Most modern cars have auto lights I think it started to happen around 2009 I think it when drl came as standard on new cars. Even when they don't come on in say foggy conditions if you put your fog lights on the lights do come on as well.

Although admiral were great for me I had to start with no no claims for my zed even though I had 9 years no claims with my daily insignia car. They don't even take my 7 years no claims on with my motorcycle 😩.
