Achievement unlocked. Fit aero parts now? Yes/No?
-
Parts are already being bought as mentioned in the original post. You cant say never as someone in this thread was half way there Parts purchased so far include (coilovers, exhaust, bodykit) next brake kit, turbo kit, new dash and new tires Its going to be a long process for sure.
-
Bragging right probably. Trying to explain contentment to someone whos chasing numbers like greyhound chasing the bait lol its no use. For everyone that has 1000hp, Jonny in Yorkshire has 1200hp. Like someone mentioned where does it end. Not to mention modified cars are constantly in the garage getting things repaired it all comes with risk and less reliability. Hes not really a social media guy but wants to start youtube apparently once the work starts. Its not easy delivering content week in week out. Puts pressure on, half these youtubers get discounted parts even free in some cases he's spending his own money.
-
I thought they were discontinued? Im not sure on reliability. They do have common issues to look out for if going used. Get a warranty with it
-
Life gets in the way. No he hasnt so much as been on a track day. Which im still due to go with my 370. Better off going to an open car park and learning how to drift and counter steer With that level of power you need some serious skills. Too Many variables and things that could go wrong. Even going in a straight line with that level of power is dangerous. As someone mentioned earlier, a system to manage traction, im not sure if the stock LSD can do a job at that power level. When you start adding it all up youre basically replacing or modifying majority of the moving parts
-
He assumes it wont be enough and still stock. I meant in a rolling race its close. Was yours single or twin turbo?
-
true, yeah i meant that 600hp should be sufficient power in a 1500kg car. Would beat a stock GTR. The biggest hindrance right now is getting the Single or Twins turbos as well as Supporting mods totalling well over 10k havent spoken about labour costs fitting them. Gearbox swap, new Dashboard, new wheels on top of the brake kit. Crazy money. Yeah at least £15-£20,000....
-
I live 10 - 15 minutes away. Spotted another 370Z there...Easy place to get nabbed by police. Good find. Looks like single Turbo. Fast no doubt. Must have hit 130 mph there, not a smooth road either Power band is like ekona mentioned, 2.5k not huge. Would need race cams or built engine to rev longer. Getting into technical territory. Rickys car at the time was 750 hp with methanol kit but the DCT and more efficient turbo. This guy would have needed 950-1000hp or just better rev range/power band
-
its still stock pretty much and it hasn't been driven in over 18 months. Just stored at the moment
-
Then maybe a manual gearbox conversion because sequential shifter cost will leave the average guy in tears
-
I think he prefers twin turbo over single large turbo. I was asking when he would be getting it. Most likely after the brake kit and cant see it being cheap at all. £8,000 for the kit alone? Hes not building it himself. He wont even wash his own car lol. Its going to be a third party.
-
im still at 70 mph talk about gapped
-
Hes adamant that 600hp is not enough. Its a 2jz auto. Which a manual conversion might be an option. He wants a 1000hp engine. Might be some years but he's already ordering parts in process of getting a big brake kit for £2000. He also does 70 hour weeks to fund it. Does anyone here have experience of an 800hp or more Toyota Supra 2jZgte? Ive watched videos from US, Canada, Japan and Eastern Europe. One I notice is that none of these Supras are driven at the limit but mostly in Neutral and inconsistently. I remember the youtube video 'supra from hell', sure was funny at the time. It was probably the point where GTR wasnt an option anymore. I told him to expect to spend in the region of £20,000-£30,000. For someone who doesn't earn a great amount of money we are talking a few years project. I already told him 600hp is more than enough for the streets. The obsession with power and living on Youtube has taken over. In UK im well aware the dmo llf clan on YouTube are claiming 800-1000hp and 210mph in M5 and E63. Theyve had guests with 800+ hp. Im just wondering how feasible is it to drive on our golden British roads which are 80% wet and potholed. Many choose not to track or even drag these cars. Any experience with these levels of power? Sure hes his own man and will do it. Thats his dream. Im only concerned it may land him in trouble Apologies for the essay.

I think thats future goals. I saw your 350 in Brighton. I think thats all ill ever need. As long as its reliable and ticks the boxes why buy new 4 banger for £45,000

Interesting DP, it always reminds me of the Nismo 370 compared to other daily cars
-
lol depends on how wide the net is when searching. The seating position in the Yaris is said to be off putting. Its not like an EP3 where you can sit on the lean. Its similar to the old clio Still pricey. Better off going Supercharged on the Nismo than buying a Supra or GTR. Cost to buy used Nismo 370 - £20000 Top Supercharger - £8000 Supporting breather mods -£2000? Big Brake kit - £2500 Coilovers? - £800 Roughly Same price as a circuit GR Yaris Still cheaper than a new 2 litre Supra at £45,000 Imagine i get a 60 plate 370gt instead ill need to upgrade suspension anyway still cheaper than a new car. Different strokes. I guess you save on petrol with the Yaris. Not much when flooring it everywhere. I bet its still 28 mpg after caning it Also is it better to get an 86 and Charge that to 300hp instead of a 2 liter Supra?! I heard some stories about bottom ends
-
ha, ill leave the logistics to the experts. This wont be a roll on roll off affair to save a few pounds. Dont want pirates getting their grubby hands on the goods Nissan paint wearing thin at sea

Toyota think EVs are overrated. Thats the joint top manufacturer in the world saying that. They will continue to make hybrids post 2030 and may introduce EV. I think with the alternate fuels you never know. LC500 arent coming down fast. With the prices of the rivals I cant see the Z being cheap at all. I just hope used ones will be around the 30k mark. Highly unlikely as 2019 Supras are still £45,000 but whos buying. Im yet to see a Supra on the road. I just think when the Z drops it will more talked about and loved than the Supra. It wont necessarily translate into better sales. I think a steady 2500-4000 per year worldwide is all Nissan are expecting for 5 years till a facelift or potential hybrid. Now the 2 litre Supra is here and the high price. Im keen to see if the new 86 stays at £30,000 or goes up to £36,000 Hopefully Z will be priced around £40,000 for the GT in Japan and £47,000 for the Nismo. After 1 year and 8k miles that could be £30,000 and £37,000 excluding shipping fees potentially. After seeing Supra I doubt it More like £40,000-£45000 used.....with all the pcp/hp available in US
-
Its still around £10,000 more than the equivalent Z4 and £10,000 less than the 3.0 You can pick up a 2020 Z4 for £29,000 with some miles on it https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/toyota/supra/353986/new-toyota-gr-supra-20-hits-uk-priced-ps45995

chrome, perforated metal, lined with thick rubber underbodies, well oiled ball bearings. The use of quality materials like alcantara, premium scratchless plastic and soft matte finishes. So 2019. All replaced by extended custom designed AMOLED screens that curve and bend to you the driver. Now password protected with valet mode perhaps. Innovative

I think petrol cars will retain their value and still be an option for the public, car enthusiasts and anti ev brigade. If by then synthetic or alternative fuel is an option the may offer that as hybrid alternative with companies offering conversion to alternative fuel and alcohol could be a possibility. It depends on what BP, Shell, Esso and co want to offer. They have tried with LPG Also new cars sold between 2028 - 2030 if they could be made cheaper than EV in general there could be a jump in sales flooding the market with the last ICE vehicles. The government would probably want to ban importation of pure ICE cars.
-
Aside from the crossover sitting position and 137 mile range looks good. £32,000? well when i looked 4 months ago they were £29000 with a few miles. Holy depreciation with a few miles you can bag one for £24,999. I hope this happens to the 400Z in Japan lol wow
-
Its still irritating to hear a young inexperienced sales guy ripping it. When youre a german guy you probably cant understand the essence of NA lightweight cars. He also said out of 12 test drives for the GR Yaris only 1 order was made. I dont know if its the low sales ability, the Yaris seating position or just joyriders checking out the hype lol Ofcourse im a big fan of NA so I understand what @ekona means I will book a test drive for both 86 and Yaris for the fun of it and let you guys know

Or sell the Stang get a 66 plate onwards R8 for a year lol....Best shape imo....As long as you can stomach service costs
