  1. Another ten years? http://www.bbc.co.uk...siness-38090977 We're living in an era of kick-the-can-down-the-road. I don't see any recovery from 2008 for at least a couple of decades. And 220 million on pinch points. It would cost that just to fix Deesides horrifically Five lane into Two lane pinch point.
  2. Photoshop CS6 is what I use, and it's great for what I need it for. It's great for anything really, it's top of the line software. You can get Photoshop CC (Creative Cloud) on sale until tomorrow for £8.50 a month. Same as CS6 really, just you get more stuff thrown in, and it's not one huge cost up front.
  3. What Kyle said. Make a fair bit back on your ARK. An ARK won't really add any value to your car.
  4. Car battery I assume? Try disconnecting the battery for 15+ minutes.
  5. Pointless really, you can get 100% Prime for another 2 quid a month
  6. Balls, I'll miss it. Will catch up tomorrow. Gotta be better than the new Top Gear, sheesh, that show is appalling.
  7. Good luck, I'm sure she'll make a full recovery. I see her on my way to work most days. Think I saw you in her Z last week or so. Some damage on the lower offside wing?
  8. Full service history, bar one. Serviced myself last time. I don't trust garages with my car (Former mechanic) 80k miles MOT until March Owned since June 2015. Lovely vehicle to drive around the Welsh hills. Aside from a Cobra Stainless exhaust system I fitted a few months ago, it's unmodified. Body work is in excellent condition. Roof is excellent - I suspect the last owner replaced it, and not with the cheap vinyl option, as it looks too new for 10 years. Mohair I believe. Alloys are also in excellent condition. 10 years, and not a single scuff. So indicative of a very well looked after vehicle in my opinion. Brembo brakes are also in excellent condition with their original bronze paint. Tyres are Vredestein Sessanta, all round. An excellent tyre. Full leather heated and power controlled seats. No rips or tears. AC is cold, and climate control fully functional. Aux belts changed a few months ago Stainless hydraulic clutch line fitted Brand new Battery fitted last weekend No hidden issues at all with this vehicle and I welcome AA/RAC or Indie mechanic inspections. Happy to answer any questions Vehicle is Sorn as of last week as I've switched over to my Winter car. Will be taxed for test drive. Car is located in Ruthin LL16 £5,995
  9. Gearboxes can be a bit agricultural. They can crunch into 2nd when cold. People have also complained of other gears doing the same, but 2nd seems to be the most common. I've read where people have had the GB rebuilt, only to have the issue return very soon. It's not really an issue. The gearboxes are tough as nuts and I haven't heard of one failing yet. Rear arches can rust, so get your fingers under there and check. Fuel filler cover can be ill fitting, but that can be adjusted W brace can rust out, but they're cheap to replace. All I can think of at the moment. Mileage shouldn't be a deciding factor, I think some guy on here is approaching a quarter million miles. I've seen sheds with a few tens of thousands of miles. Like any vehicle. Get one that's been obvioulsy looked after (Battered rims = Owner didn't give a @*!#). Check MOT history online. You can't go far wrong.
  10. You could check the gearbox mounts, but that would likely have flagged up to the mechanic. I'd still put my money on the sychros, regardless.
  11. I'd bet the farm on synchros. Common problem. Try another specialist.
  12. Bent axle shafts will cause it. Even an imperceptible bend. Just buy new ones, usually pretty cheap from a breakers.
  13. Spent four or five xmas' alone after I shed the ball and chain. Was good, I enjoyed opting out of xmas and it being just another day. I went camping one xmas. Great being the only car on the road in North Wales, and no sodding pikie caravans on the road. 10/10, would do it again.
  14. As for dishonesty. Went to see an Astra in Bury a few years back. 75k miles. Seats looked too worn for 75k. Paint was crazing on the bumpers. White paint was chalky. Checked online MOT history there and then in his office...175,000 miles. He was very surprised as you can imagine. Nob.
  15. Unfortunately, Pulsars, and Glanza are highly sought after by youngsters because they're so quick and cheaply modded. Think a young friend of mine was on his 3rd or 4th engine on his GT before he offloaded it to another 20-something who promptly ploughed it into a lamp post in Rhyl.
  16. I just filled the Works Golf TDI up (£45) and went to Birmingham and back, around Wales, then liverpool, over two days. 436ish miles. Still over half a tank left. Zeds make your bank account cry
  17. Two things that creaked on mine. 1: The seat was tilted far back, and the leather was rubbing on the plastic behind. I almost lie down when I'm driving. 2: Those little glove boxes on either side? One was creaking. I removed it and padded the outside of it with foam. Fixed.
  18. Seems a tricky way of doing things. Throw the navigation system in the bin. Get an Android head unit, get a 3G dongle, Download 'Waze' to the unit, and you're done. Or just buy a Tom Tom
  19. I kind of want to agree but what do you reckon about the wheeler dealer results? Terraclean slipped Brewer a monkey and fudged results? Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk Plugging a service, it's not unheard of. I'd want to test it myself with an endoscope before/after, but I'm highly skeptical it could do a thorough job, I imagine they use a perc chemical to attack the carbon. But in aerosl form, it's just not going to be that effective or it would be a chemical in standard use by garages everywhere.
  20. I've stripped more engines than you can shake a stick at, and I can tell you that nothing that you can put in your working engine will effectively remove that carbon. On a stripped engine, sure, you can use all sorts of chemicals to easily remove it. Don't waste your money. The only effective way to remove carbon, is to get the heads off.

    Rush jobs :(

Spray paint is the worst filler in my experience. It just doesn't hide scratches no matter how thick you lay it on.
  22. Aye, is really good stuff that, looks good too. I had a can of it explode in my face when I was a 19yr old apprentice. I removed the air hose from the can without depressurising it, I was completely black faced. Service manager almost died of laughter.
  23. Us Land Rover owners used to swear by Waxoyl, but they seemed to have changed the formula over the years and it's just not as good. Many of the real Landy (Series 1, 2 & 3) owners use a oil, paraffin and wax mix to coat their chassis. You'd be far better off asking on a Landy or Shogun site rather than a Zed site though. Half of these muppets would get a full valet if if it so much as rained on their car
