just a case of breaking the connection on any wire that is required to start the car. personally i'd get a mechanic to do it. i watched 5 trained mechanics in the "young mechanic of the year" competition try and do this and only 2 managed to do it and have it working, and put it in an accessible place. you don't want to have to pop the hood everytime you want to drive off, it will get very tedious. nor do you want to be clambering in the boot. maybe down by the seat or up under the steering wheel.

I tried searching but couldn't find a list of people with OBDII readers and their location, i swear we started one ages ago but can't find it anywhere. so i thought i'd start one. DISCUSSION THREAD AND VOLUNTEERS HERE: viewtopic.php?f=64&t=30972&p=453630#p453630 Idea is if your car throws a CEL/MI or what ever you like to call it, but you don't have the tools to check it, here would be a list of everyone with OBDII code readers and who are willing to read your code for you if you make your way over to them. I'll put a list together of areas in the forum, and people can add themselves if they wish too. to give abit more detail i've just put username, location, and the software available that the person has. i'll try and update the original post as people add to keep all the info on the first post. and maybe get the mods to tidy it up once in a while so it only stays as one page. performance wise didn't notice anything really, might be beneficial when tuned for a difference of about 1bhp over the JWT, but it hopefully doesn't suffer the heat soak that the JWT does at idle. and also has better air to it as it feeds from lower down and is in a box. that is of course imho. but abbey m/s should give a better idea come tune day. as for noise, yes their is a slight difference, but not a huge one. i don't tend to notice induction noise as much as i do exhaust noise. but its made a lovely ensemble with all the bits i have so far. both are good choices, my personal preference is the typhoon. but the jwt is equal as good and a definite value for money mod. for me the typhoon is better. there is more to it. polished intake. air box, carbon lid, and cold air feed from the grille. husky said he difinitly noticed the noise of the typhoon when i was last at his, and did say it sounded tastey.

i haven't really dared post over there overall the kinetix improve the tone of the exhaust, makes it slightly deeper and adds a slight popple to the note. on no load throttle (i.e. revving it while parked up i noticed a very slight rasp as about 4500 while stood outside the car when they were first fitted, but haven't noticed it since, and dont get any rasp while driving. i liek them, was a good fit. just waiting to see if i can make the most of them when i get the car tuned and remapped next moth hopefully. just waiting on one more part to fit which is paid for but delivery isn't until mid jan. then its off to abbey

first owner bought it, but it was broken in delivery, he got a free repalcement. had it sitting around for ages. i originally bought just to repair and sell on. as i got it off a previous member as he was going to bin it. that was repair number 1. that was done by my local body shop with the black rubber stuff on the inside. was told the repair was stronger than the original lip and look at the new breal he wasn't wrong as its a completely different shape. think i sold it to nrez who couldn't make up his mind what stlye he was going for and later settled on the nismo v2 look i think, hence he sold it on to sobrien. think he was the first to spray and fit it, but had several high curb/garage/speedbump incidents think it has been repaired twice more. (you'd need to check with sobrien as he had it) think ti was driver issues not front lip issues again check with ross. now you have it. your repair work looks to have done the job, look forward to seeing it on the car. your local to me, so will have to get a meet organised soon.

vredestein do some winter specific tyres that get very good reviews as well

looking good, glad it found a new home. i think i was the 2nd owner of it. and its an original as well, think your number 5 on the list. its a nice bit of kit. will look excellent once on and done.
-
got this on the car, and i had previously fitted a JWT pop charger, and had a stock air box before that. i really like it, its a nice bit of kit, but the carbon lid isn't a perfect fit. i had to do some fiddling to get it to fit without rattling. but i can let you into the secret on that so that it only takes you 5 minutes the air feed and enclosed box are excellent. and being a K&N filter they are easy to clean. in fact mine is due a clean this month.

i like the pioneer units. you can get a USB link cable for them for alot less and just plug in an external harddrive. much more space than an ipod and you can have it wired in all the time. i have the standalone Pioneer avic f500 satnav hardwired into my car in the cubby. its double din sized but only as thick as 1 and a half fingers. if they can hardwire that into my bose then it should be the same for the 4100 unit.

i'd stick with normal clay bar, as they are dead easy to use.

the billet slat is nice but i dont think it fits that well in the top corners. and the mesh on this is far nicer than halfrauds stuff. they use cut and stretched aluminium, where zunsport use woven stainless. but your right it comes down to taste, and different people use/like different things.
