  1. Looking for Hawk pads that are a step up from OEM. I dont need Ceramics or Racing grade. Just Streets performance is fine.
  2. speaks for itself really. No one matching Daveys attendance numbers and events. Might still have the car. 1. davey_8 2. pintopete58 3. George1966 4. Rhysos 5. Headphones 6. 3. On the drag strip with a "proper driver" and PDK the Cayman S is a Cheetah and pips the R8 for the quarter mile. Conditions, Tyres and Wind direction dependant obviously 😎. The V8 comes into its own post 120 mph all the way to a higher top speed. Nothing to prove post 400 metres anyway 🤧. 4. For those interested. R8 V8 vs Cayman S 981 lap times. As you can see the faster straight line speed goes to the R8. Then the more winding tracks the Cayman is on the R8 tail 😎. But the Torque from the V8 proves a lot. The Cayman has a near 235kg weight loss on the R8. So some winding tracks the Cayman S is capable. So the GTS could be a bit closer with a proper driver and PDK Lap Times Track R8 4.2 FSI Quattro Porsche Cayman S Laguna Seca (post 1988) 1:40.75 1:41.26 Ring Knutstrop (Conf 2) 1:13.50 1:12.70 Mireval 1:36.60 1:35.93 Motortrend Figure-8 0:24.30 0:24.10 Madras Motor Race Track 1:54.40 1:58.70 Autozeitung test track 1:39.40 1:40.40 Hockenheim Short 1:12.70 1:12.80 Contidrom (3.3 km) 1:33.46 1:34.23 Willow Springs - Streets of Willow Extended 1:26.92 1:27.00 Tsukuba 1:03.88 1:06.01
  5. The R8 will probably prove more reliable than JLR 😎
  6. Good shout. They look good but they're not as reliable and are heavier. Neither is a Porsche 😂. I still want it though. I guess ill learn fast either way!
  7. For peace of mind yep. With the car you can be in lands end or john o groats at the touch of a start button. No longer required to hang around negativity! 😎 Just 3 to 4 weeks I reckon. Might check in with the weather crew hopefully theyll have some good news 😂.
  8. 3-4 weeks from decent weather. Are you in Gloucester? Some decent roads up that way.
  9. Yeah thats the best way. I like people in small doses. Life is much more peaceful without the drama and Hollywood certain characters bring. Rather enjoy my own time. If im feeling social then an hour here and there on a Sunday doesn't hurt. Then some people remind you why its best to keep to yourself sometimes lol. Sure life is not the most fun when being anti social but the worlds different now. With more freedom you can literally duck and avoid people as much or as little as possible. I do like meeting new people then the vetting process kicks in lol...I suppose you have to make your own judgement and pick the better poison. Family, inheritance and close ties vs Partner and estranged but happier.... Forge your own path and maybe patch it up later if people are willing to compromise.....not without risk.... Id happily forge my own path for my sanity. In your case seems only Father is reasonable. You can still patch it up with the rest. Just keep them at bay or interactions to a minimum. 1hr Christmas dinner and keep it moving. If anyone seeks more interaction then clear the air and put everything on the table.."i dont like how you did x...., im willin to let bygones be...shake on it or..." . with family you can only try if they revert back to old ways.......keep it moving no biggie
  10. Family eh. Theyd do you worse than a stranger! The 350Z was probably the first car I acclamatized to higher costs of maintaining a car. People are still shocked when I tell them how much brakes and tires are on the Z. Once you go indie its basically indie the rest of the way. Some indies do offer warranty but it depends on if they think its profitable or not. Its probably underwritten by someone else..... Ive got warranty on my Z. The likelihood is ill probably not need it. Regards to android auto, they probably wont cover your audio a bit like when i had short tails on my first Nismo. Nissan said anything related to the exhaust system is not covered. They happily cover everything else. As long as the fault is investigated and not related to your mod. Might be different with Porsche however. Thats why more manufacturers are offering aftermarket retrofits nowadays. So customers can buy things like Android Auto through them and still be covered
  11. Even in the year 2045 where everything is EV or Ethanol etc. You probably wont get a 987 for less than 9k 😂
  12. People are still waiting for their cars a year later in US, Canada, Japan and Australia. Disastrous launch. Anywho Nismo in camo
  13. Brave... Id have been on the blower to Porsche Warranty Services as soon as I left the lot. That being said im not sure if theyd cover it. Maybe, Maybe not. Its kind of expected this type of cost. Id get some type of cover. PDK is £3000 used up to £9000+ for a new unit apparently. Can have a rain fund but its a gamble on what goes next. Some might see cover as a waste of money.
  14. @AMT mines available for sale. Still in two minds so not on Autotrader yet. Since the service it flies now 😂.
  15. Im not too sure about that. Maybe someone more mechanically Technical can chime in. Like with most parts. Best to replace in pairs. The other one might go when prices or parts are scarce and you pay more. Seems steep but id change both. One mount would be stronger and fresher than the other. Not sure what the side effects are.
  16. Wow the dreaded Engine Mount...I wonder if Porsche would have covered that? Sounds like wear and tear. £1100 seems cheap compared to what some YouTube guy paid. Unless these are different mounts. Isnt it best to replace in pairs?!
  17. Up till pre pandemic i saw a v6 clio in my area. Back in the day like 10+ years ago... They were £15000. My brother had the 182 cup. He was fast beating GTis. Then my uncle came to the house and said we saw a Clio that would eat yours. The V6! To the sounds of "yeah yeah"😂
  18. who said anything about the tyres touching the ground?! Its either suspended or got tyre guides so you dont get flat spots on the rubber
  19. But the idea to put a V8 in a small car like an SLK was a brave move. It probably didnt make them money but got people thinking that small roadsters dont have to be confined to small engines
  20. *awaits real life audio engineer to arrive* "Been using low bit rate Mono speakers again"
  21. Boxster S with PSE in Korea Lockdown type open road. Apparently this road in Korea has since had speed humps installed lol...
  22. Not yet then....timed exclusive for Supercars. Then maybe £1000+ for a set of 4 on the Z. It will probably cost £290 per Tyre before any discounts
