Porsche or Porsche Indie?
-
@AMT mines available for sale. Still in two minds so not on Autotrader yet. Since the service it flies now 😂.
-
Im not too sure about that. Maybe someone more mechanically Technical can chime in. Like with most parts. Best to replace in pairs. The other one might go when prices or parts are scarce and you pay more. Seems steep but id change both. One mount would be stronger and fresher than the other. Not sure what the side effects are.
-
Wow the dreaded Engine Mount...I wonder if Porsche would have covered that? Sounds like wear and tear. £1100 seems cheap compared to what some YouTube guy paid. Unless these are different mounts. Isnt it best to replace in pairs?!

Up till pre pandemic i saw a v6 clio in my area. Back in the day like 10+ years ago... They were £15000. My brother had the 182 cup. He was fast beating GTis. Then my uncle came to the house and said we saw a Clio that would eat yours. The V6! To the sounds of "yeah yeah"😂 -
who said anything about the tyres touching the ground?! Its either suspended or got tyre guides so you dont get flat spots on the rubber

But the idea to put a V8 in a small car like an SLK was a brave move. It probably didnt make them money but got people thinking that small roadsters dont have to be confined to small engines -

Boxster S with PSE in Korea Lockdown type open road. Apparently this road in Korea has since had speed humps installed lol... -
Not yet then....timed exclusive for Supercars. Then maybe £1000+ for a set of 4 on the Z. It will probably cost £290 per Tyre before any discounts
-
How much?

The OP will make up his own mind through his own research. Meanwhile we all like different things. Check out my owners experience of the 370Z. Theres also the cheaper GT to consider. Highly moddable and Nismo parts if you wish to go that route. For example you could get a GT for 14k and get the Nismo kit and Steering wheel for little over 2k or other parts modded. Americans claim the GT is actually very close to the Nismo on the track. Sure the Nismo is more clout than "better". It is more special. Nismo are little over £20k a bit overpriced. There is one floating for £19999. Maybe go see the 987 and check out the Nismo on same day? There is a weight difference between the two cars that change the drive. 987 is around 1375kg minimum Nismo is around 1535kg at best 987 are relatively reasonable prices now. Could change quickly though 987 maybe youve seen the reviews already. Then go from there.

A bit of sun helps. -
Time has come to move on and try something else after 4 Zeds. Ultra reliable cars. Great car with a lot of character. More down low than the Nismo. If you dont want too many looks! Faster than the Nismo and Manual 370s and 350Z. Just Fully Serviced and 11 Months MOT. Including Coolant and Spark Plugs. Lots of pad left i had a look and inspected the discs. They're good for 10,000 miles more. Bodywork is in decent condition. Few stonechips and 2 barely visible keymarks. One On bonnet and one on drivers Wing. Wheels could do with a refresh. Generally they clean up well. Reasonable offers considered. Purchased from family owned Prestige Motors in Sheffield. 3 previous owners. One apparently a footballer hehe. Theres a bit history of the car. Owned for 1 year 2 months. Covered 10,000 miles. 52000 Miles 11 months MOT no advisories Just serviced with Coolant and Spark Plugs 0-60 in 4.7 seconds No mods OEM Fairly responsive as just serviced GT Edition with different camber and suspension setup from factory Paddle shift/7 Speed Auto Snow Mode (reduces power) No sport modes, just throttle position Heated Leather/Alcantara Seats Alcantara door cards Free new Y Pipe Free Nismo backbox Spare Steering Lock Paddle shifters Cruise Control Bluetooth connectivity Hard drive to store music USB Input, AUX Video Player Sat Nav Xenon headlights Price is £13999. Forum members price. Was originally purchased at £17500. I could have got a nismo at the time but wanted the Auto. Been on a few roadtrips and the cars been the perfect cruiser. Run on Tesco 99 and Shell V Power. Economical for V6. Up to 35 MPG on a long run. Ive seen 38mpg. No rush to sell. Selling as looking at other cars.

Funny thing is the slk 55 2nd gen r171 was causing issues with Caymans on the track up to 5 years ago. Handling is debatable from the track videos ive seen they seem decent and controllable. They do however have issues. This one has some mods tho -

didnt want to be that guy starting another thread but also looking at these SLK. The 350s are level with 350Z. Theres also the older 2000-2003 SLK mk 1 SLK 32 rare gems with Supercharger 354hp some tuned to 400hp weighing only 1300kg. The 172 2012 - 2016 do have some issues including roof leaks and exhaust valve. They are rare and come with a 5.4 v8. They weigh around 1620kg. 394 ft lbs and 4.6 seconds so as fast as a NA v8 needs to be. Roadtax is £340 and has the 4 cylinder shutoff system for economical driving. Not to be confused with SL which has its own issues -
welcome to Z life

My neighbour had a yellow mid 2000s 987 3.4 boxster for around 3 years. It did get a bit of attention street parked. Retired and got a Smart car to whiz about. They seem to have jumped up a lot in price since he sold his over 6 years ago. http://m.australiancar.reviews/reviews.php#!content=recalls&make=Porsche&model=Boxster&gen=763

hmmm....under 20k wont get you a mk2 right now. Last year maybe. One or Two mk2 Nismos went for sub 20k in winter. If you do go for the Porsche just be aware that paying thousands of pounds in maintenance is the norm. Get a full blown warranty from Porsche to cover most things. Its around £1300 for 24 months and theyd probably want to carry out an inspection and other to do lists before accepting the car. PDK gearboxes are not cheap. A German out of warranty is a boat without a paddle on shits creek! Ive seen a YouTuber say he spent £5000 on the 981 in first 12 months. Not sure what issues are on the 987 out of the usual. Make sure theyve been taken care of id say. Nismo just need to watch out for tramlining, clutch, wet seatbelts....check seals and look out for rust.

He's right. Reliability will be an issue. Then again if the pockets are deep enough and you can keep a secret......
