  1. I had similar thoughts at one time, but after seeing them over and over, I decided I just can't get over how G35 spats don't quite look like they were designed for our car (durrr). It's one of those things that would hit me in my OCD 'it just doesn't look quite right'. And yeh, for the rear bumper, unless you change it for one with a lower line altogether (Chargespeed or similar), the only things that go with black side steps, imo, are the full TS style diffuser, the same but with G35 spats instead of the sides of the diffuser, and the Bottomline style rear spats. I have the same dilemma, I have my side skirts now, waiting for a later date when I do a bunch of bodywork together, but I can't decide what other stuff to get to go with them. I'm prob going to go Nismo v2 style front and paint the lip black, with chargespeed or AMS 370Z style (if I'm feeling brave) rear bumper, or goo with stock fropnt and rear bumpers with a VS style lip in black and some kind of spat on the back, plus a tuck to show off my imitation HKS exhaust a bit before it turns grey forever cos it's cheap ebay tat.
  2. Don't let Honda nuts hear you say that haha they would lose their minds. The engine in the s2k is an amazing piece of engineering. Not 10k for an old motor amazing, but still very good. My brother had one, Ive taken another mates track weapon round Spa a few times as well. Im not so sure the F20C is all its cracked up to be, it doesnt rev very quickly, produced bugger all torque and even the power figure isnt amazing. Sure, it revs high and sounds nice but so does a lot of stuff ........ Good cars, no doubt, but great? Yes. Simply because of the feeling to drive down a country road (or through an inner city highway at night) with the top down screaming 9k rpm. Jenba Ittai, as a Miata enthusiast you know what this means, the S2000 has it in spades as well. I can't say I'm in love with the engine either if I'm honest, it needs supercharging, then we're talking about something else entirely. Supra, Skyline, RX7, S2000, 350Z, Evo 5,6,7,8,9. Yes, all these cars are worthy of being mentioned in the same breath, imo, they all bring something from what will surely in the future be considered the great era of Japanese sports cars.
  3. Nice chop considering I know exactly how much time you had to do it. Bravo. Yeh, it looks nice with the louvre as well, I've always been a fan, but you definitely need to bring the rear bumper line down a bit before doing the letters (and plastidip the spoiler (if you dare )).
  4. @ your massage experience. I don't mind Peppa reversing years of negative gender reinforcement if I'm honest, society could use it. Also, no gay, but Jason Statham is objectively a very good looking guy. I have to say that as I'm told there's a slight resemblance when I shave my head.
  5. Gia Cuzzo style spoiler sells Zeds, nice choice. When are you getting another then? Or what's next?
  6. If you had a front lip and some black side-step style skirts, yes, I like it. On a stock car, not so much. Needs moar 'GT' to pull that off, imo. I'd also reduce the size by about 10%. EDIT: IMO, your car would be complete with stated lip (VS or Mines style), side step skirts, black rear spoiler and roof (if not already) top secret style diffuser (or tuck and bottomline spats) WITH tyre lettering. But I realise that's a silly statement, cos thankfully, our tastes are entirely unlikely to coincide in every detail, but hey, just throwing it out there.
  7. They do, the average is 6%. BMWs usually over estimate about 7% (source: time spent on BMW enthusiast forums), Hondas around 5% over (Source: own tests on S2000 and EP3 type R, both with stock rims and tyres), don't have any data from other MFRs. Of course, as soon as you change tyres, you need to have the rollout data (comparative circumferences) to calculate how much you've changed that.
  8. Call me an idealist, but I want to believe that they are thinking as I do, simply that the deterrents were not big enough to hurt the rich.
  9. Billionnaire got a half million pound fine in Switzerland under this model. Screw it, let's bring back the law from the late 1800s as stated in that article... 10 lashes!!
  10. That's not a bad idea, but I can't get away from the fact that it makes no difference to the person you killed, if you killed them on your first or latest offence, the goal is surely to make the deterrent big enough in the first place that nobody gets killed.
  11. If someone's already traced it to a cylinder, it's not going to be something simple, next step is to take the top off and have a look, no?
  12. I was going to reply but got nothing to add to this, except... I know its cheesy and I hate to admit it (cos the yanks don't need ANY boosts to their self-image whatsoever), but just walking around near the metlife building and central park, it really does feel like you're living in 100 different hollywood movies, and at night, a different 100.
  13. For me it's simply the fact that if you are in the top 30% of earners in the UK, you are not going to care all that much about getting a 500 quid fine, whereas if it's ten times that, you will. It also ensures that people with no income aren't bankrupted by a silly speed camera offence. Even if it is intended as a money grabbing tactic, the real world benefits seem obvious to me. Just out of curiosity, how is it that the rich pay more for the roads in the UK? Here in Greece, it has nothing to do with income, just the size of the engine and CO2 emissions.
  14. There's a little communist in me now, thanks to the Greek crisis showing how the rich who caused the problems are insulated, while the poor people pay for it, makes me all for this kind of thing. I actually believe all monetary penalties should be based on the earning ability of the perpetrator. Simply because a 5 grand fine is indeed unlikely to hurt a high earner, such as a football player or partner of a law firm, which funnily enough are the ones with the fast cars. Sounds alright to me. At least it makes the deterrent the same for everyone, I'd say a win for road safety and equality.
  15. My personal experience is that you can scratch the black coating off the HR plastics with little more than flirtatious look. Can't do that on my DE. A year ago I looked at the only HR I've ever seen in Greece, it had 18,000 miles and the owner was asking silly money for it (22k), and the interior plastics all looked absolutely terrible. Probably owned by a woman with rings and nails, but still, it was really, REALLY bad on the door trims and the center console. My DE interior which probably has 200k kilometers on it looks better. Plus this...^
  16. I don't know, honestly, but I believe that if cleaned and prepped properly, it would stick initially, for how long though...
  17. What's not to love! Idiotproof colour in a can!
  18. While I do think vulcanising solution from a bicycle puncture repair kit will work, I think personally, I would probably buy a tin of white plastidip, spray some into a beaker and get my paintbrush out.
  19. I'd get an HR just for the bonnet. Then cry about the interior plastics.
  20. 'ring times is another subject of constant amusement to me. I challenge any driver to go to the ring 10 days in a row, in the same car, do 5 laps on each day, then check them all at the end, and have all 50 lap times within 5 seconds of each other. That's what you would need to be able to do to be able to say that you are consistent enough WITH THAT CAR to post an 'official' lap time for that vehicle, under the average track circumstances over the ten days. Times intended to directly compete with that, would then have to be posted under the same standards of consistency. Having an itchy left testicle will affect your lap time over the course of an 8 minute lap. Posted ring times are just propaganda and utterly meaningless, just the best run their best driver managed to get with the strongest example of the model they could find during the course of their stay at the 'ring. Going on the hottest day of the year will net you 10 seconds on semi slicks, it's completely crazy the variation on an 8 minute lap.
  21. Come to Greece, you'd love it here, the guy doing the overtake would have sworn at you for being in his way and not slowing down ENOUGH to make it easier for him. No word of a lie, I promise you. Great post though.
  22. Nearly a million 350Zs have been manufactured I believe, so it's never going to be a classic, if you are thinking of selling, but not doing so because of the money you lost fixing the car, then waiting is only going to compound that problem. If you're going to sell, do it asap.
  23. I paid 8 grand for mine in September with starship mileage and almost everything on the car broken, cut springs, perches, 10 ton china alloys, chavved up and abused. Good examples here are going for 14+. You'll be pleased to know that mine will be restored to pristine soon, a rare Greek Z saved! Also, I will make money on the fixing up. It won't cost me 6 grand to make it better than the examples that are going for 14, so it worked out economical, this time...
