  1. That's not a bad looking car at all... The badge snobs will always go for one of the German trio, but I dare say any equivalent will be £10-£15k more .. Kia are a decent product now and with the fantastic warranty and half decent residuals they are worth a look at ..
  2. A wet, damp and patchy cat and fiddle isn't really a great comparison.. That's a road I know very well and must have rode at pace more than 100 times.. It's nasty, perilous and farmers were known to throw @*!# on the road to try and get you off.. It's also covered in camera's and congestion... Tight and technical a car will win, grip and direction change is so much better, but as soon as the throttle can be wound on the car is a dot in the mirrors
  3. Thats a lovely looking Cayman.... I never realised the pre DFi cars were holding up so well... GLWTS..
  4. Yep,... You keep with that 6.....
  5. I try and not lose on a car but rarely keep them more than 12 months... I have had the Z around 5 months now and have been offered profit in 2 x px deals.. a cayenne and a C63.. It's not easy to do and takes a lot of time and research into the market, trying to ascertain what will hold money, make a little or is gonna bomb.. I have had 5 x Z4's and collectively they made me nearly £8000 I had a Z3M coupe and a 911 C4s that I let go for a song, made a few quid but could have made a LOT more if sold at the right time ...but I use all the cars I. It as my daily driver and don't have the luxury of being able to store cars I enjoy it... it's good fun and you effectively get free motoring whilst owning some nice metal along the way
  6. I rode super bikes on the roads until I was 30 and their is no comparison to a car... the experience is so far detached it isn't comparable.. I realised that my talent on a bike was becoming easily surpassed by the bikes capabilities, other drivers trying to take you out on a daily basis and the dwindling amount of decent roads meant the end for me with bikes.. I rode them far to fast anyway causing 2 driving bans in my 20's I look back fondly and think " I got away with it"

    Who will win???

I suppose Gash is a bit harsh, but unless its on the track its just an awful thing to be in/around or drive.. Its super noisy, not very fast and breaks everytime it gets a tattering.. I guess the argument is that its a focused track car,but its a Megane....thats the fact..

    Who will win???

My mate has one of the R26 R Meganes and its absolutely gash...Thats when its running of course..
  9. Decent weather Lots of jobs Fewer Brexit voters Accents you can actually understand Coats Newsreaders Easy access to Europe Airports Proper kebabs Rugby Union Racetracks You lads do tend to make a better cup of tea though Is that in defence for the South or North ?...
  10. Dont see many Z's around here at all.. Spotted around 2pm today...
  11. I tried using a Saab 9000 for work once (much better than a Mondeo) ....... I lasted about a week as what had been a reasonably enjoyable drive turned into a slow and boring one Im not saying they are the be all and end all but the E8* and F2* with the bigger engines and fast Golfs are as close to a single car that does everything I can think of: 5 seats with big boot or hatchback with 2, 3 or 5 doors, as standard they will do 40+ mpg easily and even with 997T performance can still see 30+ mpg. They are fun for a thrash, great on a run, have excellent cabin and build quality and are good enough to embarrass a lot of stuff on track, the Golfs are bulletproof and later 1 series are pretty reliable too. When you can get all of that for under £15K and not worry about depreciation thats a difficult argument to beat - even servicing isnt too bad if you take it to an Indy. No doubt someone will say "mehh, but they all look the same" but realistically nearly anything with 4 seats and a boot looks the same as everything else anyway. Ive always said that BMW are the place to look if you only need one car - 330d touring and 535d touring are just magnificent family cars, and the M550d I drove a little while ago was the definition of executive express but still returned 35mpg at Autobahn speeds. I used to describe the the E46 M3 4 door as the best single car purchase anywhere and the B58 engine 1 and 2 series are moving the game on again, standard cars are actually showing better power and torque figures than M2's ........ :o Im sure there are other cars that can be all things to all men, the days of having to have a family car, a commuting hack and a weekend car are long gone IMO I'm not caring about straight line performance with the Mondeo. But it's more reliable than a Saab and the bits are cheaper if it should go wrong. I paid £1500 for my Mondeo 3 years ago and it keeps going. Never failed to start and tows the kit car with ease. It is getting chopped in for a van though I think. You think of performance as straight lines. Bored. If You want a stright line rush, like I said, get a bike. 0-140mph in 10 seconds. No diesel cancer bus should ever be allowed on a track and I don't care how many times Audi have won Le Mans with them. I just don't see how one car fits, too much of a compromise especially if your car likes to see track. The one thing you don't get from a turbo car is a crisp throttle. Said mate who had the M135i immediately commented on how direct the 350Z makes it's power and how responsive it is. The other thing a 135 lacks is an LSD which is a big loss. I haven't had chance to give one death on a track yet and haven't even seen one on track to comment on their true on the limit composure. I took a 335i around Curbrough sprint course and was impressed at the ability of the front end. The lack of diff probably cost it a couple of seconds in laptime though, especially with the jumped up auto box. Jumped up auto ? DCT ?
  12. What made you buy a 135 out of that bunch of cars ?
  13. It's crazy isn't it ... There has never been a better time to get on the housing ladder and borrow big money... I have a friend who lives around the corner from me, he is in his late 30's, married with 2 kids Him and his wife work and he pays £775 a month to rent a property They went for a mortgage and could only raise £75k .. But surely if you can pay £775 a month in rent then you could get a mortgage for more than £75k ?? Luckily we paid off out mortgage when we were 40, but live in a small house in a good area.. we wanted to go bigger but keep in the same village, but effectively it meant £100-£120k more for 2 more rooms ... Sod that...
  14. Driving as a "skill" has been lost to most... As soon as ABS and TC became commonplace the quality of drivers went down. Its hard to argue with safety tech though, the negative side is that drivers that arent even of average ability think they can spank 300-400-500bhp cars about and think they are perfectly in control, when in reality without all the driver aids they would be upside down within 100 yds of leaving the house..
  15. I think I would go for a light silver/grey colour.. Maybe something like Porsche meteor grey, bmw space grey or stratus .. Then high gloss laquer...
  16. Shirley ? I would say pad transfer.... Discs rarely warp.. If i dont drive mine over weekend i can feel the discs until they have cleaned up/.
  17. ^^^^ I think im on around 120 cars but have been driving 30 years...lol..
  18. 2007 Imola red E39 528i sport 2017. Nissan 370 GT edition ..pearl storm white 2027. Jaguar F type 5.0 Hopefully
  19. I have had a Pontiac firebird transam, lances delta intergrale and an E30 M3 all in LHD I found them ok...although on a daily basis the only thing that cheesed me off was the feeling of sitting in the gutter.. The natural camber of the road amplifies the feeling .
  20. I. Wry nearly bought a 435i .. I like how they look and am a bmw fan in general.. But I thought at the price point they currently sit at that it would rinse cash in my ownership...
  21. Yes it does All GT cars did, not only the GT edition.. I do find the viscous diff works well, it allows a bit more slip.. Ok not the immediate bite of a mech diff but more than adequate for fast road work
  22. Welcome along.. I go to Curborough quite often to watch various meets,im about an hour away over the hills into the High peak. You will love a Z,the drive like a fast Mk2 Escort.
  23. When you say "blowing it".... What do you mean ?
