  1. Welcome! There are a few Zs around this way! Mine is going up for sale this week so could have been one for you, doh! 57' HR black with frost leather. Let me know where you're based, happy to bring it along for a chat so you can compare yours. Can check some of the common stuff too
  2. Welcome! Z is a pretty common step once you're done with 9k honda limiter life!
  3. Ooh, those had failed! Mine had a hesitation at low rpm and my warm idle was just under the 30psi - now sits where yours is after being sorted. Mark @ Abbey motorsport did mine. Although mine hadn't totally failed (your pre-fix warm pressure is scary) Mark said both gaskets were breaking up and were well on their way. As for backordered gaskets - Abbey get theirs from Z1 motorsports in the US. What mileage is yours on? 79k I had mine done.
  4. Surely these are sold.. I have with a friend with a 34 GTT who'll take them otherwise
  5. This lad had a near new 370Z Nismo for sale.. also breaking a DE which was half built as a drift car. I'd imagine he's aware they're not brembo as they're a bit different to his 370!
  6. Welcome, My HR with ART Decats/Miltek Y Pipe/Cobra Non-res/HKS Panel filters made 297 at the hubs.. You can see some decent power from these things. They are heavy with long gears however so will never be as quick as you expect.
  7. Removed earlier this month from my HR as I've gone for something a bit louder! Previous owner fitted - has been on for about 10k miles and in really good shape. Two scuffs on the bottom of the tailpipes from storage since removal. Really quite an impressive thing, great note and most of the time you wouldn't even know it was fitted. It'll come with a new clamp to join the midpipe and box - previous one was a bit past it! I can ship anywhere in the UK or collection/meet - based near Bury St Edmunds. £300 posted, will be less if you want to collect. Any questions/additional pictures just ask! Cheers

    Exhaust

Scorpion just removed from mine .. going up in parts for sale now. Let me know! Wouldn't even know it was there until you open it up, really impressive and a good sound, you wouldn't be disappointed.
  9. I'd like it.. but it didn't look worth full price, waiting for it to get down to a tenner or so and I'll grab! Might keep me amused during the wait for Skate 4

    24 year old

Yep, 23 years old, 4 NCB, Aviva for £530 Well worth a call!
  11. I had my DE at 21 with elephant, think it was about £960 (admiral/elephant group) Currently 23 with my HR, through aviva it was £530 - 5 years license, 4 ncb - well worth giving them a call. I ran the horrific 'drive app' for 200 stressful miles and ended up with 9.6/10 - 28% off from that. Then just delete it. Your choice when you use the app but need 200 miles recorded for a score! Just stick to speed limits and be smooth. Motorway with cruise on is a great way. Aviva did say the car is listed as 25+ but owning one previously negated that. The chap phoned the broker and they were happy to add my girlfriend too who has no experience of this kind of car. Until this year I always used elephant. They were around 1100 for my Integra at 19 when everyone else wanted £3k+! I think it's elephant/admiral/bell that are the same group
  12. Previously ran a cobra non-res on the old car, lovely sound. It drones a bit on throttle up a hill.. but never enough to really bother me. My Hondas before had been fully stripped and deathly loud (Spoon N1 or Buddyclub Spec 2...) This one currently has a scorpion fitted, actually sounds a lot nicer than I expected, more of a tinny sound than the Cobra, a lot quieter. Light throttle inside you wouldn't even know it was there. Cobra Non-res & ART decats to fit however... not yet seen this combo! Trying to keep the tone of the Cobra but give it the kick I like! It might be awful and drone like hell!
  13. Will be keeping an eye on this - see so many around here, about time I went to something!
  14. Divider arrived this morning, straight in the car - fits perfectly as expected and looks great! I see you've upgraded the design since the last one I had with a new strip of grippy soft stuff! Never had any fitment problems with the old one but nothing will knock this one loose now! Thanks again Ian!

    A quieter cabin

There's a massive roll of sound insulation in my shed waiting to be put in, so was actually a useful search/read for me too!
  16. I have a friend who will be moving to a Nissan dealer as service manager next month.. so will be seeing what it can be done for there at a very reduced labour rate - GTR/370s in the showroom so presume it's a full, performance dealer. If that's still extortionate then i'll be contacting one of you lot! Low rpm hesitation when coming on throttle - related? Or a seperate fault entirely and cured with a map..
  17. I came from a UK DC2 to a 350Z DE Both totally stock bar noise - Mugen airbox/98' mani, decat, Spoon N1 & Just a cobra non-res Y back on the Z. I think you have to be over Hondas before you make the move.. I was bored of having to scream the poor thing everywhere and wait for the power. The shove in any gear from the Z was such a wonderful change. Both sounded incredible, I still miss the crossover on the teg but the Z really is something else. I now have a 350Z HR which is soon to get the same Non-res cobra but with Motordyne ART decats this time. The Zs are most certainly not B road heroes like the Honda was.. you really do feel the width of them - not so much the weight.. just overall size. The DE used to run dead level with a mates JDM 98' DC2 (which used to drive away from my UK .. they really are that much faster) The DE though had at best 280bhp so that was always to be expected. In my eyes I kept about the same speed but gained the noise, rear drive fun/feel and a degree of luxury. I used to work at a Honda dealer prior to a drastic career change - albeit on the bikes it was a combined dealer so I still drove everything I could get my hands on. So I've been fortunate enough to try pretty much everything with an R badge on it.. (only standard NSXs!)

    A quieter cabin

A quick search turned up this: http://www.350z-uk.c..._hl__soundproof http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/97988-reversing-camera-and-soundproofing-boot/page__hl__soundproof
  19. Hdev quote £799, believe Abbey motorsport are little less than that Depending on where you're based Mitz at Cougarstore, Zmanalex I believe and a few others also do this job quite regularly. Think Nissan quote it being a 7 hour job.. It's on my list of things to have done next year. What's your oil pressure reading hot and at what mileage? Just to strike fear in to me...
  20. I looked for ages before finding mine.. I reluctantly took a look on gumtree (usually try and avoid anywhere with free listing) and there it was. As a previous DE owner it's most definitely worth going for the HR.. I guess this is especially true for me as I came from the older style interior - dipstick alone is enough reason. Generally silver seem to be cheaper and will stay for sale for longer (I personally hate silver cars.. I suspect many people do too). Mileage puts a lot of people off .. although it shouldn't with the right history/paperwork. A used and maintained car is far nicer than one that's done 2-3k a year with very minimal servicing. Major jobs to look out for: Clutch/DMF - When these need changing all depends on the life the car has had.. by about 60-70k it should have been done however. Check for receipts etc. The clutch will whine when disengaged at idle.. that's just a feature, it'll sound like the release bearing but a whine not a grumble/grind. If the car has had a lightweight flywheel fitted then this will be far more pronounced! Gallery oil gaskets - The HR has a neat trick of eating these paper gaskets (nissan issued revised metal parts in 2012) - These will fail, it's not an if .. more a when. Specialists (abbey/Hdev) will charge you around 750-800 for this. The main symptom is low oil pressure at idle when hot (fans cutting in) - anything above 25 psi on the gauge is within spec. Generally when they fail you'll see anything between 5-15psi - it'll also have a lumpy idle. Low RPM hesitation - once at operating temp and driving, any gear.. easier to feel in 3rd/4th at around 1500-2k rpm, when coming back on the throttle it'll hesitate ever so slightly. This is a fault with the exhaust cam control and is cured by a remap (Uprev).. again a specialist will charge £400 for this - performance gain too obviously. Usual Z checks.. the boot should pop open a good 3-4 inches, then lift on it's own with a nudge from you. If it doesn't then you'll need the gas struts regassed/replaced (£35~ SGS), front compression 'banana' arms - check to see if these have been changed as if you opt for genuine they're expensive. Brakes/tyres on these cars are also pricey so check these.. also look at what it has fitted, gives an idea of owner. If I see cheap tyres I generally walk away. Always good to ask the 'I can run this on any fuel right?' question as running on less than 98 can damage pistons/rings. HRs shouldn't use any oil (my DE used a hilarious amount!) From the ones you've posted above, the 72k , £8.2k is one I'd be looking more in to.. the elusive night blue is an HR exclusive colour and very sought after here on the forum.. admittedly one I first went looking for after I found my own in black. If the Cobra is too loud I will bite your hand off for it and swap a quieter scorpion - silent in cabin at motorway speeds, louder and nicer sounding than standard. If the exhaust, or any extra part, on a car isn't for you, remember you can sell them here/Ebay and essentially reduce the price you paid for that car. Example above, that £8.2k Z would be the same price with or without the cobra... were you to sell it on standard.
  21. Agree with the mileage comments so far.. I had a 28k DE with occasional use, the wife fancied a sports car so they bought it - some service history but was super cheap so grabbed it. It was awful, i've never seen oil usage like it! Suspect they ran it on any old fuel.. Now have an HR Black/frost - full history 77k and it's just sublime. The miles I found just meant that everything big has already been changed.. gen compression arms, nissan clutch/dmf etc. Only thing I haven't seen are the infamous gallery gaskets.. keeping an eye on oil pressure and saving for this one. Sometimes adding miles to an already higher miled car is nicer. As people have said with a car like this you generally buy on condition/history, not mileage. Keep browsing, they'll only get cheaper this time of year
  22. Bump! Still after a Cobra non-res! (Gone off the BC)
