It's the same engine - the street version is detuned to 350ps. The RS-C WAS worth that, Rick at Racecarparts is selling one for anyone interested in owning one. Comes with a spare engine I believe. As for cost. Put it this way, you can't buy one in Japan in any condition for less than 3.5m yen - which is £22k at today's exchange rate. That's before you deregister it, ship it, pay tax on it, IVA it, register it, tax it and insure it. Not cheap.

. Easy answer is yes, although in truth, there were no Nismo's ever released in the UK. There were a handful of Nissan 350z GT editions that had optional nismo aero on them (v2 kit I think, someone can correct me if I'm wrong) and ran the standard VQHR engine with 3.5 Litre kicking out 313bhp USA & Japanese "Version Nismo" edition cars came with the same 3.5L engine at 313 inclusive of nismo exhaust, suspension, dampers, fully welded chassis etc - all finished off at Autech. The 380RS engine (VQ38HR) was developed for Super Taikyu series racing - it's the same VQHR block as the old nismo, but with lighter / stronger cranks cams etc. It's stroked to 3.8 over the original 3.5 and tuned to 400PS. Because nissan did so well, they wanted to use the same engine in their GT300 cars so needed to build a certain number of road cars with the same engine to allow that to happen, In essence the 380RS is a homologation special. The 380RS wasn't built at a Nissan plant & finished-off at Autech like the other Version Nismos were, they were all built at Nismo's Omori factory then tuned at Autech once assembled.

On a related note - expect to pay about £5k extra for a white one over any other colour regardless of mileage. For some reason the Japanese adore white cars and it shows when you're shopping for them...

Thanks Ceejay I'm honestly not sure if it's the only one in the UK - but certainly the only one I know of after trawling uk forums. There were rumour's of one being imported not long after the initial launch but if there was, it's a well kept secret or perhaps languishing in someone's private collection. Car will be at as many shows as possible this spring \ summer for anyone wanting a look :-)

Ah didn't think it'd be long before someone spotted it at Jurgens. :-) The 380RS is the rarest fairlady Z they ever built - 300 units to homologate the engine so the Z33 could race in GT300 series. It's basically a balls-out track car although this one hasn't been abused or modified at all :-) Rick who trades under racecarparts on this forum helped me secure it - he can find virtually anything over there. :-)

The guys are right - unavoidable, but manageable. Silica gel pouches such as pingi or the one Rich linked to work a treat. My recommendation is have a pre-microwaved one sat on a radiator in the house staying toasty warm (and dry), when you go driving, take it with you and once you're finished your journey, take the rich (saturated) one out - nuke it and rinse / repeat. For long-term storage, you can put a room dehumidifier (homebase B&Q sell them) in the car, but in all honesty, they will be overpowered pretty quickly ion the Zed. Just be ready with a nice absorbent towel when you plan on taking it back out on the road to soak up the condensation.

Going to be impossible to shift that motor without that smashed-in arse following it about... Been doing some digging around with its VIN to see if it really is a nismo but don't have access to Nissan Fast out here...

Does that mean it's been written off? Lol! Cat 5 trackers are a thatcham spec tracker which can remotely disable a vehicle if its been stolen. Highest certified grade of 'theft recovery' device on the market. Looking at over a grand with install & a 3 year subscription.

Cheers dude, I realize motorhub have a terrible reputation! Shame as they have the biggest selection of jap imports in the uk by the look's of it. They do, but it won't be fresh imports, it'll be the dross thats been ragged rotten all over the place that no-one can get rid of. Far better going to a reputable palce like JM Imports, Harlow Jap Autos or even New Era & getting a car that's in good nick

I'd say 50\50 FF & Gran Turismo 2. Most people who played that game fell in love with the R34 and are now at the age they can comfortably buy one. Just my opinion.

A few years ago I might have said "Do your offshore survival / Bosiet" - but in the current climate that is not recommended. Industry is at saturation point due to the dearth of opportunities & qualified people already on the hunt. In a high-oil environment, a person with almost any tradecraft could make a go of it offshore. Just not at the moment.

Perverting the course of justice still stands as a reasonable offence to charge whoever's name was on the lease agreement.

Dare say a couple regardless of who was driving would remember hitting a cyclist though. One committed a crime the other is an accessory to what is arguably attempted murder and is similarly culpable of perverting the course of justice. Worst case scenario is do them both with perverting the course of justice and be as harsh as you can be.
