  1. heavy foot try putting the air con on smooths out the idle and makes pull aways a little smoother
  2. your best bet is to tell us what your budget is, are we talking under £500 £500-£1000 £1000-£1500 £1500 and above we know what you like so we might be able to guide you in the right direction,
  3. looks really nice and the black lip is a lovely touch
  4. someone like wicked wheels would charge you about £40 to fix that
  5. ebay, you can get any size you like, lots of variety
  6. you won't get a remap out of them especially at nearly £400 your solution then if the seller is paying will be O2 spacers, about £25-£35 from Zmanalex i think. that will fix the problem a remap should mean that the engine is making better use of all the mods and should mean it won't throw a fault code, i'm sure thats the gist of what mark at abbey was telling me. he's the man to speak to and will tell you exaclty what a remap will and won't do
  7. no ones tried it that i know of, but it is very thick vinyl and if after 18 months its looking tired, peel it off and re apply a new bit. that area there should be fairly easy to fit
  8. glens said most of what i would have said as for TD vs Y vs XYZ its all very close, when playing around with NA on this car there isn't alot to be had. i can recommend the invidia but as yet i don't know what its total outcome will be as its not going on the dyno till friday. i would say the new g300 version is better than my g200 as it uses an x pipe to scavenge between the pipes. go with what you like db are the b all and end all, its tone and resonance, you don't want something that booms in the cabin, you can have loud without boomy. i had a custom built hayward and scott system on my old mr2 and with a TRD manifold it was about 105 db and was awesome, but crucially i didn't get any cabin boom. it was just loud get to a meet and try them out, see what you like. just remember the exhausts sounds different once under load.
  9. must admit i was unsure of it before getting some but i really like it, in some ways i actually prefer the dry carbon look
  10. o2 spacers will help cure it, but the best cure would be to get the engine tuned in to use them properly go to abbey get a remap
  11. This is a kind of follow on thread ages ago i posted a pic of my slam panel i got second hand, i had cleaned it up and fitted it. but to be honest i haven't been to happy with it, it still looks really knackered and just wasn't doing the engine bay any favours. as you can see in the picture below so i decided to spruce it up abit. i had some spare DI-NOC carbon fibre vinyl laying around so i thought i'd skin it in total took me and a sharp knife about 30 minutes to do, and must admit it was the easiest job i've done in a long time. i thought i'd post this now, but there is more to come, might get pics up tonight if i finish it, but i'm off to the pub in a bit so will have to wait till later
  12. speed bumps = fine pot holes = fine pot holes in front of speed bumps = i'm not lowered but run a nismo n1 front usually fine but had the above situation once in a very bad slip road off the a14 to a service station. if your lowered and kitted it can be a nightmare. tomtom really need to release a modders nav, that routes you around and away from speed bumps
  13. Was that from the film 'Dude wheres my Car ?' nope a slightly miss spent youth But Does the ECU use a 'rolling code' ? if i remember rightly on older cars the code didn't cycle, so the infared signal is the same every press. newer cars are fitted with a system that cycles the signal each press, and the car is set up to change each time. both the keyfob and the car follow the same mathmatical pattern so they always match up. this si supposed to stop people cloning the code when you use the keyfob and then using it themselves when your not there. with the zed i'm not sure what system is fitted.
  14. nurrishes car is going to be extremely good at porshe baiting

  20. any mod should be disclosed to your insurer. maybe need to find a mod friendly insurer. i tend to do a load of mods before renewing, then renew and disclose all the mods recently done. get them all put on in one hit.
  21. 2 cars in the same street same issue, an unlikely coincidence
  22. sounds like they used a cycling transponder scanner. the machine runs through loads of transponder signals until it locks on to the one for the car, then unlocks it. its enough to get into the car, but they can't start it as they won't be able to get past the emobiliser. old school method, there used to be a watch that you could control your tv with, to lock the signal you used to set it to scan while the tv was used on normal remote. it stored the code and then you could use it normally via the watch. they may have done something similair, been nearby when you got home and locked up and stored the infared code. then reused it while you were asleep.
