  1. I always service my own cars... we be daft not too as it's my job .. Despite my Z only having done 1200 miles since last service at Nissan last year and now 8200 miles overall I decided to change all the filters and oil .. No plugs as I didn't see the point at the mileage .. Anyone care to take a guess at the costs? Oil filter Pollen filter 2 x air filters Sump plug crush washer Valvoline 5-30 synpower synthetic oil. All filter blue print..
  2. Seen this car out of the corner of my eye on Mottram moor between Woodhead pass and M67.. The light was going but looked matt grey and had halo rings in the headlights...
  3. 2.... Hill hold assist... 3... Mine has a camera from factory, cant see why one couldnt be retrofitted..
  4. ^^^^^^^^ What colour is that ? Many years ago i had a 300ZX TT that was very similar, was factory paint though..
  5. From what I was reading somewhere on this forum There is a great single flywheel, upgrade clutch and Csc available on the aftermarket for around £850 Labour isn't a lot so would be a good buy at approx half the price of oem stuff
  6. Nice one Let me know details when your ready
  7. Yep Sorry should have put aftermarket

    370z exhaust

Rear box will do Just need a bit more noise but centre as well if needed for fitment .. Anyone deleted backbox and done the short pipe conversion? Too noisy?
  9. I meant the 981... I agree on the engine thing but for a car that could be £5000 a £10,000 bill off Hartech is a big pill to swallow.. Ok if it had 400-500bhp I could accept it.. but for a relatively low power NA engine I think the repair bills are awful.. Even if you spend £20,000+ on a 997.1 or late 996 C4S you don't get any better reliability ... worse in fact.. In ownership if the worse that could happen was £2500-£3000 to get the car back on the road then I think ownership would be feasible.. The paranoia really got to me... and I despise poor engineering which all in all have me bad juju.. Lol..
  10. Picked up tonight..... After all the arguing and buggering about a complete DMF,CSC and clutch was fitted...... All OEM (hands tied as its warranty) And can say that it feels 100% better, all noise and chatter has now gone and clutch operates so much nicer. It took its time but it all worked out well...
  11. Welcome... I park up in Cheshire (just) in the day for work, live in Derbyshire..... My mate has a silver Nismo over the road from me.......Well Jell...
  12. I have had 3 x 996's and a 986.... C2,C4 and a C4s.. I found the paranoia of the engine grenading at any time really took the fun out of them for me.. I honestly think the myth is much better than the reality, the era that these cars were built in was a low point for Porsche..Ekona has covered all the main points, there is a myriad of other bits that fall off, stop working or leak that cost plenty.. A 987 2 i think would be a nice piece of kit.... And the new Cayman is just awesome.....One on my list to own in the next 18 months when prices have reduced a bit more...
  13. Quick update.. Car still not back... Garage had it 11 days now... After much arguing and disagreement, they have fitted a CSC only are ar sending to a NIssan dealer for a full report.. The dual mass and the actual clutch was checked at a transmission specialist and at Nissan once removed and neither could "see" anything physically wrong.. I think i will be going to collect the car tommorrow, and if the pedal is exactly how it was when i dropped it off then i will reject the car, irrelevant of any report..
  14. Thats also a lot of oil to use.. The only other thing i can think of is if the crankcase breathing system is blocked in some way.. Im not particularly familiar with the engine myself..so not sure how it works on this engine, but oil due to crankcase pressure can be pushed into the manifold..
  15. Every tingle, whine drone, whistle is heard in these cars... Next to no sound barriers anywhere. The transmission is noisy as standard.... If its the gearbox bearings then it should do it at the same RPM in every gear...
  16. Mine feels like the clutch diaphragm has a finger damaged, but the rumbling and vibration is intermittent whereas i would expect a consistent noise if the pressure plate was damaged in some way... Time will tell i guess. It is a bit worrying that you have fitted all new and you are still getting issues..
  17. I know what you mean..... And normally i would fit anything to make my like easier,so i would go aftermarket/upgraded.. But in the position i am in,i have to play ball because at any given time they could blame any further failures on something i "asked" to be fitted.. Bit of a catch 22,but with dealing with the trade for more than 30 years and i know the dealer will use any excuse to get out of paying or admitting liabilty...
  18. Hi Tom... Aftermarket but still dual mass or single flywheel conversion ?
  19. I will let them fit what they want too..... That way the part is within warranty and (if) any further problems arise then it can go back again. Richf..... I agree, but this is a little more than dual mass noise... You can feel it in the pedal as you depress,a rough bearing feel and rumbling noise.. Its enough to ruin the feeling of the car.. I have driven and owned many cars that have DMF's fitted and they dont have any detrimental noise or feel unless something is wrong. Looking at the net and seeing that many people have complained of feel and noise on the 370z and being told "its normal",well in my reasoning there is no reason for a DMF to be out of balance at all... Unless the OEM DMF is inherently bad in design, which again i dont think is great... I can also accept that there maybe some pedal feel deterioration over time and miles..... But not at 7900 miles, thats unacceptable to me.
  20. I havent got my car back as yet... I dropped it off on Friday... I did call today and the mechanics said that they are waiting for a CSC as they think thats the problem.. I think it needs a dual mass flywheel too. I will see what the next couple of days bring,if im not getting any further then im going to reject the car totally and ask for my money back. I had it around 21 days and have done around 200 miles in it,90 going forward and back to the dealer so im within that 30 day window where i can negotiate the return of the car.. Not great at sub 8000 miles..
  21. My 4.2 XKR supercharger was doing 13mpg around town and around 27mpg on a delicate run.. I think a 5.0 XKR might be on the list next...
  22. I know you dont buy these cars for best Mpg figures....But had to drop my car off today at supplying garage to sort a few problems under warranty.... Mainly motorway bar around 4 miles out of 50.. 34.1 Mpg..... Not bad at all i thought..
