  1. I guess its new age 'boy-racers' they mean - in financed fiestas etc? the old school type's cars couldnt reach 100 very easily lol. I understand the middle age men in luxury cars, Audis and BMW's always seem to be travelling quicker than anyone else. Infact my mate has recently bought an Audi. Hes only 30 but since getting it I have noticed he does drive alot quicker than he did in the golf, he came up behind me at about 70 in a 30 last night! (probably because he saw me though tbh) Thats another thing that annoys me about speed though, I have never been a fast driver, and people actually comment and judge saying 'well you should be going quick if you have a car like that'. But I dont see that owning a 350z means I have to break the law?
  2. the car is pretty much finished now, just a couple of scrapes which need a quick respray.
  3. too be honest thats what I was thinking. Did the OP not research the car before buying it? I would have thought the DE HR difference is an obvious one if you know what you are looking at buying? When I bought mine I had no experience with Zeds, but did enough research to know I wanted the lower tax band
  4. just popped a simple K&N panel filter in the OEM box, tempted with a cone, as my car isnt built for speed, so the sound outways the power loss
  5. yes I did wonder about that Nixy. Where exactly are the points which trigger the alarm to go off?
  6. the carbon bonnet went for £400, not bad for brand new! Anyone on here get it?
  7. OK so here's an update, the alarm is still going off, even this morning at work - its a nice sunny day so the cold must not be the issue. next up was the battery. i have had no issues with starting etc so couldn't see this being the issue, but in the face of science and angry neighbours i popped to Halfords. the tested it for free would you believe it! (*considering they sting you £3 to change your wipers lol). After many car compliments, the results were in - 409/500. very good battery! Right next plan was the Air conditioning. I haven't ever cleaned it out, so this idea was a nice one even if it doesn't fix the issue. So I bought a bomb! This was set off 20 minutes ago, and went for 10 minutes. By god the car smells fresh! I am currently sitting in my office chewing on half a french stick filled with salmon, and have given the warehouse boys stick instructions to report back to me if it goes off again. Alio, I have only just seen your message, and if it goes off again, your solution will be next on the list, so thankyou

  9. wont put my name down till I know for sure, but very tempted as I have never done something like this

    0 - 60 mph..

yes I wondered that, I have never been on a dyno, probably a good place to start! Just thought if someone could go 1st gear 6000rpm 2nd gear 5500rpm .... It may help the OP as well as me
  11. Do it for looks, My car has a CF vented bonnet, and after a frisky drive it looks like a dragon with heated nostrils

    0 - 60 mph..

whilst we are on the subject. I have never done proper track driving, nothing competitive etc, so not sure about this: Is there a certain place on the rev counter to change each gear if your going quick in a straight line, or do you just red line it all?
  13. Somehow missed a chance to talk about cats, anyway here are our two Belly-puss And monty-puss Belle named after the Disney princess, and Monty named after one of my favourite Ales. Belle has separation issues so follows me everywhere, people think she fancies me (in that photos he was just sitting staring at me) Monty is a natural assassin killer, who has single handily kept the rabbit and rat problem at bay for local farmers - who have come and commented on our special killer! They are sisters
  14. I agreed, much prefer it with one intake, looks meaner. Symmetry is so predictable
  15. I got mine from eBay, purely for the looks, but surely it helps the airflow, seeing that it goes straight into the intake, instead of just being a solid bumper, which acts like a barrier?
  16. Dam maybe it was a shiny, should have gone after it
  17. Sorry I don't, but I'm so dam curious what nightmare requires stationary!
  18. Actually my misses spotted it as I was in the back with the baby (in the focus not zed!) we followed it around the back of the park, until it turned off. Havent seen one in red before
  19. I didnt realise you could send them away to be done, I might price is up. But im guessing it wont be cheap!
  20. cheers mate, using the car for our wedding in May, and its nearly ready! just a few chips and scrapes to tidy up now
  21. I think I must have the same issue. I thought the motor was broke, most of the time it just doesnt move at all, but some times it has the power to go down, but goes up reaaallllyyyyy slowly - so would you suggest we have the same problem? (mine struggles with both passenger and drivers switch for the window)
  22. ok thanks for that, its a start. the idea is just to wire it up to the switch in the car next to the heated seats - so it is seperate to the actual cars lights. On photos on google of the MOD to 06+ cars they just use a single red LED drilled into a little hole in the projector. I was wondering if this is able to be done without dismantling the headlight unit?
  23. I fancy giving this a go, since my car is starting to look devilish, it would look great on photos. This is a 2004 zed, so not a facelift if that makes much of a difference to the headlights The plan is to have it linked up to the third switch next to the heated seat switches. questions 1. does anyone have a DIY for doing it? I have internet searched but havent seen anything about wiring up to switches. 2. do the lights need to come out or is it possible to do on the car? all the headlight needs is a little hole drilled, so how easy is it to get to? 3. can you buy a switch to use where the blank is, or can this be used and its just held static at the moment? Thanks George
  24. zed is looking more aggressive again today after a quick spray of the grill and lip, I like it, but sadly the masking tape wasnt the best so the edges need a tidy up - not an issue but need a bit less rain for it!
