacer with a carbon top and will look nicer than the basic kinetix.
  10. picked up this little beauty about 4 months ago, caught the garage door on the way out just started looking at getting it fixed had my first quote £175 for repairing it at auto-look, www.auto-look.co.uk am waiting for chips away to get back to me, although they haven't seen any pics yet. does this sound about right, it seemed quite high, does anyone have any other reccommended places, i might try my body shp at the same time. Also how easy is it to just change the rear wing, and does anyone have a blade silver passenger side rear wing laying about?
  11. if it were on the other side of "post reply" and "fast reply" and maybe layed out one on top of the other then i don't think it would clutter it

i think vinyl isn't a bad route. and some of the metallic vinyls i have, do have great depth to them. its not just a flat colour. next time you see P15ULT have alook at some of the stuff i did for him to give you an idea on what metallic vinyls are like. i think he's sued my metallic red and metallic black.
  13. yeah the site is bookmarked, might just change it around i suppose. still think my addititon would be better though
  14. looks like your becoming a carbon whore like BM
  15. ouch for the front splitter, should be able to fix that no problem
  16. just says sensaform inspiration. can't remembe rwhere we bought it from either. i'm down that way tonight, so i'll check the store out,
  17. good luck with the purchase. never seen a man so happy to see his car written off
  18. most people get rid of the bridgestones, they just don't have the wet grip that other tyres do. have a search there are cheaper and better options out there. loads of info. main ones mentioned on here: toyo proxies falken 452's vredestein ssantas bridgestone reo50's possibly more but its a mixed bag, go for what you like, thats what everyone else does.
  19. always happy to join a joint meet, i think we've done it a few times with the nameless club, where we have been at the same events. good luck with the new forum, i hope it goes well.
