  1. i know a while ago when the prices originally dropped it wasn't cheaper to import and buying a UK zed worked out about the same. don't know if the balance has been re addressed since prices went up?
  2. i think you'll struggle at that price with that criteria; not saying it isn't out there, but it will bne a hard find. just beware if your at the top end of your budget these aren't cheap as chips to run. they are cheap in comparison to its rivals but it aint no fiesta.
  3. i'm waiting on this before i go to abbey, am happy to do the dyno'ing while i'm there. discounts always welcome
  4. last night was the first night out of the garage for mine as i stayed over at my gradparents in york. got down to -5/-7 and mine worked fine this morning.
  5. forgot to add to my laws 3/. skid pan training should be mandatory in the driver training before you do your licence. 4/. learner drivers should spend 12 months under tution before they are allowed to sit their test. 5/. doing the advanced motoring course should be manditory and completed within the first 5 years of passing your test. 6/. winter driving techniques should be part of the test.
  6. we shouldn't grit the roads in the first place, its part of the problem. if i was minister for transport my winter ruling would be: 1/. don't grit the roads 2/. all drivers should carry snow chains by law during the winter/snow season. my thinking is you can't use snow chains in the uk as you'd spend half you time putting them on or taking them off as you move between gritted and un gritted. apparently if you use snow chains on normal roads they ruin your tyres. that or do what the fin's do (one of the scandinavian countries) set date everyone swaps to snow tyres/studded tyres.
  7. quick question ian, been setting up my digimoto 5, and when you first put the cable in it asks you what cable your using, which setting did you use?
  8. always been slightly unsure of drilled discs as i've heard they crack more easily, hence i was tempted by the grooved only option. but if they are better than hey ho, they seem to be the choice to go for. also when you look at them they seem to have different surface finishes between ultimax and turbo grooved.
  9. i used to use a rover 214 for pizza delivering
  10. lol i thought they were pretty well hidden, nice attention to detail. i'm not going to be dismantling my engine to do it as i'm too lazy
  11. since i've kitted my car, i'm unsure if i'll do any more track days in mine, so my long term plan is for EBC ultimax discs with either EBC yellow stuff or ferodo DS2500's not sure if the ultimax are better or worse than the turbo groove drilled and grooved ones they do?
  12. i just did 500 miles without any problems, witha good set of tyres and plenty of tread it was no problem at all. did suffolk to york and the snow was crap leaving and crap at the other end but the zed did fine.
  13. mines on order, but there is a delay in production i believe as the manufactuer is off doing some trianing courses for the HSE.
  14. well done on the job, but must admit i'm not a fan of the wrinkle finish. i like the gloss smooth look. didin't know ferrari used a wrinkle look, bu then i've never been close enough to a ferrari engine bay to see look forward to seeing them on the car. sounds silly but i don't remember seeing the cam covers in my engine bay, been so long since i've been in there. anyone fancy sticking up a pic of then engine bay with big arrows on pointing them out
  15. its not as good as it used to be which is a huge shame.
  16. Lots of moisture in the air, cold temp makes it freeze. Possible due to you getting into the car wet, or with snow o your feet. It evaporates while you drive and then the condensation freezes while your parked up. The air con on with the temp on hot will work like a de humidifier. And the recycle air function is the button on the middle of he central dial. Either air brought in from outside, or air recirculated from inside. The little picture on the button should explain it for you.
  17. Do t I know it. Drove up to malton today, the amount of muppets on The road is redicilious.
  18. Following on from Stanski's early crimbo pressie it reminded me that i need a car charger for my wonder phone. i've been browsing the old interweb for ideas, but they all seem to get mixed reviews; either they don't fit properly into cigerette sockets or the connection is dodgy, or they interfere with radio signals, or they give off less power than the phone draws. now the majoirtiy of these chargers aren't cheap and most seem to be around the £15 mark. i don't want to fork out for something that turns out to be an expensive piece of crap. so was wondering what other people are using. these are the 3 i've been looking at: XtremeMac Incharge Auto http://www.blueunplugged.com/p.aspx?p=120905 http://store.apple.com/uk/product/TN787 ... hop_iphone and Kensington USB Car Charger http://store.apple.com/uk/product/TX559 ... TU0MDQxMTE and Griffin PowerJolt SE Car Charger http://store.apple.com/uk/product/TQ398 ... TA4NDYyNzQ
  19. cheers for the info. am just going to try and find a standard car charger, can already play mine through the bose.
  20. cheers nix, and one of my biggest bug bears is the lack of knowledge when it comes to driving in snow in this country. so many people don't know what to do. essex had 190 snow related accidents on the road over 24 hours, its just not neccassary if people actually knew how to drive. i've been tailgated in heavy snowfall with my tail going all over the place. i've watched every car in front of me breaking to go onto a snow/ice covered roundabout and watched everyone of them slide onto the roadabout out of control. so few poeple know how to use their gears, or how to pull away. 3 different cars last week on my road when the snow was first down, sat in their cars polishing the ice with their tyres while sat in first gear revving the nuts off their car.
  21. very nice. i'm looking for a car charger for my iphone at the moment. my wife gave me her car charger from her ipod, but when i connect it up it says something about it not being an offical ipod piece of equipment and remove it now to avoid any damage. is this a BS excuse to make you go out and buy official apple stuff or is this actually true? does your iphone say anything when connecting to the new charger you have?
  22. would you guys give me a weather watch update tomorrow, as i might re try on tuesday.
  23. don't leave it with R35LEE he'll strip it for parts
