  1. Hi Ross, Ah OK, will will keep an eye on it and let you know. I feel much better knowing that if it comes back theres a fix for it
  2. I know it's been a while but thought I'd post an update on this. Apparently Abbey MS have found an issue that presents itself with the Exhaust CAM control. There's a fix for this which Abbey MS can do via an UP-REV Remap. I was all set to get this done in the new year, however on Monday I had a service booked and decided to use Fuchs Titan Race Pro S Oil instead of Motul v300. I also had all of the Spark Plugs changed as the cars just hit 5 years of age. It's only been two days but since the oil chnage and spark plug change it's been fine and is driving much more smoothly with no annoying judder during warmup. Could a dodgy spark plug have cause this? I would expect a faulty spark plug to be consistantly faulty rather than inttermittent? I'm not very good when it comes to mechanics though If it does come back again I'll definitely be getting the remap done from either Abbey MS or Mark mentioned they are partnering with TDI-North in Warrington which is a bit nearer to me. Just thought I'd let you guys know in case anyone else has the problem. Cheers Mat
  3. Bit confused on this one, what would the recommended way be to clean the TB. Would you need to remove it completely to avoid touching the butterfly valve? I hope we haven't buggered the TB as it's a 2007 model so have two TB's. I guess a reset by Nissan is a first call and I'll have to hope this resolves it. Mike - thanks for the link, this is the procedure I followed but doesn't seem to work.
  4. Hi Alex, Thanks for the reply, TB was left connected, but the battery disconnected and then usual spray and clean method used. Sorry to sound like a dumb ass but when you say butterfly is that the mechanism inside the TB? We did manually lift the flap to clean inside, is this not good? On a side note I've found a different Nissan dealer who will do a TB reset on the computer for £60 which is much more reasonable. Thanks for your help. Mat
  5. Hi guys, Cleaned my throttle bodys last weekend and now have a high idle (1200rpm) with occasional rev hunting. I've tried the throttle body reset using the following ignition and pedal procedure but it doesn't seem to help (confirmed the engine light is flashing when it shoudl etc). I'm told Nissan use an actual machine to reset the throttle mapping but wondered if anyone knows of a Nissan Specialist near birmingham that might have this equipment? http://my350z.com/fo...-procedure.html I could try Lichfield but they are quite far away. Thanks in advance guys. I can always gpo back to Nissan but £120 seems steeep for a throttle body reset.
  6. Thanks again to everyone for the replies. Nissan had the car for two days and say they couldn't reproduce the fault but did notice it was a bit hesitant very briefly so reset the throttle body (did that last time). In short no fault found and an hours labour charge... Oh well! The annoying thing is I drove it away and within seconds it did it again. To be honest It's not the end of the world as it only does it for about two minutes when the engine is at a certain temp. Might have a go at cleaning the MAF sensor and throttle body but guessing if either were dirty the issue would be more permanent? Failing that might pop into Abbey Motorsport if I'm ever in the Surrey area. Cheers guys!
  7. Yep, makes perfect sense. I'll give it a go and see if it makes any difference but in the mean time have booked it back in with Nissan. Will report back on what happens. It's out of Warranty but they said they can ask Nissan for a good will gesture as it was in Warranty when I reported it last time. Don't hold out too much hope. Thanks for everyone's suggestions Mat
  8. Hi Mikesding Thanks for the reply. The car seems fine on tick over it's literally only when driving. It can be any gear but I'm normally in 2nd or 3rd, at around 1500-2000 rpm. If I'm trying to keep the revs at around that area, say in 2ng gear driving down the high street near my house, then it starts juddering/stuttering. It's as if I'm on and off the throttle. Started off quite mild but now even passengers notice it. Almost like the cars going to cut out or something. If I was to keep the revs at 2500rpm it is fine. Once the car is properly warmed up it doesn't seem to do it any more but also doesn't do it when the engine is very cold when the cold start system keeps the revs a bit higher. It's basically a bit of a bugger to try and reproduce on demand but will try and get over to the dealers to see what they say. Just thought someone may have seen similar. If I ever get to the bottom of it I'll post my findings but in the mean time maybe just get my foot down and get the revs up. Mat
  9. Hi All, I was wondering if you could help me and if anyone had experienced the following before: Car is a 2008 313GT completely standard and done 33k. Car doesn't do very long journeys, only 12.5 miles to my work. When the car engine is warming up it intermittently judders at around 1500 - 2000 rpm. This is normally only when I'm being very gentle on the throttle and just cruising along. If I get my foot down the car seems fine through the rev range. I noticed it a while ago and got Nissan to check it under warranty but it came back as no fault found. To be fair they still re-set the throttle bodies in case this helped which it did seem to but the problem is back again (came back soon after but difficult to reproduce sometimes). I'm going to try and reproduce the issue in front of a Nissan Tech but just in case I can't, has anyone ever seen something like this? After doing a search I wondered if it could be the MAF sensor or if it could be something to do with the throttle bodies still? As always thanks in advance
  10. Also weird, mine starts with X9 and can sometimes be over Nottingham way as have family who live in a little village outside Loughborough. Can't have been me as was in North Wales doing the Evo Triangle. Everyone should do it, roads are amazing!
  11. Right then, I think I may have got to the bottom of this. After living with the stereo for a few weeks now and keeping an ear open for the volume change I have ruled out the following: a) The volume is fine when listening to CD’s The volume is fine when listening to the IPOD. c) The volume only goes up and down when listening to the radio So rather embarrassed to report it seem that the radio signal strength is dropping and instead of getting the usual choppy signal it seems to go a bit quiet instead. Feel like a bit of a doughnut but at least I know it’s not faulty. Never had a problem with the factory unit’s reception but may just be one of those things.
  12. ipod just is not recognised when connected steering loom doesnt work sound is massively quiet big probs and as am technically useless am in big grey area ps incar audio in chelmsford are muppets Sorry for the late reply. With regards the IPod, is the Pioneer set to Ipod under Aux1 input within the settings menu? Your sound issue could be sorted with a line booster but if you are thinking of getting some new front speakers, what about biting the bullet and taking the car to someone like SQ Plus in Manchester or another decent specialist that has worked on the 350z before. They may be able to sort your incartec steering controls, fit the line booster and fit some new speakers in one go. I have heard SQ plus have a good rep but never used them.
  13. I had the F910BT fitted this weekend just gone. I had a fitter who is a friend of the family help with all my wiring as wouldn't have been able to do it on my own but may still be able to help. For the in car tec he had to take 3 of the loose cable and cionnect them up to the spare 16 pin connector. There was instructions on which cables connect to which of the Nissan wires. Also I used the 20-020 cable. The ipod was fairly straight forward and just worked. The one part of the IPod cable plugs into the USB cable that is fixed into the back of the head unit and there is also 3 connectors on the lead that then have to plug back into one of the Pioneer looms, they are labelled audio and video input. Whats the problems you are having?
  14. Had a look through and searched the .pdf manual for ASL but can't find anything. The nearest thing it has is Dynamic volume which is off. It does have SLA which is to try and match the volume of the Ipod/CD function to the volume of the radio but this is not related. It's wierd I didn't notice it today so going to see how it goes. All very odd, will let you know if I suss it out but thanks for the post.
  15. Found a setting called Dynamic Volume so will try that and see if that makes a difference. The manual implies it's just for Sat Nav but you never know. Will post my findings. Cheers for your help.
