  1. Oh dear lord... It's both ugly in an impressive way and impressive in an ugly way. It's impressively ugly anyway.
  2. Someone should give the local Hackney constabulary a call.
  3. I think my ebay exhaust for $234 is honestly better value than this mod, my honest opinion. I just wouldn't do anything to my car that was a step backward in terms of performance or efficiency for more noise, setting aside the dangers, perceived or otherwise. The remaining $233 compared to the cost of this mod, for a true dual cat back, a known nice sound and peace of mind that I'm definitely not making my car worse or endangering anything or anyone...yeh, worth it. I'd even call that constructive.
  4. It's not identical to the Japspeed K4, there are subtle differences, but it is based on the same design for sure and its basically the same thing. I'll do some sound clips soon, but don't hold your breath, maybe next week. I do plan on posting a review of this exhaust on the forum but I need to use it a bit first, my car doesn't go out much. I'll try to remember to let you know or update this thread when I do. Out of all the shitbox ebay brands, D-Spec is one of the better ones.
  5. I'm all for paying where it counts... Tyres, oils, brake components, but pay a grand for steel piping that cost 150 bucks to make? No thanks. The haters can flame on, wait til they get me started about the prices charged by premium brands.
  6. My HKS replica cost me about 190 quid off ebay US brand new. Even after delivery and import duties, I had it on the car for a total of about 350 quid. A true dual cat back system with sexy burnt tips. I don't know why it's so cheap, I expect it might rust if it gets wet, and the polish isn't the same as a premium product, but I don't take my car out in the rain and we don't get much here anyway, so I'm not fussed about that. Besides, even if it it did only last 3 or four years in the soggy UK climate, it's still a bargain for the price, and you can still just keep getting it welded up. The sound isn't as refined as others like the ARC of course, but everyone who's heard it loves it, I like it, I'm genuinely thrilled with it for the money. It fitted perfectly out of the box and for me it has a very nice (almost stock silent) character at village speeds and really roars when you step on it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/301952892888
  7. Especially with N/A power, I understand it's important to have the right amount of restriction, with turbos you generally want as much flow as possible. You can **** about with exhaust systems to gain high or low end improvements to a point using higher and lower flow and pulse characteristics, which have definitely been utterly destroyed by your hole. I don't know a great deal about it to be honest, just read a few layman articles, but I feel confident regurgitating it. This is why a 'tuned' exhaust system is supposed to be so beneficial, and why we buy them. A lot of people correctly say that many aftermarket exhausts add no or negligible power, and they are right, but that isn't always what the exhaust makers are aiming for, they're trying to change the area under the power curve in some way and many products achieve that. Having said all that, yes, I bought my exhaust for the noise with absolutely no consideration for MPG or power, but then I also reasonably expect that the system won't make WORSE power than the restrictive stock Y-pipe design (despite being ebay tat, it is a true dual), so I feel I'm in a win-win situation. Which brings me round again to buying an exhaust system instead of making holes in the one you have. You will like more noise, there's no need to test that, get a system known to make a nice noise, it should be every Z owner's first mod. P.S. What's with the ghetto mods lately dude? Student loans getting on top? Not meaning to prod you in a sore spot, tell me to f off if you like!

255/40 and 275/40 are the tyres to go for.

Absolutely ideal fitment for 350Z, might need to roll rears if you put a fat tire on it, otherwise I agree, should be absolutely spot on perfect. If it were me ordering, I would order that exact size.. Can't speak for 370 brakes, but should clear 350Z brembos fine.
  10. Behind passenger seat I keep all the required documentation, legal and insurance papers, etc and a set of jump leads, nothing anywhere else. Not daily driven though. Although I did take it to work and back today instead of the Up, cos it's Friday and I was going to the hairdressers after, which makes it worth the drive. Don't often leave work with a smile on my face.
  11. I knew I'd seen 'em somewhere before, very hot in the E92 community, thanks v much matey. VMR V710. Now to figure out how the hell I'm going to get them in the EU. This is the wheel I want, and will have if I can source it without paying customs. :/ They're still a cast wheel and not particularly light, but they're so beautiful... EDIT: You know what...unless they are a one off special, I'm not so sure they are VMR, they aren't quite the same as either of the similar VMR styles, 710 and 810. The 710 have outer spokes that taper slightly inward at the edge of the rim, the photo above has almost parallel outer tines. The 810 has a distinct lip bevelled around the edge of the spoke design. Funny thing is if you married the two designs, their offspring would be exactly as photo... I still have an account on e90post, I might go get some opinions
  12. Legend! Still, what can he do? There's no law against showing your disapproval to another driver in a non-threatening way, police or not, or has that changed since I left as well! EDIT: Doh, just thought about it properly. If your car was moving and both hands off the wheel, he coulda got ya. Did he?
  13. as he glared, I'd have made sure he saw me clapping.
  14. There's only one real STi, the 22B.
  15. I haven't been to Washington, they say it's pretty dull I'm afraid.
  16. It's actually quite rough compared to a road but anyway...let's say the 'ring is a more realistic simulation of road conditions, I have no issue with that, and I still say that TG test track provides a MUCH better indication of relative performance of cars in my opinion. I return yet again to the fact that there can only be 1000 drivers in all the world that will consistently lap the same times on an 8 minute lap. When the variation in position on the chart is over 100 positions (perhaps a minor exaggeration) for every 10 seconds of said 8 minute lap, you are looking at a COMPLETELY worthless piece of statistical data, that's all I'm saying. I'll go with the last thing you said 'a very foggy, rough indication'.
  17. If anyone's reading this AFTER Stevo is sorted, I'm also after a pair of ballasts, igniters and bulbs from a bi-xenon car, must be able to ship to greece!! Thanks!
  18. My stock shocks with possibly 100k miles on em and no leaks went straight in the bin too.
  19. 3000GT and 300ZX are definitely worthy, particularly the 3000GT, what a car, but I put them in the previous era, the Supra only gets in because of its legendary status and tunability overriding the fact that techically its also a previous gen car. The NSX is exotic, not fair. On a side note, it was a mate with a 3000GT that first opened my eyes to imports, wicked, wicked car.
  20. I am absolutely saying that I think a very large number are not in the appropriate order. And once again, I'm blaming the length of the lap and the variation of surface/driver/prevailing track conditions. The Top Gear test track is a MUCH better meter of which cars are faster, as the times are all made by the same driver on a short lap so much less scope for variation, plus the TG test track is also rough, a good approximation of real road surfaces. The main problem with TG is that they don't care if it's wet or dry, so there's no consistency on that front, but under more controlled conditions, it would make for better comparisons than the Green Hell. Short laps introduce new variables of course, for example, did they warm up the tires, how much fuel are they carrying, but overall, much less scope for variation.
  21. I failed my first driving test for 'not making good progress'. i.e. Going too slowly. Nobody who knows me now would believe it.,
  22. Correct. Sorry about that. Should have mentioned a couple of Sylvias though
  23. Aside: does anyone know what wheel this is? I'm in love. I know its CH-R style, like XXR 530s and similar, but this is different, it's more concave than CH-R and it doesn't have the strengthening webbing between the spokes that the cheap copies have.
